    Ate Pairing on Hyperelliptic Curves

    No full text
In this paper we show that the Ate pairing, originally defined for elliptic curves, generalises to hyperelliptic curves and in fact to arbitrary algebraic curves. It has the following surprising properties: The loop length in Miller's algorithm can be up to g times shorter than for the Tate pairing, with g the genus of the curve, and the pairing is automatically reduced, i.e. no final exponentiation is needed. © International Association for Cryptology Research 2007.status: publishe

International audienceEvery second year, the GEOCRYPT conference brings together researchers from arithmetic geometry and cryptography. After Guadeloupe in 2009 and Corsica in 2011, French Polynesia was the host of its 2013 edition which took place in Punaauia, on the island of Tahiti, October 7-11. The main topic of GEOCRYPT has always been the application of pure mathematical techniques to the safety and efficiency of modern communication systems, with particular interest in the fields of arithmetic and algebraic geometry over finite fields, algorithms for finite fields, error correcting codes, cryptology, boolean functions, discrete dynamical systems, and their interactions. The 2013 edition had the honour to feature six invited and eleven contributed talks from renowned international experts presenting strong results recently obtained on topics ranging from pure mathematics to cryptographic algorithms. The GEOCRYPT 2013 Program Committee carefully evaluated the submitted abstracts and selected the best contributions for presentation at the conference

Arts et culture = Arts and Culture

"International Olympic Committee rules and regulations require that a national arts and culture festival be staged at the same time as the Olympic Games. In Montréal, organizers of the Arts and Culture Program envisioned this as a giant mosaic of Canadian creativity. [...] This Arts and culture volume, then, bears witness to the quality and the diversity of cultural manifestations during the Montréal Olympic Games." -- Dust jacket
