    Assessment of critical success factors transformation in ERP projects

    The high value of ERP projects for business, as well as the high risks associated with these projects implementation, requires studying the success drivers of ERP projects and developing a methodology to assess potential transformation of success factors into risk factors in a phased project diagnosis on different life cycle stages. The paper defines and systematizes the key factors, which influence the results of ERP system implementation. The main approaches used are as follows: logical modeling, statistical techniques, heuristic techniques, such as questionnaires, interviews of representative groups of IT project managers, human resource managers, heads of technical and business units, that allowed to authors prove the most important critical success factors relating to human resources management. Research of the 22 autonomous critical factors grouped by key players and activities; the authors defined two independent criteria that determine the nature of critical factors effects on project results and present a methodology to assess the potential human-related (“soft”) critical success factors of ERP projects and their transformation into factors of risk. The results could be of use to business executives, business consultants, managers and professionals, providing them with an effective tool to identify and eliminate causes that threaten the project success. © 2016 Pecherskaya et al

    Phylogenetic Diversity of Urban Floras in the Central Urals

    Modern cities harbor a high diversity of plants, and urban floras are significantly different from non-urban floras especially when considering the proportion of alien species found in cities. However, it is not clear whether urban areas disproportionately select for species from relatively few evolutionary lineages or provide opportunities for species across the full spectrum of plant lineages. Here, we examined the taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity of the floras in four cities (Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralsky, Krasnoufimsk, and Turinsk) in the understudied region of Central Urals (Russian Federation). We classified native species into indigenous and apophytic species, namely, those that are sensitive to anthropogenic disturbance and those that have expanded their range with human activity, respectively. Alien species were classified into archaeophytes and neophytes according to when they were introduced (i.e., before or after than 1800). Phylogenetic diversity was quantified using Faith’s index to reflect total evolutionary history in urban areas and mean phylogenetic distance (MPD) to reflect species dissimilarity. Phylogenetic diversity of native species was higher than that for alien species, and the standardized effect size (SES) of MPD for natives was positive, reflecting their general dissimilarity from one another, while it was very negative for aliens, showing that they were phylogenetically clustered. However, among natives, apophytes were significantly clustered, while indigenous species were overdispersed. For the aliens, MPD was higher for archaeophytes compared to neophytes, though both groups were significantly clustered. These results show that urbanization leads to a non-random selection of plants.     A Database of Weed Plants in the European Part of Russia

    Weeds are plants that, although not specially cultivated, grow and often adapt to growing in arable lands. They form an ecological variant of flora, as a historically-formed set of species growing on cultivated soils. For the rational use of the chemical and biological crop protection products and to produce safe and high-quality food, up-to-date data on the floristic diversity of weeds and the patterns of its geographical change are required. The need for a weeds' database arises that allows many specialists to work together independently. However, the great value of any database lies not in its existence, but in the accumulation of data that can be used to analyse the factors affecting the species diversity of weeds. New information A dataset of weed species diversity and their distribution in the European part of Russia, based on the results of the authors' own research from 1999 to 2019, has been created. The dataset includes 24,284 observations of occurrences of weed plants, which were obtained on the basis of 2,049 relevés of segetal plant communities in seven regions of the European part of Russia. In total, the dataset includes information about 329 species of vascular plants growing in 65 farmlands: cereals, spring and winter crops, industrial crops, row crops and perennial grasses (Tretyakova et al. 2020). © Tretyakova A et al.     The authors' data on the weed species composition in 8 geographic regions of the Russian Federation were laid at the basis of this survey. The segetal flora comprised weeds of cereals, root crops, and perennial grasses. The composition and taxonomic structure of weed species were analyzed. The total number of weedy plants encompassed 686 plant species. The level of regional weed species diversity was positively related to the area planted. Altai Territory, Udmurtia, and Rostov Province had the greatest weed species diversity, with more than 300 species, while Vologda Province had the lowest diversity (193 species). Most species-rich plant families (Asteraceae Dumort., Poaceae Barnhart, Fabaceae Lindl., Brassicaceae Burnet), genera (Potentila L., Artemisia L., Veronica L., Chenopodium L., Silene L., Trifolium L.), their subsequences, contributions of single-species families (17-39%) and genera (57-74%) were relatively stable systematic structure indicators. Only 18% of the species were common for all the regions. In each region there were region-specific groups of species. Weed species compositions in geographically close regions - the European part of Russia and the Urals - showed the greatest similarity. As for geographically distant regions (Altai Territory and Rostov Province), their weedy species compositions were distant and contained large groups of region-specific species. © 2020 All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources -Federal Research Center.     Pteridophyte Distribution of the Urals and Adjacent Areas: a Dataset

