Objective: The study was carried out with an objective to design technological combinations and fed batch approach for improved production of therapeutically and industrially important molecule L-tyrosine.Methods: Technological combinations (23) were designed with optimized chemical parameters for the biotransformation of phenol to L-tyrosine with resting cells of C. freundii MTCC 2424. Eight combinations were obtained by combination of varying three optimized chemical parameters (ammonium chloride, phenol and sodium pyruvate). To observe the effect of phenol on L-tyrosine biosynthesis, two fed batch experiments were designed on the basis of its concentrations. The L-tyrosine formed was detected and quantified by HPLC technique. Results: Maximum L-tyrosine conversion in technological combinations was observed with lower concentration of phenol than optimized value. In fed batch studies, higher phenol concentration was found to be inhibitory for L-tyrosine synthesis due to phenol inactivation of catalyst. Conclusion: The present approach is helpful in comparing the fermentation processes and designing of better bioprocesses. Production of L-tyrosine at minimum cost and energy is helpful in meeting the challenging need of various industries

Trust Based Participant Driven Privacy Control in Participatory Sensing

Widespread use of sensors and multisensory personal devices generate a lot of personal information. Sharing this information with others could help in various ways. However, this information may be misused when shared with all. Sharing of information between trusted parties overcomes this problem. This paper describes a model to share information based on interactions and opinions to build trust among peers. It also considers institutional and other controls, which influence the behaviour of the peers. The trust and control build confidence. The computed confidence bespeaks whether to reveal information or not thereby increasing trusted cooperation among peers.Comment: 14 page

On Distribution Free Tests for the Two-Sample Location Problem Based on Signs of Extreme Observations

    Get PDF
A class of distribution-free tests for two-sample location problem is based on the signs of most extreme observations in the sub-samples of sizes c and d from X and Y samples respectively. The test statistics have been expressed in terms of linear rank statistics. The asymptotic normality of the test statistics is established. Asymptotic efficiencies indicate that members of our class do well in comparison with some already existing test statistics for light and medium tailed distributions

Rank Tests for Independence Against Weighted Alternative with Missing Values

One of the common problems of practical importance is that of determining whether there is independence between a pair of random variables. In this paper, the problem of testing independence of bivariate random variables against a weighted alternative model with possible missing values on both responses is considered. The model considered here is due to Shei, Bai and Tsai [9] which is the generalization of Hajek and Sidak [12] model with weighted contamination. A new rank test based on ranks is proposed and its asymptotic normality is established. Locally most powerful tests for the model is derived. The asymptotic null distributions of the test statistics are also provided for the purpose of practical us

ON TESTING AGAINST POSITIVE QUADRANT DEPENDENCE BASED ON SUB-SAMPLE ORDER STATISTICS

A new class of tests based on convex combination of the two statistics is proposed. These are functions of sub-sample order statistics. The classes of tests proposed by Kochar and Gupta [6], Shetty and Pandit [16], Pandit and Kumari [11] and Kendall’s test lie in the proposed class of test statistics. The asymptotic normality of the proposed class of tests is established. It has been observed that some members of the class perform better than the existing tests. Unbiasedness and consistency of the proposed class of tests are established

Most data frameworks and business applications assembled these days have a web frontend and they should be generally accessible to customers, representatives and accomplices around the globe, as the computerized economy is turning out to be increasingly pervasive in the worldwide economy. Strategy and a model instrument to assess web application security components. In this paper, we along these lines propose to make trusted equipment a top notch national in the safe information administration field. Additionally, we trust that cost-driven bits of knowledge and compositional standards will generally change the way frameworks and calculations are planned. We present an outsourced database model that permits customers to execute SQL questions with security and under administrative consistence imperatives by utilizing server-facilitated, sealed trusted equipment in basic inquiry preparing stages, along these lines expelling any confinements on the kind of bolstered inquiries

Background: To correlate the findings of physical examination, ultrasonography and chromosomal analysis, so that to give proper advice to the concerned parents as early as possible in rearing up of the child as male or female according to the situation. Methods: The study is undertaken with forty cases with ages ranging from new borne to 20 yrs. Out of these 40 cases eight cases are below one year. In these cases physical examination is correlated with ultrasonography and chromosomal analysis. Results: In chromosomal analysis three persons out of forty cases were mosaics with 45, XO/46, twenty one cases who showed the chromosomal pattern as 46, XY mostly showed with no mullarian reminents. On examination palpable gonads were found in labio-scrotal sacs in seventeen cases. One of these cases was reared as girl found cytogenetically as 46, XY with the ultrasonographic impression as small uterus with no ovaries. Nineteen cases who with ambiguous genitalia showed the chromosomal pattern as 46, XX one out of these cases showed enlargement of the breast, and on examination of external genitalia found enlarged clitoris with labiamajora and minora. The child was brought up as male. Genitogram showed the absence of uterus. Conclusions: Chromosomal studies with ultrasonography can help in rearing a child male or female in young generation by surgical and Hormonal therapy. This prevents many problems in later life. This fact should be advertised openly in the public so that illiterate people should be alert.

Concurrent Context-Free Framework for Conceptual Similarity Problem using Reverse Dictionary

Semantic search is one of the most prominent options to search the required and relevant content from the web. But most of them are doing key word and phrase wise similarity search. It may or may not find the relevant information because they directly search with that phrase. But, in most of the cases documents may conceptually equal instead of term wise. Reverse dictionary can solve such type of problems. This will take meaning of the word and it will return related keywords with respective ranks. But main problem here is building such dictionaries is time and memory consuming. Cost effective solutions are required to reduce search time and in-memory requirements. This paper focuses on such aspects by utilizing concurrent programming and efficient index structures and builds a framework to Conceptual similarity problem using reverse dictionary. Simulation results shows that proposed approach can take less time when compared to existing approaches
