Le couplage phosphore-phosphore dans l'adenosine di- et triphosphate
AbstractThe pH dependence of spin-spin coupling constants JP-O-P of ADP and ATP has been determined from the phosphorus NMR spectra at 0°. The variation curves have been interpreted as titration curves. These give different pK values. Comparison with the tripolyphosphate shows the existence of triphosphate chain structural deformation in the nucleotides

Fungi isolated from soil by washing method counted for ninety three species belonging to fifty six genera, among them: Aspergillus sp., Circinella sp., Cunninghamella sp., Mucor spp., Mycelia sterilia, Rhizopus sp
Standardised surface electromyography allows effective submental muscles assessment
The aims of this pilot study were to evaluate: (i) the reproducibility and variability of an electromyographical protocol developed for the assessment of submental muscles (SM) (ii) to apply the new protocol to maximal teeth clenching, a simple and largely studied static task in order to quantify the relative contribution of submental muscles. In 20 healthy subjects, aged 19-35years, surface electromyography of SM, masseter (MM) and anterior temporalis (TA) muscles was performed during maximal voluntary clenching (MVC) with and without cotton rolls and the pushing of the tongue against the palate. Clenching on cotton rolls and pushing the tongue against the palate were used to standardise respectively MM and TA, and SM muscular potentials. The exercises were repeated in two appointments (T1-T2); submental muscles standardisation was also repeated twice (A-B) in each session to assess repeatability. Symmetry and activity were calculated for each couple of muscles. A two-way analysis of variance was computed for SM: no Factor 1 (T1 vs T2) or Factor 2 (A vs B) or F1
7F2 significant effects were found. SM recruitment was 31% of the maximal activity, with symmetry values larger than 80%. In conclusion, standardised electromyography allows a reliable assessment of Submental muscles activity
Stacked optical antennas for plasmon propagation in a 5 nm-confined cavity
The sub-wavelength concentration and propagation of electromagnetic energy are two complementary aspects of plasmonics that are not necessarily co-present in a single nanosystem. Here we exploit the strong nanofocusing properties of stacked optical antennas in order to highly concentrate the electromagnetic energy into a 5 nm metal-insulator-metal (MIM) cavity and convert free radiation into guided modes. The proposed nano-architecture combines the concentration properties of optical nanoantennas with the propagation capability of MIM systems, paving the way to highly miniaturized on-chip plasmonic waveguiding
Uni-directional transport properties of a serpent billiard
We present a dynamical analysis of a classical billiard chain -- a channel
with parallel semi-circular walls, which can serve as a model for a bended
optical fiber. An interesting feature of this model is the fact that the phase
space separates into two disjoint invariant components corresponding to the
left and right uni-directional motions. Dynamics is decomposed into the jump
map -- a Poincare map between the two ends of a basic cell, and the time
function -- traveling time across a basic cell of a point on a surface of
section. The jump map has a mixed phase space where the relative sizes of the
regular and chaotic components depend on the width of the channel. For a
suitable value of this parameter we can have almost fully chaotic phase space.
We have studied numerically the Lyapunov exponents, time auto-correlation
functions and diffusion of particles along the chain. As a result of a
singularity of the time function we obtain marginally-normal diffusion after we
subtract the average drift. The last result is also supported by some
analytical arguments.Comment: 15 pages, 9 figure (19 .(e)ps files
Bismuth-Based Coordination Polymers with Efficient Aggregation-Induced Phosphorescence and Reversible Mechanochromic Luminescence
Two bismuth coordination polymers (CPs), (TBA)[BiBr4(bp4mo)] (TBA=tetrabutylammonium) and [BiBr3(bp4mo)2], which are based on the rarely used simple ditopic ligand N-oxide-4,4′-bipyridine (bp4mo), show mechanochromic luminescence (MCL). High solid-state phosphorescence quantum yields of up to 85 % were determined for (TBA)[BiBr4(bp4mo)] (λem=540 nm). Thorough investigations of the luminescence properties combined with DFT and TDDFT calculations revealed that the emission is due to aggregation-induced phosphorescence (AIP). Upon grinding, both samples became amorphous, and their luminescence changed from yellow to orange and red, respectively. Heating or exposure to water vapor led to the recovery of the initial luminescence. These materials are the first examples of mechanochromic phosphors based on bismuth(III)
Open and / or laparoscopic surgical treatment of liver hydatic cysts
Hydatid disease is a severe parasitic disease with a widely ranging distribution. In the human being the liver is the most frequent organ affected. 1 The treatment should be individualized to the morphology, size, number and location of the cysts, that is why a variety of surgical operations have been advocated from complete resection like total pericystectomy or partial hepatectomy to laparoscopy to a minimally invasive procedures like percutaneous aspiration of cysts to conservative drug therapy. 3-4 This study compares laparoscopic versus open management of the hydatid cyst of liver the surgical approach to liver echinococcosis is still a controversial issue and shows our results of surgical treatment of liver hydatid cysts during a 3-years period
Aggregation induced phosphorescent N-oxyde-2,2′-bipyridine bismuth complexes and polymorphism-dependent emission
Unprecedented bismuth complexes, based on the rarely used ditopic ligand N-oxide-2,2′-bipyridine (bp2mo), crystallizing as three polymorphs, α- (1), β- (2) and γ-[BiBr3(bp2mo)2] (3), exhibit phosphorescence with a quantum yield up to 17% for the crystal phase (1), while the complex displays a weak fluorescence in solution. A study of the luminescence properties combined with DFT/TDDFT calculations reveals that the lighting phenomenon originated by aggregation induced phosphorescence correlated with the weak intermolecular interactions present in the different crystal phases
Analysis of short-term blood pressure variability in pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma patients
Data on short-term blood pressure variability (BPV), which is a well-established cardiovascular prognostic tool, in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) patients is still lack and conflicting. We retrospectively evaluated 23 PPGL patients referred to our unit from 2010 to 2019 to analyze 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (24-h ABPM)-derived markers of short-term BPV, before and after surgical treatment. PPGL diagnosis was assessed according to guidelines and confirmed by histologic examination. The 24-h ABPM-derived markers of short-term BPV included: circadian pressure rhythm; standard deviation (SD) and weighted SD (wSD) of 24-h, daytime, and night-time systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP); average real variability (ARV) of 24-h, daytime, and night-time systolic and diastolic BP. 7 males and 16 females of 53 ± 18 years old were evaluated. After surgical resection of PPGL we found a significant decrease in 24-h systolic BP ARV (8.8 ± 1.6 vs. 7.6 ± 1.3 mmHg, p < 0.001), in 24-h diastolic BP ARV (7.5 ± 1.6 vs. 6.9 ± 1.4 mmHg, p = 0.031), and in wSD of 24-h diastolic BP (9.7 ± 2.0 vs 8.8 ± 2.1 mmHg, p = 0.050) comparing to baseline measurements. Moreover, baseline 24-h urinary metanephrines significantly correlated with wSD of both 24-h systolic and diastolic BP. Our study highlights as PPGL patients, after proper treatment, show a significant decrease in some short-term BPV markers, which might represent a further cardiovascular risk factor
