    This study determine the contact time, pH, and the optimum concentration of the solution of copper (Cu) and iron (Fe) from skin the plantain (musa sapientum). Advances in the industry today resulted in many human activities that caused increasing impact of the pollution on surrounding of the environment. Environmental pollution by heavy metals being a serious problem along with increasing the use of heavy metals in the industry. The method used in this study was a laboratory experiment using colorimeter. The results showed that the adsorption of copper and iron on the plantain bark influence a time variation of Cu and Fe occurred in the 60 minute and 30 minute (99.64% and 99.54%); variation of pH for Cu and Fe occurrs in pH 4 and pH 3 (99.62% and 99.58%) and variation of concentration for Cu and Fe occurred at 20 ppm and 1 ppm (80.74% and 96.81%), respectively

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa, yaitu rata-rata hasil ulangan harian siswa tahun ajaran 2012/2013 adalah 6,0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan media gambar di kelas II SDN 03 Lakea Kab. Buol. Jumlah siswa sebanyak 30 orang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Rancangan penelitian mengikuti tahap penelitian yang mengacu pada modifikasi diagram Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yaitu 1) Perencanaan tindakan, 2) Pelaksanaan tindakan, 3) Observasi, dan 4) Refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru, lembar observasi siswa, lembar kerja siswa (LKS), dan tes hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar, dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil persentase ketuntasan klasikal 76,7% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 90% pada siklus II. Demikian pula peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar dari 7,2 pada siklus I menjadi 8,1 pada siklus II, serta persentase rata-rata aktivitas guru pada siklus I adalah 65,4% menjadi 86,6% dengan kriteria baik dan aktivitas siswa diperoleh persentase rata-rata 61% pada siklus I menjadi 85% dalam kriteria baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar pada pelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas II SDN 03 Lakea Kab. Buol

    Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mendapatkan informasi yang akurat tentang penerapan metode demonstrasi pada pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDK Padat Karya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan bersifat kolaboratif, tempat penelitian adalah siswa dan guru kelas IV SDK Padat Karya. Rendahnya nilai hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam siswa kelas 1v di Sekolah Dasar Kecil (SDK) Padat Karya Kecamatan Bolano Lambunu menjadi latar belakang dilakukan penelitian ini, hal ini terjadi sebagai akibat kurang maksimal kemampuan guru dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran dan penggunaan media belajar ketika kegiatan belajar mengaja berlangsung.Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam empat tahap kegiatan yaitu Perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi dilaksanakan dua siklus kegiatan; dibantu seorang teman sejawat sebagai observer untukmengamati kegiatan guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklus. Peningkatan tersebut menunjukan bahwa pada aktivitas guru dan siswa pada siklus 1 masuk kategori baik dan pada siklus II aktivitas guru dan siswa berada dalam kategori sangat baik. Adapun hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I pertemuan 1 dilihat dari ketuntasan klasikal meningkat menjadi 36 % (5 dari 14 siswa), pada siklus I pertemuan 2 meningkat menjadi 50 % (7 dari 14 siswa), pada siklus II pertemuan 1 meningkat menjadi 79 % (11 dari 14 siswa) dan pada siklus II pertemuan 2 semakin meningkat menjadi 93 % (13 dari 14 siswa). Dengan demikian penggunaan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDK Padat Karya pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam

    The research was conducted at SMAN 7 Palu for the purpose to improving student learning outcomes of Chemistry through the use of Cooperative Learning Type STAD methods (Student Teams Achievement Division) on the chemistry subject of reaction rate. Population of this research was all students in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 7 Palu academic year 2012/2013, consisting of 3 classes. The sample were in class XI IPA 2 with total 34 students, as the experimental class that used cooperative learning STAD method and class XI IPA 1 with total 37 students as a control class (not used Cooperative learning STAD methods). The data were collected by using the test instrument. The data collecting result use the statistical analysis t-test with the prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity tests. The study shows that the mean value of student learning outcomes use cooperative learning STAD model is 7.66; the mean value of student learning outcomes without using cooperative learning STAD model was 5.57. Based on the hypothesis testing using statistical t-test in the right side earned value thitung > ttabel is 5.36 > 1.66 with degree of freedom = 0.05 and dk = 69. The results shows that the use of cooperative learning STAD model could improve learning outcomes of students in reaction rate of chemistry subject

    Penggunaan Multimedia pada Materi Klasifikasi Zat di Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Palu

    This study was conducted to seek the use of instructional media multimedia-based to supportintegrated science learning especially on chemical materials. This instructional media was used to assistteachers in teaching of chemical materials to improve learning outcomes of students in the class VIIat the State Junior High School 1 Palu. The population in this study were 528 students class VII atthe State Junior High School 1 Palu. The sample in this study was 32 students of class VII M as anexperimental class and 33 students of class VII K as the control class. The results of the data analysisobtained an average value (χ1) of experiment class was 84.96 with a standard deviation of 6.21 and theaverage value (χ2)of control class was 82.16 with a standard deviation of 9.69. The results of hypothetictesting was tc = 4.137 and tt = 1.67 with a significance level α = 0.05. Based on the results it can beconcluded that the use of multimedia in the material of substance classification gave positive effect onthe learning outcomes of students in the Class VII at the State Junior High School 1 Palu

