Thermal non-equilibrium effects in quantum reflection
We show that the quantum reflection coefficient of ultracold heavy atoms
scattering off a dielectric surface can be tuned in a wide range by suitable
choice of surface and environment temperatures. This effect results from a
temperature dependent long-range repulsive part of the van der
Waals-Casimir-Polder-Lifshitz atom-surface interaction potential
Taking into account the age of students in the teaching of translation
The article studies age characteristics which are meaningful in the process of foreign language teaching. Challenges that learners face while acquiring translation skills are highlighted. Some techniques of translation teaching in the situations of specific age groups are described. The importance of learner's motivation for language acquisition and translation skills acquisition is in the focus
Optical and evaporative cooling of cesium atoms in the gravito-optical surface trap
We report on cooling of an atomic cesium gas closely above an evanescent-wave
atom mirror. At high densitities, optical cooling based on inelastic
reflections is found to be limited by a density-dependent excess temperature
and trap loss due to ultracold collisions involving repulsive molecular states.
Nevertheless, very good starting conditions for subsequent evaporative cooling
are obtained. Our first evaporation experiments show a temperature reduction
from 10muK down to 300nK along with a gain in phase-space density of almost two
orders of magnitude.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Journal of Modern Optics, special

A glossy magazine discourse of the early twenty-first century as a tool of globalization: Sochi school of linguistics and rhetoric
The authors consider the discourse of a glossy magazine. They highlight the glossy magazine discourse, which appears in the framework of the General media discourse as an institutional discourse from the standpoint of the linguistical-rhetorical paradigm (LRP) of the Sochi scientific school. This type of discourse is a discursive process of a special type, acts as an explicit tool of globalization. The authors emphasize the novelty of this discourse in the context of its influence on the formation and transformation of the modern linguistic personality. The relevance of the study is emphasized by the fact that the glossy magazine discourse is the latest in terms of the chronology of the historical process. In addition, he actualizes the poly-ethno-socio-cultural and educational space (PESCES) of the beginning of the XXI century, on the example of glossy magazine discourse practices in Russia. For the first time, Glossy magazine discourse stimulates transformations in line with the leading trend of the formation of the "planetary language personality (PLP)" - globalization in the value orientations of the "philosophy of glamour"
Brechas socioculturales y las formas de su eliminación durante el estudio de lenguas extranjeras
In order to take part in the intercultural communication of students, an idea of national traditions, cultural values, customs, and realities of the studied language country must be developed. Lacunae are the gaps in knowledge of the country and the people culture who speak the language being studied. When you work with lacunae, it is necessary to check the correct understanding of their meaning constantly, as well as introduce them into the active vocabulary of students. This is why this study seeks to address the sociocultural gaps and the ways of transfer during the study of foreign languages.
Development of an Intellectual Educational and Diagnostic Complex for the Histological Analysis of Thyroid Tumors
The purpose of this project is the creation of an interactive intellectual training system based on the DBMS, which allows to organize and store information, transfer and copy data for employees. The already existing images and their characteristics are structured, a decision support system is developed for the recognition of tumors and suspicious cells, which saves time for an already experienced oncologist. This system allows to increase the accuracy of diagnosis. Educational and diagnostic complexes help to accumulate experience for young specialists in the field of image analysis, carry out comparative research, which speeds up the learning process, promotes professional development of the specialist.

Cognitive Engagement Involvement as a Basis for Designing the Educational Process in the Preparation of Students of Pedagogical Directions
The article presents the rationale and definition of the parameters of cognitive engagement of students in pedagogical areas of training that optimize the design of educational activities at the university, the results of assessing the quality of the educational process in the preparation of bachelors in the direction of “Pedagogical education” at the Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin and Moscow State Regional University based on the application of the integral criterion of students’ cognitive engagement. The article analyzes foreign and domestic research in the field of “cognitive engagement”, the best practices for monitoring the engagement of students in other areas at the Higher School of Economics, MEPhI, at the universities of the USA, identifies the main indicators and defines an integral criterion for the cognitive engagement of students in pedagogical areas based on their coordination with the cognitive mode learning activities and cognitive strategies of students, as well as the experience of diagnosing the cognitive engagement of student teachers. The results of the study presented in the article are the basis for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the activities of university departments that provide training of teaching staff by means of designing the educational process with high cognitive engagement of students. The developed diagnostic and technological tools can be used to manage, design, assess the quality of pedagogical activity, the educational result of a student and develop priority educational modes of training, learning technologies in higher pedagogical education, and can also serve as the basis for monitoring conducted by quality assessment units, auditing educational innovation at the university
Intellectual Information and Training System for Software and Hardware Complexes of Morphological Diagnostics of Esophageal Tumors
The aim of the work is to create a system of formalizing knowledge in the histological diagnosis of esophageal tumors and systematic transfer of knowledge to less experienced specialists. It is also a system that will provide support in making a decision in a histological diagnosis.
