Medir la sostenibilidad urbana a escalas intermedias: compacidad-proximidad y habitabilidad-accesibilidad

L’article proposa una reflexió sobre què condicions mitges de la sostenibilitat poden donar-se en base i per a les escales intermitges, amb l’objectiu que aquestes condicions permetin una reflexió operativa que serveixi per utilitzar-la en l’urbanisme i millorar el nivell dels plans i dels projectes, tant en ciutats intermitges com en les trames urbanes d’aquesta escala, de les grans ciutats. Els criteris i les reflexions estan basades en graus i índexs sobre els dos binomis: compacitat i proximitat / habitabilitat i accessibilitat. Aquests en permeten no només mesurar a escala física sinó també comparar ciutats fàcilment, ja que el treball en xarxa de professionals i de la Càtedra UNESCO sobre les CIMES o ciutats intermitges té un nivell internacional i una dimensió proactiva. Amb això es volen aportar avenços metodològics en els fòrums i en els escenaris de treball global, per tal d’aconseguir un millor desenvolupament humà local, més sostenible i harmònic, d’acord amb els Objectius del Mil·lenni de les Nacions Unides.El artículo propone una reflexión sobre qué condiciones de medida de la sostenibilidad pueden darse en base y para las escalas intermedias, con el objetivo de que esas condiciones permitan una reflexión operativa que sirva para utilizarla en el urbanismo y mejorar el nivel de los planes y de los proyectos tanto en ciudades intermedias como en las tramas urbanas de esa escala, de las grandes ciudades. Los criterios y las reflexiones están basadas en grados e índices sobre los dos binomios: compacidad y proximidad / habitabilidad y accesibilidad. Estos permiten no sólo medir a escala física sino también comparar ciudades fácilmente, puesto que el trabajo en red de profesionales y de la Cátedra UNESCO sobre las CIMES o ciudades intermedias tiene un nivel internacional y una dimensión proactiva. Con ello se quiere aportar avances metodológicos en los foros y en las escenas de trabajo global, para lograr un mejor desarrollo humano local, más sostenible y harmónico, de acuerdo con los Objetivos del Milenio de las Naciones Unidas.This article explores the conditions for measuring sustainability that occur at intermediate scales, with the goal of enabling an operational reflection that can be applied to improve the quality of urban development plans and projects. This reflection should consider intermediate cities and urban areas, as well as large cities. The criteria and reflections presented in this article are based on degrees and indices related to the relationships between compactness and proximity, on the one hand, and habitability and accessibility, on the other. These relationships make it possible to measure sustainability at the physical scale and to compare the conditions in different cities without difficulty. A network of professionals is working proactively at the international level with the UNESCO Chair on the topic of intermediate cities. The goal of their work is to contribute methodological advances to the forums and venues where global work is being conducted, in order to make local human development better, more sustainable, more harmonious, and aligned with the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.Peer Reviewe

Resolution test of GOCE satellite data applied to density anomalies at crustal and upper mantle levels

The Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) satellite mission was devised by the European Space Agency to study the Earth’s gravity field with an unprecedented accuracy using gravity gradient data. The goal of this study is to analyze the resolution in terms of size, burial depth and density contrast of anomalous bodies related to geological structures that can be identified from GOCE data. A parametric study is performed by calculating the gravity gradients associated with rectangular prisms with fixed aspect ratio of 9:3:1 and varying the size, burial depth, and density contrast, selecting those structures showing amplitudes and wavelength variations comparable to the accuracy of GOCE data. Results show that the minimum size for crustal anomalies to be resolved for the vertical component of the gravity gradient is 22.5x7.5x2.5km for a Δρ=500kg/m3 , burial depth of 0km, and at computation height of 255km. To generate a sufficient signal in amplitude and wavelength in all the components, the size of the anomalous body is 270x90x30km. For a body with Δρ=50kg/m3 and 0km burial depth a minimum size of 41.4x13.8x4.6km is required for the vertical component at a computation height of 255km. In addition, the application to the 3D case of a passive continental margin which broadly resembles the crustal structure of the NW-Iberia shows that the signal of all gravity gradient components is dominated by the crustal thinning associated with the passive continental margins and the corresponding isostatic response

Criterios de determinación de la competencia internacional en supuestos de sucesiones en el ámbito de la ue

Gemäss der verfügbaren Angaben wird jährlich eine hohe Zahl von internationalen Erbfällen in der europäischen Union behandelt. Es gibt keine europäische Rechtsordnung auf diesem Gebiet und man darf behaupten, dass die Behandlung der internationalen Zuständigkeit bei grenzüberschreitenden Erbfällen aktuell wegen verschiedener Gründe nicht zufrieden stellend ist. In der vorliegenden Dissertation versucht man, die Nachforschung der internationalen Zuständigkeit aus einer rechtsvergleichenden Perspektive als Inspiration für die europäische Verordnung in Erbsachen anzuwenden. Ausserdem werden die verschiedenen und zahlreichen im Zusammenhang mit dem Vorschlag der EG-Komission für eine europäische Verordnung vom 14.10.2009 stehenden Dokumente und Aufsätze untersucht. Die zukünftige Verordnung in Erbsachen muss die Besonderheit und Wichtigkeit der internationalen Zuständigkeit respektieren und ihre Ermittlung nach den Werten und Prinzipien richten, die dieses Gebiet charakterisieren
