Szívbetegek érzelmi-hangulati állapotának jellegzetességei szívműtét előtt és után

Számos tanulmány szerint nyitott szívműtét után a betegek nagy aránya mutat szorongásos és depressziós tüneteket, más vizsgálatok viszont azt mutatják, hogy a szívbetegek pszichológiai zavarai a műtét előtt is fennállnak. Vizsgálatunkban 97 szívkoszorúér-műtéten átesett beteg (átlagéletkor 55,6 év) esetében mértük fel a szorongás és depresszió mértékét, illetve előfordulásának gyakoriságát az operáció előtt és azt követően 6 héttel később, nem műtéti kontrollcsoporttal összehasonlítva. A szorongás mérésére a Spielberger-féle állapot- és vonásszorongás, a depresszió mérésére pedig a Beck-féle depresszió kérdőíveket alkalmaztuk. A szívbetegcsoport magas állapotszorongása a műtét előtt a beavatkozás okozta stressz következménye, amely a műtét után jelentősen csökkent, és elérte a kontrollcsoport állapotszorongásának szintjét. Ugyanakkor a vonásszorongás és a depresszió a műtét előtt és műtét után szignifikánsan magasabb értéket mutatott a kontrollcsoporthoz viszonyítva. Eredményeink arra utalnak, hogy a betegek kedvezőtlen érzelmi-hangulati állapota nem a műtét következménye, hanem inkább a szívbetegség velejárója, illetve rizikótényezője

Determination of fully N-methylated compound in different cabbage and beetroot varieties

It is proved that antioxidants have an important role in preventing cell damage-cancer, senescence and many other alterations leading to diseases. Supplementing the first pieces of experience and observations with scientific investigations has shown that food contains several components which may strengthen the common physiological functions, enhance the natural protecting systems of the body and the elimination of reactive radicals. The pyramid illustrating the “antioxidant” nutritional recommendations is based on vegetables and fruits. It is a proven fact that consuming these vegetables can restrict the absorption of carcinogenous substances and inhibit cell mutation. Cabbage and beetroot have long been used in folk medicine due to their widely known beneficial effects on human health. We carried out investigations comparing different varieties of beetroot and cabbage grown in identical circumstances. During the comparison of the quantity of quaternary ammonium compounds in cabbage varieties we have found the highest concentration of choline, while in beetroot varieties we have measured significant amount of betaine. Our results reveal well-detectable, significant differences among the analysed varieties (of both vegetable plants) which may be used in selecting the varieties most valuable with regard to human nutrition

Värde och förmåga i aktiviteter hos äldre med depression – en subjektiv skattning med Min mening

Bakgrund: Antalet äldre människor i samhället ökar, 12-15 % av den äldre befolkningen har en depression. Att vara äldre och ha en depression påverkar aktivitetsförmågan på många sätt. Forskning på hur äldre med depression upplever sin aktivitetsförmåga är begränsad och för att kunna förbättra arbetsterapeutiska interventioner och bredda behandlingsutbudet är det viktigt att undersöka. Syfte: Undersöka hur äldre personer med depression beskriver och skattar sin aktivitetsförmåga och hur de värderar betydelsen av olika dagliga aktiviteter. Metod: En tvärsnittstudie med kvantitativ ansats gjordes med självskattningsinstrumentet ”Min Mening”. Datan analyserades statistiskt och redovisades i frekvenstabeller utifrån MOHO. Resultat: Alla aktiviteter som skattades värderades som mycket viktiga eller viktiga, med få undantag. Vad gäller problem så var uppfattningen mera spridd, men hälften ansåg det vara problem att hitta tillfällen att göra saker de uppskattar och tycker om. Konklusion: Det behövs fler studier på äldre med depression och hur de upplever sin aktivitetsförmåga och deras syn på lustfyllda och avkopplande aktiviteter

Villa Berg

The functionalism started in southern Europe after world war one and got its breakthrough in Sweden with the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930. Poverty caused many people living in overcrowded conditions which the functionalists wanted to change by using less expensive materials and giving healthier living conditions to the people. The industrialization brought new materials and working methods which made this possible. The Swedish functional style is recognised by its light plaster facing and nearly horizontal roofs. Also the garden design of that time was influenced by the functionalistic ideas. The garden was now introduced as a pleasure garden for not only the rich but for everyone. The form of the garden should be designed with the function in mind and not the opposite as it was before. The garden should be designed with the surrounding landscape in mind, more native plants were used. Villa Berg, located in Tyresö south of Stockholm, is a house inspired by the ideas of the Swedish functionalism. In true functional style a functional plan was produce in cooperation with the family who lives in the house. The functional plan has been the starting point and foundation for the design of the garden that now have a fastidious and modern feeling.Funktionalismen uppstod på kontinenten efter första världskriget och fick sitt stora genombrott i Sverige i samband med Stockholmsutställningen 1930. Fattigdomen var stor under denna tid vilket ledde till bl.a. trångboddhet vilket funktionalisterna ville förändra. Industrialiseringen som dragit genom Europa förde med sig nya material och arbetssätt som funktionalisterna utnyttjade i sin strävan att erbjuda ett hälsosammare och billigare boende åt människorna i framförallt storstäderna. ”Funkisen” blev ett begrepp och kännetecknades i arkitekturen av ljusputsade fasader, geometriska former och flacka tak. Även trädgårdskonsten påverkades av funktionalisternas ideal, trädgården som rum att vistas i blev till för allmänheten och inte bara för de rika. Nytt var att trädgårdens form skulle styras av vilken funktion trädgården skulle ha och inte som tidigare då formen ofta styrde funktionen. Trädgårdarna anpassades också till landskapet mer än de gjorts tidigare och det blev populärt att använda ett mer inhemskt växtmaterial. Villa Berg i Tyresö söder om Stockholm är ett funkisinspirerat hus byggt 2003-2004. I sann funkisanda har en funktionsplan, framtagen tillsammans med fastighetsägarna familjen Berg, fått ligga till grund för ett gestaltningsförslag till Villa Bergs trädgård. Med funktionsplanen som stomme har Villa Berg fått en trädgård med rena enkla linjer och ett växtmaterial som känns modernt men som ändå har kopplingar till funktionalismen

