Violence Intervention with Black Youth
IMPACT. 1: A.T.I.A.D performed 34 Conflict Meditations that could have resulted in a fight, shooting or homicide but didn't thanks to our intervention. Those are scenes that the police didn't have to address. -- 2. In 2015, A.T.I.A.D had 29 program participants. 17 Graduated 16 Gained Employment 1 Enrolled into Drug Program 3 Received GED tutoring 3 Regained Driving Privileges 1 Completed Probation 1 Felony Expunged -- 3. In 2016, A.T.I.A.D has done 30 conflict meditations that could have resulted in a fight, shooting or homicide but didn't, thanks to our staff.PRIMARY CONTACT: Thell Robinson III ([email protected])Our Violence Intervention services use proven mediation techniques that work and keep black urban neighborhoods safe. Conflict meditations are facilitated by trained gang specialists that have intervened in numerous altercations and prevented violence. We mediate conflict between risk taking youth who are often times gang members or drug dealers. Our mediators have a way of getting through to individuals involved in conflict. We find nonviolent solutions to the problems that exist in the black community
Parmelia ernstiae - new to the Nordic lichen flora.
Parmelia ernstiae Feuerer & A. Thell, recently described from northwestern Germany, is reported from one locality in central SkÄne, southernmost Sweden
Violence Intervention with Black Youth
IMPACT. 1: We performed 52 conflict meditations that prevented fights, shootings and homicides with youth, young adults and even adults. -- 2. 8 out of 20 participants that were not working found employment. -- 3. One participant gained his GED and another gained their high school diploma.PRIMARY CONTACT: Thell Robinson III ([email protected])Our Violence Intervention services use proven mediation techniques that work and keep black urban neighborhoods safe. A preliminary phylogeographic study of Flavopunctelia and Punctelia inferred from rDNA ITS-sequences
A preliminary phylogeny of the genera Flavopunctelia and Punctelia is presented. Genus and species delimitations have been investigated using ITS rDNA-sequencing of populations from different continents. Current genus delimitations of Flavopunctelia, Punctelia and Parmelia are confirmed and the species status of recently resurrected Punctelia ulophylla is confirmed. The status of three cryptic species, Flavopunctelia soredica, Punctelia perreticulata and P. stictica is discussed. Flavopunctelia borrerioides and Punctelia perreticulata are reported from China for the first time.Esitatakse perekondade Flavopunctelia ja Punctelia esialgne fĂŒlogeneesi rekonstruktsioon. From Hoffmann to Wirth - an historical perspective of published German lichen floras.
German lichen flora projects are surveyed from Georg Hoffmannâs Deutschlands Flora oder Botanisches Taschenbuch. Zweyter Theil fĂŒr das Jahr 1795. Cryptogamie to the recently published Die Flechten Deutschlands 2013, via Wilhelm Körberâs Systema Lichenum Germaniae 1855, and the supplementary volume Parerga lichenologica 1859, Gustav Lindauâs Die Flechten, Kryptogamenflora fĂŒr AnfĂ€nger 1913 & 1923, Ludwig Rabenhorstâs Kryptogamen-Flora von Deutschland, Ăsterreich und der Schweiz 1930â1960, Walter Migulaâs Kryptogamen Flora von Deutschland, Deutsch-Ăsterreich und der Schweiz from 1929 & 1931, Georg Lettauâs Flechten aus Mitteleuropa 1939, 1944 & 1958, and Josef Poeltâs BestimmungsschlĂŒssel EuropĂ€ischer Flechten from 1969
Design och förÀdling av en liten och kustnÀra trÀdgÄrd
A small garden exposed to a harsh coastal climate can be difficult to design. Limitations in space and in plant varieties increase the needs of an in-depth knowledge to achieve wanted goals.
In this degree project the challenge has been to create a functional and position adapted garden for a very small beach house lot in Mölle, a little harbour village at the south coast of Kullaberg. "Villa Malm", is situated directly on the bedrock in a close settlement where the gardens, in most cases are very small and exposed to strong salty winds. Several families stay here during the summer and the garden will have the function of an outdoor gathering place for meals, as well as providing extra space.
Literature studies as well as site- and surrounding studies includes coastal plants, the local flora and environment, and ideas for the small garden. On this basis of this knowledge and with an analysis of the needs of the family I have produced this garden plan. Enclosed are descriptions and pictures of my work as a result of my study.
Hopefully someone who is planning a garden with these conditions can use my results as a knowledge giving base or as an inspiration.
Taxonomy of the lichen family Teloschistaceae based on multigene phylogeny
The lichen family Teloschistaceae (Teloschistales, lichenized Ascomycota) included ten genera and ca 500 species prior to the molecular era (KĂ€rnefelt 1989). Since then, molecular studies resulted in today's ca 112 genera and ca 1200 species (e.g., Fayyaz et al. 2022; Kondratyuk et al. 2022a, 2022b). New species and genera in the Teloschistaceae, based on recently discovered monophyletic branches, are presented
