    Trace and antitrace maps for aperiodic sequences, their extensions and applications

    We study aperiodic systems based on substitution rules by means of a transfer-matrix approach. In addition to the well-known trace map, we investigate the so-called `antitrace' map, which is the corresponding map for the difference of the off-diagonal elements of the 2x2 transfer matrix. The antitrace maps are obtained for various binary, ternary and quaternary aperiodic sequences, such as the Fibonacci, Thue-Morse, period-doubling, Rudin-Shapiro sequences, and certain generalizations. For arbitrary substitution rules, we show that not only trace maps, but also antitrace maps exist. The dimension of the our antitrace map is r(r+1)/2, where r denotes the number of basic letters in the aperiodic sequence. Analogous maps for specific matrix elements of the transfer matrix can also be constructed, but the maps for the off-diagonal elements and for the difference of the diagonal elements coincide with the antitrace map. Thus, from the trace and antitrace map, we can determine any physical quantity related to the global transfer matrix of the system.     Research on citizen participation of public information service platform amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in China

    Facing the global epidemic prevention and control situation, public information services are an important part of ensuring the smooth operation of the government and the normal life of citizens. Among them, Internet companies assume a significant part in assisting with uncovering epidemiological information, such as the "same journey query"platform that can query the public transportation itinerary of patients with pneumonia suspected diagnosis. Citizens can understand their health status and make independent declarations to avoid the spread of immunity. To better understand the requirements, willingness, and elements impacting citizen participation, this study constructs a citizen participation model based on the public service system, combined with the Chinese government's public information interactive management process. Through empirical analysis of the survey data, it is discovered that expectations and perceived quality are the key factors that can significantly affect public participation. It can be concluded that improving the quality of the platform and public expectations will help increase public satisfaction and trust, and ultimately increase public participation. The result is conducive to the better participation of enterprises, governments, and citizens in public information services, and gives insight to future related research

    Pulmonary Nodule Classification Based on Heterogeneous Features Learning

    IEEE Pulmonary cancer is one of the most dangerous cancers with a high incidence and mortality. An early accurate diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary cancer can observably increase the survival rates, where computer-aided diagnosis systems can largely improve the efficiency of radiologists. In this paper, we propose a deep automated lung nodule diagnosis system based on three-dimensional convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) and support vector machine (SVM) with multiple kernel learning (MKL) algorithms. The system not only explores the computed tomography (CT) scans, but also the clinical information of patients like age, smoking history and cancer history. To extract deeper image features, a 34-layers 3D Residual Network (3D-ResNet) is employed. Heterogeneous features including the extracted image features and the clinical data are learned with MKL. The experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed image feature extractor and the combination of heterogeneous features in the task of lung nodule diagnosis

    Effect of transportation duration of 1-day-old chicks on postplacement production performances and pododermatitis of broilers up to slaughter age

    This experiment studied the effect of transportation duration of 1-d-old chicks on dehydration, mortality, production performance, and pododermatitis during the growout period. Eggs from the same breeder flock (Ross PM3) were collected at 35, 45, and 56 wk of age, for 3 successive identical experiments. In each experiment, newly hatched chicks received 1 of 3 transportation duration treatments from the hatchery before placement in the on-site rearing facility: no transportation corresponding to direct placement in less than 5 min (T00), or 4 (T04) or 10 h (T10) of transportation. The chicks were housed in 35-m2 pens (650 birds each) and reared until 35 d old. Hematocrit and chick BW were measured on sample chicks before and after transportation. During the growout period, bird weight, feed uptake, and feed conversion ratio were measured weekly until slaughter. Transportation duration affected BW; T00 groups had a significantly higher BW than T04 and T10 transported birds but this effect lasted only until d 21. No clear effect on hematocrit, feed uptake, feed conversion ratio, or mortality was observed for birds transported up to 10 h. The decrease in weight in T10 birds was associated with less severe pododermatitis. Increasing age of the breeder flock was correlated with reduced egg fertility and hatchability, and also with higher quality and BW of hatched chicks. Chicks from older breeders also exhibited reduced mortality during the growout period

    Solvable Kinetic Gaussian Model in External Field

    In this paper, the single-spin transition dynamics is used to investigate the kinetic Gaussian model in a periodic external field. We first derive the fundamental dynamic equations, and then treat an isotropic d-dimensional hypercubic lattice Gaussian spin system with Fourier's transformation method. We obtain exactly the local magnetization and the equal-time pair correlation function. The critical characteristics of the dynamical, the complex susceptibility, and the dynamical response are discussed. The results show that the time evolution of the dynamical quantities and the dynamical responses of the system strongly depend on the frequency and the wave vector of the external field.Comment: 11 page

    Measurement of the chi_{c2} Polarization in psi(2S) to gamma chi_{c2}

    The polarization of the chi_{c2} produced in psi(2S) decays into gamma chi_{c2} is measured using a sample of 14*10^6 psi(2S) events collected by BESII at the BEPC. A fit to the chi_{c2} production and decay angular distributions in psi(2S) to gamma chi_{c2}, chi_{c2} to pi pi and KK yields values x=A_1/A_0=2.08+/-0.44 and y=A_2/A_0=3.03 +/-0.66, with a correlation rho=0.92 between them, where A_{0,1,2} are the chi_{c2} helicity amplitudes. The measurement agrees with a pure E1 transition, and M2 and E3 contributions do not differ significantly from zero.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, 1 tabl