A case study of reporting business KPIs of gaming data through static and interactive visualizations

Gaming companies, especially due to the high volume of ingame event logs, generate terabytes of data on a daily basis, which not only need to be distributed in fast and reliable access but also need to be aggregated and visualized in a timely and useful way to help the production engineers make data-driven improvements and bring business decisions. As such a high volume of data is created every day with an astonishing speed, it becomes highly challenging to process, aggregate and showcases the data in a supporting manner for business decision making. For that reason, business intelligence approaches like visualizations, in order to explore and analyse game-related data, need to find an optimal way of capturing the most out of such diverse and voluminous dataset both from a data perspective as well as from the point of view of the end-user. This, in reality, is a rather complex and many times a seemingly irrelevant job for companies that need to keep up anyhow with the daily income of the terabytes. As a result, companies not only end up having Key Performance Indicators visualized in the simplest forms of tables but also face the burden to store more data than needed in expensive data warehouses. In this thesis, we are going to propose a guideline for a business information visualization pipeline based on a practical use-case of a real-world gaming company. We present a pipeline that is not only built on top of the available data but also takes into consideration the cognitive processes involved in finding answers in visualizations and follows a task-driven structure. Furthermore, we are going to test which combination of view management and coordination helps better to deliver more accurate responses and a more acceptable system for decision making. The purpose is not only to create effective visualization and provide a guideline for a pipeline but to find bottlenecks and points of failure that have an indirect effect on the efficiency of the outcome. It is critical to search for latent points of failures to improve upon pipelines that are near to a highly efficient and effective visualization that serves business intelligence with high turnover

A szarko/endoplazmatikus retikulum Ca2+ ATPáz 3 szerkezet-elemzése és a nem-izom típusú sejtek Ca2+ -transzport fehérje készletének változásai sejtdifferenciáció során = Structural study of the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase 3 proteins and the modulation of the machinery of Ca2+-transport proteins during the differentiation of non-muscle cells

A Ca2+ függő sejtélettani folyamatok szabályozásában fontos szerepet betöltő szarko/endoplazmás retikulum (SERCA) és plazmamembrán (PMCA) Ca2+ATPázokat vizsgáltuk. Endogén, valamint vad típusú és mutáns rekombináns SERCA3 fehérjék tripszines proteolízisét elemezve kimutattuk két, kinetikailag eltérő fragmentációs profil párhuzamos megjelenését. Irányított mutagenezissel azonosítottunk néhány tripszines hasítási helyet. Eredményeink arra utalnak, hogy natív membránkörnyezetben a fragmentációs profilok a SERCA3 fehérje eltérő konformációs állapotaihoz rendelhetőek. Korábbi munkáinkhoz kapcsolódva elemeztük a gyomor-/béltumorsejtek differenciációja, és a SERCA és PMCA fehérjék expressziója, funkciója közötti összefüggéseket. Számos differenciációs modellben igazoltuk, hogy az éretlen sejtekben alacsony szinten kifejeződő SERCA3 és PMCA4b izoformák expressziója erősen indukálódik a tumorsejtek differenciációja során. A SERCA fehérjék funkcionális gátlása elősegítette egyes béltumorsejtek differenciációját. A béltumorok kialakulásában fontos APC/b-katenin/TCF4 jelátviteli út gátlása indukálta a SERCA3 expressziót. Különböző stádiumú béltumorokból nyert szöveti metszetek immunhisztokémiai vizsgálatai szerint a SERCA3 expresszió defektusa már a tumorok kialakulásának korai szakaszában jelentkezik. Eredményeink alapján felvetjük annak lehetőségét, hogy a gyomor-/béltraktusban egyes Ca2+ transzporterek, mint markerfehérjék, segíthetik malignus elváltozások kialakulásának és fenotípusának meghatározását, és diagnosztikai fejlesztések potenciális célpontjai lehetnek. | We studied the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum (SERCA) and plasma membrane (PMCA) Ca2+ATPases. The proper functions of these proteins are essential in the regulation of Ca2+-dependent cellular processes. Limited tryptic digestion of endogenously expressed or wild-type and mutant recombinant SERCA3 proteins resulted in two distinct fragmentation profiles. Using site-directed mutagenesis approach some of the tryptic sites were determined. Our data indicated that the SERCA3 fragmentation profiles were related to different conformational states of the enzyme. To further explore our previous work, we investigated the expression and function of various SERCA and PMCA isoforms during the differentiation of gastric/colon cancer cells. Using a wide range of model cells and differentiation protocols, strong induction of SERCA3 and PMCA4b expression were detected in differentiating cancer cells. Inhibition of SERCA function induced the maturation of colon cancer cells. Inhibition of the APC/b-catenin/TCF4 signaling pathway, essential during colon carcinogenesis, resulted in up-regulated SERCA3 expression. Immunohystochemical analysis of various tissue sections from colonic lesions, adenomas and adenocarcinomas showed that loss of SERCA3 expression is an early event during colon carcinogenesis. Our data suggest that some Ca2+ transport proteins could serve as new biomarkers for the analysis of the formation and phenotype of gastric/colon tumors, and should help in novel diagnostic development
