Exploring Business Intelligent Indexes of a Korean Style Theme Restaurant Taiwan
Recently, the major development of food & beverage management information system had changed from the point-of-sale (POS) system for stand-alone restaurant to the combination of headquarter control mechanism and E-commerce operation strategy (also called chain-integration applications). Development of enterprise business intelligence (BI) becomes one of the strategic solutions as facing the complex competition business environment. The goal of this paper is to explore the business intelligent indexes of a Korean style theme restaurant in Taiwan and verify some of these indexes by analyze the business data of this restaurant. Four research methods will be used in this paper including literature analysis, site observation, case interview and business data analysis. This paper proposed 18 operation KPIs which are sorted out with Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept for the target restaurant. The constraint business financial data at two months of this restaurant were used to verify the effectiveness of proposed KPIs. Results of this paper showed that the expected operation KPIs are effective and concentrate much more in the financial and customer dimensions
Silicon clusters produced by femtosecond laser ablation: Non-thermal emission and gas-phase condensation
Neutral silicon clusters Si_n (up to n = 7) and their cations Si_n+ (up to n
= 10) have been produced by femtosecond laser ablation of bulk silicon in
vacuum and investigated using time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Two populations
of the Si_n+ clusters with different velocity and abundance distributions in
the ablation plume have been clearly distinguished. Possible mechanisms of
cluster formation (Coulomb explosion, gas-phase condensation, phase explosion)
are discussed
Eucalyptus-derived essential oils alleviate microbes and modulate inflammation by suppressing superoxide and elastase release
The Eucalyptus tree, belonging to the myrtle family, grows all over the world for its pharmaceutical and industrial benefits. In this article, we present a comparative analysis of the chemical composition of the hydrodistilled oils obtained from three different Eucalyptus species growing in Egypt viz. E. citriodora, E. camaldulensis, and E. ficifolia. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometric guided analysis resulted in the identification of a total of 20 metabolites in E. citriodora oil with citronellal (54.9%) and citronellol (25.4%) being the most dominant components. β-cymene (12.7%) and 1,8-cineole (11.7%) were the major volatile constituents identified in E. camaldulensis oil, while trans-β-ocimene (22.4%), 1,8-cineole (13.5%), and L-trans-pinocarveol (12.5%) were the dominating components in the oil of E. ficifolia. The essential oils of the studied species were evaluated for their in vitro anti-inflammatory, antiviral including anti-SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2), antibacterial, and antifungal activities. E. citriodora oil displayed the highest inhibitory activity on the release of the superoxide radical (32%) and elastase enzyme (31%) in human neutrophils, while E. ficifolia oil had enhancing effects on elastase. The latter showed significant antiviral effects against hepatitis A, herpes simplex, and coxsackie viruses with IC50 values at 2.1, 2.5, and 5.6 μg/mL, respectively. Moderate antibacterial and antifungal activities were observed for Eucalyptus oils with Staphylococcus aureus being the most susceptible bacterial strain. E. ficifolia oil, similarly, displayed the best antibacterial activity with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value at ca. 25 μg/mL (for S. aureus). On the contrary, E. camaldulensis oil was the most active against Candida albicans with an MIC value at 45 μg/mL. In silico studies were performed with a number of macromolecular drug targets for confirming the biological activities of the identified compounds and for interpreting their ADME (absorption-distribution-metabolism-elimination) parameters

Metamorphic testing: a review of challenges and opportunities
Metamorphic testing is an approach to both test case generation and test result verification. A central element is a set of metamorphic relations, which are necessary properties of the target function or algorithm in relation to multiple inputs and their expected outputs. Since its first publication, we have witnessed a rapidly increasing body of work examining metamorphic testing from various perspectives, including metamorphic relation identification, test case generation, integration with other software engineering techniques, and the validation and evaluation of software systems. In this paper, we review the current research of metamorphic testing and discuss the challenges yet to be addressed. We also present visions for further improvement of metamorphic testing and highlight opportunities for new research

The definitive version was published in Journal of the Acoustical Society of America 131 (2012): 1762-1781, doi:10.1121/1.3672644.To understand the issues associated with the presence (or lack) of azimuthal isotropy and horizontal (along isobath) invariance of low-frequency (center frequencies of 600 Hz and 900 Hz) acoustic propagation in a shelfbreak environment, a series of experiments were conducted under the Autonomous Wide-Aperture Cluster for Surveillance component of the Shallow Water 2006 experiment. Transmission loss data reported here were from two mobile acoustic sources executing (nearly) circular tracks transmitting to sonobuoy receivers in the circle centers, and from one 12.5 km alongshelf acoustic track. The circle radii were 7.5 km. Data are from September 8, 2006. Details of the acoustic and environmental measurements are presented. Simple analytic and computer models are used to assess the variability expected due to the ocean and seabed conditions encountered. A comparison of model results and data is made, which shows preliminary consistency between the data and the models, but also points towards further work that should be undertaken specifically in enlarging the range and frequency parameter space, and in looking at integrated transmission loss.Office of Naval Research Code 32
Monte Carlo study of Si(111) homoepitaxy
An attempt is made to simulate the homoepitaxial growth of a Si(111) surface
by the kinetic Monte Carlo method in which the standard Solid-on-Solid model
and the planar model of the (7x7) surface reconstruction are used in
combination.
By taking account of surface reconstructions as well as atomic deposition and
migrations, it is shown that the effect of a coorparative stacking

Cyclic Alopecia and Abnormal Epidermal Cornification in Zdhhc13-Deficient Mice Reveal the Importance of Palmitoylation in Hair and Skin Differentiation
Many biochemical pathways involved in hair and skin development have not been investigated. Here, we reported on the lesions and investigated the mechanism underlying hair and skin abnormalities in Zdhhc13skc4 mice with a deficiency in DHHC13, a palmitoyl-acyl transferase encoded by Zdhhc13. Homozygous affected mice showed ragged and dilapidated cuticle of the hair shaft (CUH, a hair anchoring structure), poor hair anchoring ability, and premature hair loss at early telogen phase of the hair cycle, resulting in cyclic alopecia. Furthermore, the homozygous affected mice exhibited hyperproliferation of the epidermis, disturbed cornification, fragile cornified envelope (CE, a skin barrier structure), and impaired skin barrier function. Biochemical investigations revealed that cornifelin, which contains five palmitoylation sites at cysteine residues (C58, C59, C60, C95, and C101), was a specific substrate of DHHC13 and that it was absent in the CUH and CE structures of the affected mice. Furthermore, cornifelin levels were markedly reduced when two palmitoylated cysteines were replaced with serine (C95S and C101S). Taken together, our results suggest that DHHC13 is important for hair anchoring and skin barrier function and that cornifelin deficiency contributes to cyclic alopecia and skin abnormalities in Zdhhc13skc4 mice
Visualization of membrane loss during the shrinkage of giant vesicles under electropulsation
We study the effect of permeabilizing electric fields applied to two
different types of giant unilamellar vesicles, the first formed from EggPC
lipids and the second formed from DOPC lipids. Experiments on vesicles of both
lipid types show a decrease in vesicle radius which is interpreted as being due
to lipid loss during the permeabilization process. We show that the decrease in
size can be qualitatively explained as a loss of lipid area which is
proportional to the area of the vesicle which is permeabilized. Three possible
mechanisms responsible for lipid loss were directly observed: pore formation,
vesicle formation and tubule formation.Comment: Final published versio
