    Developing trends in showrooming, webrooming, and omnichannel shopping behaviors: Performance analysis, conceptual mapping, and future directions

    In an omnichannel era, businesses and marketers need insights into the dynamics of customer shopping behaviors, particularly the interplay between omnichannel, showrooming, and webrooming behaviors. This study investigates the evolution and trends of the research and channel shopping behaviors (RCSB) domain, spanning from 1998 to 2022, including the Covid-19 era. The study performed a bibliometric review of 500 papers in the Scopus database. The performance analysis reveals an annual growth rate of nearly 16%, with average citations per document of 44, indicating sustained and growing research interest. Science mapping revealed five distinct cluster themes, including showrooming and webrooming in multi- and omni-channel contexts; consumer behavior in online retail and shopping; customer satisfaction and trust in multi-channel retailing; mobile commerce in a multi-channel environment; and the interplay between online shopping, channel choice, and supply chain management. Furthermore, topics, such as showrooming, e-commerce, retailing, and omnichannel retailing, remain popular before and during the pandemic, as seen in the thematic evolution. Our examination of the thematic maps revealed various topics that gained significance during the pandemic, such as multichannel, channel choice, customer experience, social commerce, purchase behavior, and covid-19. Among these, the thematic maps indicate that customer experience, channel choice, multichannel, and covid-19 are emerging and basic topics. These topics can steer research directions in the RCSB domain toward examining customer experiences using digital innovations, e-commerce (including mobile and social commerce), and omnichannel strategy and management

    Ad hoc networks are self-configuring self-healing, self-managing and self-forming networks. If two or more parties want to communicate with each other with in radio range there is no need of any centralized node like conventional client server architecture. In ad hoc network each node has two roles at the same time, host and router. Nodes can communicate with each other if they are directly in range either other nodes help to communicate by forwarding packet from source to destination. Wireless routing is much difficult as compared to wired. Error correction and detection, channel access, hidden and exposed terminal problem, limited bandwidth, fading, mobility of nodes, weather problems etc. all things are big challenges in wireless routing. This paper is on behavioral analysis of ad hoc network routing protocols on different metrics by using OPNET Modeler Educational version. The metrics used are throughput, delay, load etc. while using different traffic types e.g. Video, Email, HTTP, FTP etc. Results showed that OLSR worked the best under the created scenarios

    Computing the Parametric Geo-Accumulation and Ecological Risk Indices of Some Heavy Metals Along on, Charsadda-Peshawar Road, Pakistan

    Charsadda to Peshawar road is characterized with diverse surrounding environment of residential settlements,industrial zones, commercial and agricultural sectors along with heavy traffic route which is contributing to heavy metalpollution. This study is focused on heavy metals: Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr) and Lead (Pb) contribution to theatmospheric pollution level. The heavy metals pollution assessment is carried out by sample collection (soil dust samplesand two vegetation species Cyperus esculentus and Cynodon dactylon) from ten sites along the road which were analyzedby using atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Average values of pollution index (PI) as well as average value ofpollution load index (PLI) for Cr, Cd and Pb in case of Cyperus esculentus, Cynodon dactylon and dust were calculated.Geo-accumulation index of roadside dust for Cr, Cd and Pb were estimated along with ecological risk due to roadsidedust using potential ecological risk index (RI). The analyses of this study suggest that the indices for the Cd metal foundto be of more concern than Cr or Pb which correspond to middle or low level of pollution. Statistical analysis revealedthat the three metals had a weak to moderate relationship with one another indicating multiple and somewhat similarsources of pollution

