A study on the epigean spiders from two managed forests of pine (Pinus pinea L.) and black poplar (Populus nigra L.) was made, differentiating the areas within each forest and during an annual period and analysing space and temporal perspectives. Each forest is characterised by a number of spider species, grounded on their activity. It is cloncluded that each of these areas possesses special characteristics and is defined as a particular microambient, that the spiders hold a differential temporal distribution and that the spider composition of pine and black poplar forests is clearly different, being poorer in the latter. These results are discussed as to their possible origin from the different human intewentions in the forests.
High-pressure synthesis, structural and complex magnetic properties of the ordered double perovskite Pb2NiReO6
The ordered double perovskite Pb2NiReO6 has been prepared at 6 GPa and temperatures ranging from 1273 to 1373 K. Its crystal structure determined by X-ray powder diffraction and selected area electron diffraction shows monoclinic symmetry with centrosymmetric space group I2/m (a = 5.6021(1) Å, b = 5.6235(1) Å, c = 7.9286(1) Å and β = 90.284°(1)). High angle annular dark field microscopy studies reveal the existence of compositional microdomains. The compound displays a re-entrant spin-glass transition from a ferrimagnetic ordering below TN 37 K between the Re+5 and Ni+3 (high spin configuration) magnetic sublattices to a spin-glass configuration. Magnetic field dependent magnetization measurements revealed wasp-waisted hysteresis loops at 5 K. These shaped features originate from the antiferromagnetic/ferromagnetic (AFM/FM) competing interactions
Thermal route for the synthesis of maghemite/hematite core/shell nanowires
Nowadays, iron oxide-based nanostructures are key materials in many technological areas. Their physical and chemical properties can be tailored by tuning the morphology. In particular, the possibility of increasing the specific surface area has turned iron oxide nanowires (NWs) into promising functional materials in many applications. Among the different possible iron oxide NWs that can be fabricated, maghemite/hematite iron oxide core/shell structures have particular importance since they combine the magnetism of the inner maghemite core with the interesting properties of hematite in different technological fields ranging from green energy to biomedical applications. However, the study of these iron oxide structures is normally difficult due to the structural and chemical similarities between both iron oxide polymorphs. In this work, we propose a route for the synthesis of maghemite/hematite NWs based on the thermal oxidation of previously electrodeposited iron NWs. A detailed spectroscopic analysis based on Raman, Mossbauer, and X-ray absorption shows that the ratio of both oxides can be controlled during fabrication. Transmission electron microscopy has been used to check the core/shell structure of the NWs. The biocompatibility and capability of internalization of these NWs have also been proven to show the potential of these NWs in biomedical applications

FDI sectorial diversification: the trade-transport-tourism nexus
This Perspective explores the importance of attracting FDI in trade, transport and tourism for improving GDP growth. The successful experiences of Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai in benefiting from that nexus can be transferred to other small economies to assist them in capitalizing upon that connection
A check-list of 38 species of Philodromidae found in Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands is given. The list, in alphabetic order, contains the provinces and bibliographic references where the species are cited. The material of Philodromidae from the “Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in Madrid” has been studied, also several exemplars are examined. The provisional atlas of distribution of the species the Philodromidae in Spain, Portugal and Andorra is given, together with a distribution map for each species. We also give some data concerning its habitat and life cycle.
A catalogue including the four know especies of Anyphaenidae from the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands is provided. For each species, a list of all the localities, arranged according to provinces, obtained from literature references is presented. New localities are also given, both coming from “the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in Madrid” and the authoress collections. A provisional distribution atlas of Anyphaenidae species for the studied area is also provided, together with distribution maps for each species. Some data concerning habitat and life cycle are given.
Usually, the organs remain in the temple for which they were built, either while they are used or until they are abandoned, with very few occasions when they are moved from one place to another. The current organ of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción of Fermoselle parish, built in 1774 by José Liborna de Echevarría, however, has known up to three different locations, something undoubtedly exceptional. This organ was not the first one that existed in the parish. It preserves testimonies of an organ built by Roque de Larra in 1777 and another anonymous one from the 16th century.
