The Challenges and Strategies to Improve Family-centered Round: a Literature Review

The importance of family-centered care and the role of families in decision making are becoming more recognized today. Several studies have supported the implementation of family-centered care and its role in enhancing quality of care. Family-centered rounds are one of family centered model of care that brings together multidisciplinary team as well as family to discuss the patient's condition and care management, coordinate the patient's care management, and make decisions on care plan for the patient (Sisterhen et al., 2007, Aronson et al., 2009). As part of innovations to enhance family-centered care, family-centered rounds have been adopted and implemented in many hospitals. This model of rounds is popular and widely applied in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit (Aronson et al., 2009, Kleiber et al., 2006, Mittal et al., 2010). However, other units have also begun to implement it (Schiller and Anderson, 2003, Mangram et al., 2005). The benefits of family-centered rounds have been presented in several studies. They reported that family-centered rounds have been improved communication between staff and family members (Mittal et al., 2010, Jacobowski et al., 2010, Rosen et al., 2009, Vazirani et al., 2005), understanding of the patient's care plan (Rosen et al., 2009), staff and family satisfaction (Rappaport et al., 2010, Rosen et al., 2009); and decreased need for care plan clarification (Rosen et al., 2009)

The objectives of this research were discovered the kinds of maxims and the dominant maxim; to explain the implication of the dominant maxim and to describe the context of situation in OZ: the Great and Powerful Movie. This research was done on OZ\u27s utterances because he is the only main character. There were 38 of violated maxims gathered as the data for this research. The descriptive qualitative design was used to analyze the data. The results of the analysis showed that all kinds of maxims were violated: 18 utterances violated maxim of quantity (48%), 2 utterances violated maxim of qualiy (6%), 12 utterances violated maxim of relation (13%), and 6 utterances violated maxim of manner (13). The maxim of quantity is the dominant kind of maxims that was violated by OZ. The implication of this violated maxim is the main character has worried about his life story and he try to covered his truthfull and tricky. The context of situation of this violated maxim is the main character who cannot hide his true story from his friend

The Association Knowledge and Community Practice with the Incidence of DHF (Study in the Village of Putat Jaya Surabaya on 2010–2014)

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still one of problems today in Indonesia. Incident Rate (IR) and Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is DHF incidence indicator. The objective of the research was to identify and analyze relationship between knowledge and communitypractice with dengue incidence in the Village Putat Jaya Surabaya 2010–2014. This study used a cross-sectional study. Interviews were conducted on 397 people in Village Putat Jaya Surabaya with each proportion 8 people in RW 1, 62 people in RW 2, 35 people in RW 3, 29 people in RW 4, 24 people in RW 5, 12 people in RW 6, 16 people in RW 7, 59 people in RW 8, 23 people in RW 9, 12 people in RW 10, 16 people in RW 11, 22 people in RW 12, 25 people in RW 13, 50 people in RW 14 and 4 people in RW 15. Subjects were selected by simple random sampling. The dependent variable is incidence of DHF. The independent variablesare knowledge and community practice. Data analysis using Chi-Square test with significancy level at 95%. The results showed that there was no relationship between knowledge society (p = 0.206) with dengue\u27s incidence.Practice (p = 0.009) had a association with dengue\u27s incidence. Conclusion of study is practice have a significant relationship with DHF occurrence. Health ministry is recommended to work together across sectors between related stakeholder, dissemination of dengue through electronic media, training of bumantik cadres regularly, increasing community participation through PSN DBD and distribute free mosquito repellent to public

The purpose of this research to determine the relationship between nutritional status and level of physical fitness by working on labor productivity. This research was explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Population was a 73 employees. And sample was 45 employees. Instrument was a weight scales and height, harvard bench, metronome, stopwatch and productivity data sheet. Was processed, using the Chi-Square statistic with α = 0.05. The results was a relationship between nutritional status (p = 0.005), level of physical fitness (p = 0.001) with labor productivity. This research will expect workers to consume foods that contain balanced nutrition and exercise to improve physical fitness

The Implementation of Economic Order Quantity for Raw Material Planning in SME Producing Terasi Crackers

    Get PDF
Raw material planning in SME producing crackers is an essential matter since most of its raw materials do not last long and to avoid raw materials shortage or buildup stored in the warehouse. Therefore, the researchers offered a solution by implementing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. From this research, it was concluded that the economic supply of raw materials (wheat flour) is 27.71 Kg with 14-day interval between orders, 6-day waiting time until the products are delivered, 16.47 Kg reorder point, 4.42 Kg safety stock value, and IDR 1,801,064 TIC

The Global and Local in Phillips Curve\ud

The debate over the Phillips Curve - as the relation between level of unemployment rate and inflation rate - in historical economics is shortly reviewed. By using the analysis in the Extreme Value Theory, i.e.: the rank order statistics the unemployment and inflation data over countries from various regions are observed. The calculations brought us to conjecture that there exists the general pattern that could lead from the relation between unemployment and inflation rate. However, the difference patterns as observed in the Phillips Curve might could be reflected from the range of values of the local variables of the incorporated model.\u

Effects of Biochar Amendment and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Inoculation on Availability of Soil Phosphorus and Growth of Maize

A glasshouse experiment was conducted to study the interactive effects of biochar amendment and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation on phosphorus uptake by maize (Zea mayze L.) grown on a calcareous soil of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The biochar was made of cow dung. Twelve treatment combinations (three biochars levels of 0, 5 and 7.5 g/kg of soil, and four AMF inoculation levels of 0, 5, 10 and 15 spores / kg of soil) were arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replicates. Results of the study showed that at 8 weeks after transplanting, the biochar and mycorrhizal treatments increased the availability soil phosphorus and phosphorus uptake by maize. Application 4.5 and 7.5 g biochar/kg of soil combined with inoculation of 10-15 AMF spores / kg of soil provided to high value of phosphorus uptake by maize. Application of biochar alone, however, did not significantly improve maize growth and phosphorus uptake by maize