    Background Data on the species diversity and distribution of pteridophytes (lycophytes and ferns) in the Urals and adjacent areas are presented. The dataset includes 13,742 observations of two classes Lycopodiopsida and Polypodiopsida. In total, the dataset contains information on 16 families, 28 generas, 65 species, four subspecies and nine interspecies hybrids. All records are for lycophytes and ferns collected over 170 years between 1853 and 2021. The dataset presented is based on herbarium specimens, published data and field research conducted by the authors. This dataset is the first and important step towards generalising information on the current diversity and geographical distribution of pteridophytes in the Urals and adjacent areas. © Melnikov D et al.     The elastic properties of the vascular wall and inflammatory biochemical parameters in hypertensive patients with abdominal obesity

    The study involved 125 patients (male and female) aged 47.67 ± 8.69 years. The patients were divided into 2 groups: group I - patients with hypertension n = 51 (AH ). group II - patients with hypertensive patients with abdom inal obesity (AH with AO) n=74 The structural parameters ot the vascular wall were evaluated by sphygmography on the unit VASERA V S -1000 «FUCUDA»; evaluated biochemical parameters — total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein, triglycerides, MDA (MD) and inflammatory markers - homocysteine HS-CRP Initially, in the second group of patients showed a significant breach of the elastic properties ot the vascular wall (PWV-R / L. CAVI). exceeding the level of atherogenic lipid parameters (total cholesterol, low-density lipiproteiny) and inflammatory markers ( high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, homocysteine) compared to the first group. By logistic regression identified the biochemical predictors indicative of impaired elastic properties of the vascular wall.Обследовано 125 пациентов (мужского и женского пола) в возрасте 47.67+ 8,69 лет. Пациенты распределены в 2 группы. 1-я группа - больные с артериальной гипертонией (АГ I-III степени без метаболических нарушений) n = 5 1 ,2 -я группа - бопьные артериальной гипертонией с абдоминальным ожирением (АО) n=74. Исследовали эластические параметры сосудистой стенки методом сфигмографии на аппарате VASERA VS-1 ООО «FUCUDA»; биохимические показатели — общий холестерин, пипопротеины низкой плотности, липопротеины высокой плотности, триглицериды , МДА (MD) и воспалительные маркеры - гомоцистеин и hS-CRP.     Quantification of the 2-Deoxyribonolactone and Nucleoside 5 '-Aldehyde Products of 2-Deoxyribose Oxidation in DNA and Cells by Isotope-Dilution Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry: Differential Effects of gamma-Radiation and Fe2+-EDTA

    The oxidation of 2-deoxyribose in DNA has emerged as a critical determinant of the cellular toxicity of oxidative damage to DNA, with oxidation of each carbon producing a unique spectrum of electrophilic products. We have developed and validated an isotope-dilution gas chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry (GC−MS) method for the rigorous quantification of two major 2-deoxyribose oxidation products: the 2-deoxyribonolactone abasic site of 1′-oxidation and the nucleoside 5′-aldehyde of 5′-oxidation chemistry. The method entails elimination of these products as 5-methylene-2(5H)-furanone (5MF) and furfural, respectively, followed by derivatization with pentafluorophenylhydrazine (PFPH), addition of isotopically labeled PFPH derivatives as internal standards, extraction of the derivatives, and quantification by GC−MS analysis. The precision and accuracy of the method were validated with oligodeoxynucleotides containing the 2-deoxyribonolactone and nucleoside 5′-aldehyde lesions. Further, the well-defined 2-deoxyribose oxidation chemistry of the enediyne antibiotics, neocarzinostatin and calicheamicin γ1I, was exploited in control studies, with neocarzinostatin producing 10 2-deoxyribonolactone and 300 nucleoside 5′-aldehyde per 106 nt per μM in accord with its established minor 1′- and major 5′-oxidation chemistry. Calicheamicin unexpectedly caused 1′-oxidation at a low level of 10 2-deoxyribonolactone per 106 nt per μM in addition to the expected predominance of 5′-oxidation at 560 nucleoside 5′-aldehyde per 106 nt per μM. The two hydroxyl radical-mediated DNA oxidants, γ-radiation and Fe2+−EDTA, produced nucleoside 5′-aldehyde at a frequency of 57 per 106 nt per Gy (G-value 74 nmol/J) and 3.5 per 106 nt per μM, respectively, which amounted to 40% and 35%, respectively, of total 2-deoxyribose oxidation as measured by a plasmid nicking assay. However, γ-radiation and Fe2+−EDTA produced different proportions of 2-deoxyribonolactone at 7% and 24% of total 2-deoxyribose oxidation, respectively, with frequencies of 10 lesions per 106 nt per Gy (G-value, 13 nmol/J) and 2.4 lesions per 106 nt per μM. Studies in TK6 human lymphoblastoid cells, in which the analytical data were corrected for losses sustained during DNA isolation, revealed background levels of 2-deoxyribonolactone and nucleoside 5′-aldehyde of 9.7 and 73 lesions per 106 nt, respectively. γ-Irradiation of the cells caused increases of 0.045 and 0.22 lesions per 106 nt per Gy, respectively, which represents a 250-fold quenching effect of the cellular environment similar to that observed in previous studies. The proportions of the various 2-deoxyribose oxidation products generated by γ-radiation are similar for purified DNA and cells.