    Acute Gastrointestinal Bleeding in COVID-19 Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    Background/Aims More than 100 million people to date have been affected by the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Patients with COVID-19 have a higher risk of bleeding complications. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the outcomes of COVID-19 patients with signs and symptoms of acute gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). Methods A systematic literature search was carried out for articles published until until November 11, 2020, in the Embase, MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases. We included studies on COVID-19 patients with signs and symptoms of GIB. Results Our search yielded 49 studies, of which eight with a collective 127 patients (86 males and 41 females) met our inclusion criteria. Conservative management alone was performed in 59% of the patients, endoscopic evaluation in 31.5%, and interventional radiology (IR) embolization in 11%. Peptic ulcer disease was the most common endoscopic finding, diagnosed in 47.5% of the patients. Pooled overall mortality was 19.1% (95% confidence interval [CI]; 12.7%-27.6%) and pooled mortality secondary to GIB was 3.5% (95% CI; 1.3%–9.1%). The pooled risk of rebleeding was 11.3% (95% CI; 6.8%–18.4%). Conclusions The majority of COVID-19 patients with GIB responded to conservative management, with a low mortality rate associated with GIB and the risk of rebleeding. Thus, we suggest limiting endoscopic and IR interventions to those with hemodynamic instability and those for whom conservative management was unsuccessful

    Low educational attainment is associated with higher all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in the United States adult population

    Introduction: Educational attainment is an important social determinant of health (SDOH) for cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the association between educational attainment and all-cause and CVD mortality has not been longitudinally evaluated on a population-level in the US, especially in individuals with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). In this nationally representative study, we assessed the association between educational attainment and the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular (CVD) mortality in the general adult population and in adults with ASCVD in the US.Methods: We used data from the 2006-2014 National Death Index-linked National Health Interview Survey for adults ≥ 18 years. We generated age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMR) by levels of educational attainment (\u3c high school (HS), HS/General Education Development (GED), some college, and ≥ College) in the overall population and in adults with ASCVD. Cox proportional hazards models were used to examine the multivariable-adjusted associations between educational attainment and all-cause and CVD mortality.Results: The sample comprised 210,853 participants (mean age 46.3), representing ~ 189 million adults annually, of which 8% had ASCVD. Overall, 14.7%, 27%, 20.3%, and 38% of the population had educational attainment \u3c HS, HS/GED, Some College, and ≥ College, respectively. During a median follow-up of 4.5 years, all-cause age-adjusted mortality rates were 400.6 vs. 208.6 and 1446.7 vs. 984.0 for the total and ASCVD populations for \u3c HS vs ≥ College education, respectively. CVD age adjusted mortality rates were 82.1 vs. 38.7 and 456.4 vs 279.5 for the total and ASCVD populations for \u3c HS vs ≥ College education, respectively. In models adjusting for demographics and SDOH, \u3c HS (reference = ≥ College) was associated with 40-50% increased risk of mortality in the total population and 20-40% increased risk of mortality in the ASCVD population, for both all-cause and CVD mortality. Further adjustment for traditional risk factors attenuated the associations but remained statistically significant for \u3c HS in the overall population. Similar trends were seen across sociodemographic subgroups including age, sex, race/ethnicity, income, and insurance status.Conclusions: Lower educational attainment is independently associated with increased risk of all-cause and CVD mortality in both the total and ASCVD populations, with the highest risk observed for individuals with \u3c HS education. Future efforts to understand persistent disparities in CVD and all-cause mortality should pay close attention to the role of education, and include educational attainment as an independent predictor in mortality risk prediction algorithms

    Normative brain mapping using scalp EEG and potential clinical application

    A normative electrographic activity map could be a powerful resource to understand normal brain function and identify abnormal activity. Here, we present a normative brain map using scalp EEG in terms of relative band power. In this exploratory study we investigate its temporal stability, its similarity to other imaging modalities, and explore a potential clinical application. We constructed scalp EEG normative maps of brain dynamics from 17 healthy controls using source-localised resting-state scalp recordings. We then correlated these maps with those acquired from MEG and intracranial EEG to investigate their similarity. Lastly, we use the normative maps to lateralise abnormal regions in epilepsy. Spatial patterns of band powers were broadly consistent with previous literature and stable across recordings. Scalp EEG normative maps were most similar to other modalities in the alpha band, and relatively similar across most bands. Towards a clinical application in epilepsy, we found abnormal temporal regions ipsilateral to the epileptogenic hemisphere. Scalp EEG relative band power normative maps are spatially stable across time, in keeping with MEG and intracranial EEG results. Normative mapping is feasible and may be potentially clinically useful in epilepsy. Future studies with larger sample sizes and high-density EEG are now required for validation

    Entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is one of the widely researched areas in entrepreneurship studies. Yet researchers have to come to agreement to the dimensionality of this important construct. EO is a multi-dimensional construct with varying impact on the performance and success of an enterprise in a developing context. Likewise, family ownership of the entrepreneurial business is one of the oldest phenomena in business circles. In developing countries family owned businesses makeup sizeable majority. The present study is conducted to investigate the role EO plays in the success of an enterprise with the moderating influence of family involvement. The study results indicate that proactiveness and autonomy are the most significant dimensions in the success of an enterprise. The results indicate that when family is taken as a moderator, the overall influence of EO dimensions is considerably reduced. The study concludes that cultural setting of entrepreneurial businesses and entrepreneurs themselves are subject to cultural norms and values and this cultural setting inhibit certain aspects of entrepreneurial activity, limiting the growth of entrepreneurship in a country.     Mapping preictal and ictal haemodynamic networks using video-electroencephalography and functional imaging

    Ictal patterns on scalp-electroencephalography are often visible only after propagation, therefore rendering localization of the seizure onset zone challenging. We hypothesized that mapping haemodynamic changes before and during seizures using simultaneous video-electroencephalography and functional imaging will improve the localization of the seizure onset zone. Fifty-five patients with ≥2 refractory focal seizures/day, and who had undergone long-term video-electroencephalography monitoring were included in the study. ‘Preictal' (30 s immediately preceding the electrographic seizure onset) and ictal phases, ‘ictal-onset'; ‘ictalestablished' and ‘late ictal', were defined based on the evolution of the electrographic pattern and clinical semiology. The functional imaging data were analysed using statistical parametric mapping to map ictal phase-related haemodynamic changes consistent across seizures. The resulting haemodynamic maps were overlaid on co-registered anatomical scans, and the spatial concordance with the presumed and invasively defined seizure onset zone was determined. Twenty patients had typical seizures during functional imaging. Seizures were identified on video-electroencephalography in 15 of 20, on electroencephalography alone in two and on video alone in three patients. All patients showed significant ictal-related haemodynamic changes. In the six cases that underwent invasive evaluation, the ictal-onset phase-related maps had a degree of concordance with the presumed seizure onset zone for all patients. The most statistically significant haemodynamic cluster within the presumed seizure onset zone was between 1.1 and 3.5 cm from the invasively defined seizure onset zone, which was resected in two of three patients undergoing surgery (Class I post-surgical outcome) and was not resected in one patient (Class III post-surgical outcome). In the remaining 14 cases, the ictal-onset phase-related maps had a degree of concordance with the presumed seizure onset zone in six of eight patients with structural-lesions and five of six non-lesional patients. The most statistically significant haemodynamic cluster was localizable at sub-lobar level within the presumed seizure onset zone in six patients. The degree of concordance of haemodynamic maps was significantly better (P < 0.05) for the ictal-onset phase [entirely concordant/concordant plus (13/20; 65%) + some concordance (4/20; 20%) = 17/20; 85%] than ictal-established [entirely concordant/concordant plus (5/13; 38%) + some concordance (4/13; 31%) = 9/13; 69%] and late ictal [concordant plus (1/9; 11%) + some concordance (4/9; 44%) = 5/9; 55%] phases. Ictal propagation-related haemodynamic changes were also seen in symptomatogenic areas (9/20; 45%) and the default mode network (13/20; 65%). A common pattern of preictal changes was seen in 15 patients, starting between 98 and 14 s before electrographic seizure onset, and the maps had a degree of concordance with the presumed seizure onset zone in 10 patients. In conclusion, preictal and ictal haemodynamic changes in refractory focal seizures can non-invasively localize seizure onset at sub-lobar/gyral level when ictal scalp-electroencephalography is not helpfu
