Selected economic instruments to limit water deficit in an international perspective

The article presents the issue of water prices for the population in conditions – on one hand – compliance with EU rule on the costs recovery of water services – and the recommendations of the European Union and the UN so as not to pay for water greater load of household income than 4%. In developed countries, this is much easier than in poor countries, where the rate reaches as high as 10%. Among the consequences of the costs recovery of water services principle, the author analyzes trade issues of water in the stock market and the competition between bottled water and tap water.W artykule przedstawiono kwestię cen wody dla ludności w warunkach, z jednej strony, przestrzegania regulacji UE w sprawie zwrotu kosztów usług wodnych, a z drugiej strony – zaleceń UE i ONZ, aby płatności za wodę nie przekraczały 4% dochodów gospodarstwa domowego. W krajach rozwiniętych jest to o wiele łatwiejsze niż w krajach biednych, gdzie wskaźnik ten sięga nawet 10%. The directions for development of family businesses in the contemporary economy

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie definicji i liczebności oraz kierunków rozwoju przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych, w szczególności przeobrażeń ich rodzajów i funkcji w gospodarce na tle zmian w organizacji oraz strukturze rodziny, a następnie postępów w samoorganizowaniu się tych przedsiębiorstw oraz zjawiska sukcesji. W pracy podjęto analizę następujących kwestii: pojęcie i definiowanie przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych, rodzaje, cechy, funkcje oraz zadania przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych, współzależność rodziny i biznesu oraz modelowe ujęcie systemów rodziny i firmy, a następnie liczebność i samoorganizowanie się przedsiębiorstw rodzinnych, sukcesja oraz długowieczność biznesu rodzinnego.The purpose of the article is to present the definition, show the number as well as the directions for development of family businesses. In particular, the article describes the transformations in the types of businesses and their function within the economy at the backdrop of changes within the organization and family structure. Then it shows the developments in the self-organization of such businesses and the succession process. The article aims to analyze the following issues: the concept and the definition of a family business, their types and features, the functions and tasks of family businesses, the mutual dependence of a family and a business, the model presentation of family and business systems, the number and self-organization of family businesses, succession and longevity of a family business

Analysis of ways of measurement and the consequences of water shortage in the world

The paper presents a hydrological cycle that takes place in nature and addresses the concept of water resources and the methods of their measurement as well as the shortage of water resources. In the ensuing discussion, the paper assesses those conditions by the continents and regions, pointing out the difficult situation in Northern Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Further, it presents the investigation of the correlation between the volume of GDP and the particular features of water management within the continents. The results of calculations show differences, yet there is a clear correlation between the number of population, the water consumption and other indexes of water management. The paper ends with the conclusion that there is basically no shortage of water resources within the world economy, yet there is more and more acute crisis in water supply on the regional scale due to the insufficient water supply and sewerage infrastructure, improper economic policy and environmental policy, and poverty among large groups of population

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie dorobku naukowego i zawodowego Rudolfa Zubera w 100-lecie jego śmierci, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem badań geologicznych w Karpatach oraz skutków odkrycia unikatowej szczawy alkalicznej w Krynicy. W analizie uwzględniono zmiany polityczne i społeczne na ziemiach polskich w okresie od końca XIX wieku do czasów współczesnych, wraz z podkreśleniem rozwoju gospodarczego Krynicy-Zdrój. Problems of Water Management in Agriculture in the World

In connection with the frequent occurrence of water deficit in Central Poland and the growth of the phenomena of droughts and stepping formation (and desertification in southern Europe), the studies undertaken by hydrologists and representatives of agricultural scientists should be extended and stepping formation and desertification economics should be separated in these studies. Therefore, the evaluation of the management strategies in the conditions of water deficit, undertaken in agriculture, power engineering and other sectors of the economy as well as the search of suitable sources of water management financing should be brought to the forefront as they are specific in Poland due to functioning of ecological funds

Ocena skuteczności polityki antysmogowej państwa

Od wielu lat nieodpowiedni stan powietrza w Polsce negatywnie wpływa na jakość życia społeczeństwa. W ostatnim czasie, na szczeblu zarówno krajowym, jak i regionalnym, podjęto bądź zaplanowano działania zmierzające do ograniczenia emisji najbardziej uciążliwych zanieczyszczeń. Przyjęto między innymi plan rozwoju elektromobilności, wprowadzono bariery i zakazy w zakresie eksploatacji uciążliwych dla środowiska instalacji grzewczych, podjęto również prace legislacyjne w zakresie wymagań jakościowych dla paliw stałych i wprowadzono zachęty do zmiany struktury zużywanych nośników energii. Uważna analiza zaproponowanych rozwiązań wskazuje jednak, że skuteczność wielu z nich będzie znikoma. W rzeczywistości w dalszym ciągu preferowana jest energetyka oparta na węglu, a zainteresowanie poprawą jakości powietrza pozostaje na dalszym planie
