This diploma thesis deals with measurement of vehicle centre of gravity height position. In the first part is created summary of methods used for measuring centre of gravity position and moment of inertia of the vehicle. In the other parts are designed and analyzed two dynamics method of measuring centre of gravity height position. This thesis presents analysis of the errors of the proposed methods, results of measurements and design of the construct adjustments device for measuring of the moments of inertia enabling its used for measuring centre of gravity height position. Some components are through analyse of tension.

Research and implementation of motorcycle simulator controls

The paper is focused on research in the field of motorcycle simulator controls from the rider’s point of view, with a focus on the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of vehicle. The subject of the research is the design and testing of a suitable composition of input signals controlled by the rider and their integration into the virtual scene. The design and testing of the communication interface between the HW simulator and the physical model of the motorcycle is mentioned in the paper as well. Furthermore, the work describes the suitable HMI elements of the motorcycle and their integration options into the simulator system. In conclusion of the article, various variants, and approaches for controlling the developed motorcycle simulator are discussed, including the possibilities of validating the achieved results

ACE gene insertion/deletion polymorphism has a mild influence on the acute development of left ventricular dysfunction in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary PCI

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>We evaluated the associations among angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism, ACE activity and post-myocardial infarction (MI) left ventricular dysfunction and acute heart failure (AHF) early after presentation with MI with ST-segment elevation (STEMI).</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>A total of 556 patients with STEMI treated by primary PCI (421 patients without AHF and 135 patients with AHF) were the study population. The activity of BNP, NT-ProBNP and ACE were measured at hospital admission and 24 h after MI onset. Left ventricular angiography was done before PCI; echocardiography was undertaken between the third and fifth day after MI.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>In comparison with the II genotypes group, the DD/ID group had a higher level of ACE activity upon hospital admission (p < 0.001). We found a significantly higher level of ACE activity in patients with moderate LV dysfunction (EF 40-54%) in comparison both with patients with preserved LV function (EF ≥55%) and with patients with severe LV dysfunction (p = 0.028). A non-significant trend towards a higher incidence of mild AHF (22.1% vs. 16.02%, p = 0,093), a significantly higher value of end-systolic volume (ESV/BSA) (30.0 ± 12.3 vs. 28.5 ± 13.0; p < 0.05) and lower EF (50.2 ± 11.1 vs. 52.7 ± 11.7; p < 0.05) in the DD/ID genotypes group was noted. Even after multiple adjustments according to multivariate models, the EF for the DD/ID group remained significantly lower (p = 0,033). The DD/ID genotypes were associated with a significantly higher risk of EF <45% (OR 2.04 [95% CI 1.28; 3.25]).</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>These results suggest that the I/D polymorphism of ACE is associated with the development of LV dysfunction in the acute phase after STEMI. We demonstrated for the first time an association of the low ACE activity with the severe LV dysfunction, although patients with moderate LV dysfunction had higher level ACE activity than patients with preserved LV function.</p

Multidomain Lifestyle Intervention Strategies for the Delay of Cognitive Impairment in Healthy Aging

    No full text
Present demographic changes demonstrate that the number of elderly people is growing at a frenetic pace. This shift in population consequently results in many social and economic problems, which burden the social and economic systems of countries. The aging process is associated with age-related diseases, the most common of which are dementia and Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease, whose main symptom is a decline in cognitive function, especially memory loss. Unfortunately, it cannot be cured. Therefore, alternative approaches, which are cost-effective, safe, and easy to implement, are being sought in order to delay and prevent cognitive impairment. The purpose of this review was to explore the effect of multidomain lifestyle intervention strategies on the delay and/or prevention of cognitive impairment in healthy older individuals. The methods are based on a literature review of available sources found on the research topic in three acknowledged databases: Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed. The results of the identified original studies reveal that multidomain lifestyle interventions generate significant effects. In addition, these interventions seem feasible, cost-effective, and engaging. Thus, there is a call for the implementation of effective lifestyle prevention programs, which would involve goal-setting and would focus on the prevention of crucial risk factors threatening the target group of elderly people, who are at risk of cognitive decline and dementia

Automatic annotation of English on the tectogrammatical level

Dosa žen e výsledky jsou pozitivní a vybí zejí k pokračov aní v započaté pr áci a jej í mu dal ší mu rozšiřov aní .Tectogrammatical layer is very complex and its annotation is di cult and expensive. Unlike other corpora, the Prague English Dependency Treebank (pedt) is based on data for which there already exists a syntactic annotation, even though a fundamentally di erent one. The goal of this work is to propose and implement methods of automatic annotation that are using the available data and (preferably) would lead to minimization of the e ort needed for a manual annotation. A high-quality evaluation is important so that the contribution of the used methods can be veri ed. Tens of modules, which focus on various aspects of annotation, were created. The analysis of their activity is complicated and required a complex system to be created. The analyses created with it are very detailed. The outcome is positive and urges to continue the work and extend it further.Institute of Formal and Applied LinguisticsÚstav formální a aplikované lingvistikyFaculty of Mathematics and PhysicsMatematicko-fyzikální fakult