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatan hasil belajar IPA pada materi bagian tumbuhan dan fungsinya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif pada siswa kelas IV SDN 05 Lakea. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus yang terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Kelas IV berjumlah 29 orang. Data yang diambil adalah data kualitatif yaitu data hasil observasi diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan situasi pembelajaran. Serta data kuantitatif yaitu data hasil belajar diperoleh dari hasil tes. Hasil penelitian siklus I diperoleh tuntas individu 15 orang dan tidak tuntas individu 14 orang dengan persentase daya serap klasikal 62,28% dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 51,72%. Hasil observasi guru sesuai pengamatan diperoleh 68,75% dan hasil observasi siswa diperoleh 62,5%. siklus II diperoleh tuntas individu 28 orang dan tidak tuntas individu 1 orang dengan persentase daya serap klasikal 86,21% dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal 96,55%. Hasil observasi guru sesuai pengamatan diperoleh 92,97% dan hasil observasi siswa diperoleh 83,59%. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa

    The most fish species live in lake Lindu is mujair fish with the average number production of 1080 per day. The scales and fins of mujair fish are the biggest waste that is produced from the processing of this fish and they were just thrown away, which can pollute the environment. The aim of this study is to analyze the level of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) on waste of mujair fish (scales and fins) from the lake Lindu as a basic ingredient of a liquid organic fertilizer. Samples of the scales and fins were taken from a seller mujair fish at Touwa street Palu. To analyze the level of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) from the scales and fins was used a Spectrodirect. Based on the results of the analysis, the average of level of calcium (Ca) in the scales and fins was 4.98 mg/L and 33.33 mg/L, while the average of level of phosphorus (P) was 73.33 mg/L and 145.33 mg/L. The average concentration of dry weight of Ca in samples of the scales was 3,32 mg/kg and the fins was 22,22 mg/kg. The average concentration of the dry weight of P in samples of the scales was 48,88 mg/kg and the fins was 96,88 mg/kg. The results of this analysis showed that the highest concentration of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) was in the fins of mujair fish

    The Lake Lindu is one of the potential water resources in Central Sulawesi with various species of fish and one of the most commonly found fish are species mujair fish. Mujair fish processing wastes such as offal can be polluted the environment if not managed properly. The study aim is to determine the contents of NPK nutrients in the liquid organic fertilizer by adding MOL banana weevil. The contents of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) was determined by using spectro direct. The NPK contents in the liquid organic fertilizer of mujair fish waste from Lake Lindu reached the maximum NPK contents of nitrogen (N) of 0.311% by addition 100 mL MOL banana weevil, phosphorus (P) 0.167% by addition 150 mL of MOL banana weevil, and potassium (K) of 0.037% by addition 150 mL MOL banana weevil

    The purpose of this research was to investigate the students' learning outcomes toward the use of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share (TPS) on the topic of atomic structure to the tenth year students of SMA 2 Palu. The method used was an experimental research. The population was the tenth year students of SMA 2 Palu in the academic year of 2012/2013. The research used purposive sampling technique (based on the specific reason: the two classes have the same average scores of class). The sample consisted of 32 X-A students as the experimental class (Think Pair Share (TPS) technique) and 32 X-D students as the control class. The data collection was through test on atomic structure. The testing of research data used statistic analysis one tale t-test (right) by employing its prerequisite test of normality and homogeneity. The average score of the experimental class was 12.63 with the deviation standard of 2.82 and of the control class was 9.89 with the deviation standard of 2.70. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was found that tcounted value >ttable or 3.98 > 1.66 with degree of significance of 00.5 and degree of freedom = 62. The Ho was rejected. It is concluded that the learning outcome by using cooperative learning of Think Pair Share technique on the topic of nuclear structure is higher than that of the conventional technique

    This research is motivated by low achievement and lack of chemistry students in learning activities especially on the subject of colloids. Based on observations in SMA Negeri 1 Dolo, it has known that the process of teaching and learning suggests that teachers in teaching chemistry concepts and theories through learning activities centered on the teacher or just direct instruction, students were not actively engaged in activities and less opportunity to develop the students thinking process, so the learning process tends boring and turned to student learning laziness. These problems could be overcome by using a type of learning model NHT (Numbered Heads Together). This study aims to figure out the Effects of Cooperative Learning Model Type NHT (Numbered Heads Together) on Student Results of Class XI IPA SMAN I Dolo on topic Colloids. The population in this study was the students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Dolo 2012/2013 school year, and the research sample was 33 students of class XI IPA 3 as the experimental class (learning by using NHT), and 34 students of class XI IPA 2 as a control class (direct learning). Data were obtained by providing post-test to both samples group. After that, the data were analyzed to test the hypothesis by using one tail t-test. The average and the deviation standard obtained for the experimental class was 64.15 and 10.75. While the average and deviation standard for control class was 53,03 and 10,21. Based on t-test analysis, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who use cooperative learning model NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is higher than student learning outcomes using direct instructional model
