The current work had the objective to evaluate the effect of Hydropriming about the germination and emergence of seeds of cucumber, ordering improve the velocity and informing of this. The tests was conduced in the laboratory of Analysis of Seeds and Didactic Garden of Department of Plant Sciences of Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido - UFERSA, in the period of September to October at 2009. For this, it was utilized seeds of cucumber cultivate Aodai, with four replications for next treatment (demonstration, Hydropriming and Hydropriming + drying). The seeds was hydroconditioned in towel-paper, in 20 ºC, until culminate 42,8% of humidity. Later were drying in ambient temperature of laboratory (28-30 ºC) and 45-55% of relative humidity, until hit moisture of 7,3%. The seeds was evaluated for tests of germination, velocity index of germination, first count of germination, aerial part length of seedling and aerial part dry matter mass. The statistical analysis was effectuated separately for next feature evaluated, determining the effects of treatments in completely randomized design, being the comparison of means out Tukey test in level of 1% of probability. Though the Hydropriming with or out drying promote benefit effects about the emergence of seedlings, aspect relationship of establish of stand, the technical needs of improvement for specie, given in necessity of adaptation of methodology of priming

The passion fruit tree (Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa Deg.) is a fruitful tree whose the propagation usually is made for seeds. With the objective to study the possible effects allelopathy of neem in the physiologic aspects in germination of seeds of passion fruit in the different periods of storage. Was carried at UFERSA. For the acquisition of powder of neem, it was used plants located in institution. In the obtaining of seeds of passion fruits, it was used in natura fruits bought in the local supermarket; this seeds were extracted of fruits for fermentation. It was placed 50g of seeds of passion fruits together with each measure of powder of leaves of neem (0; 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1,0 g of powder of leaves of neem / 50 g of seeds of passion fruits). It was utilized the randomized design in esquire of portions subdivides, where the portions was composed of five dosages of powder of leaves neem

An experiment was carried out at Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA), Mossoró - RN, for screening the effect of substrate for germination of seeds and seedling growth of Moringa oleifera Lam. It was utilized a completely randomized design with four treatments (substrates: T1= 75% sand + 25% bovine manure, T2= 100% washed sand, T3= 75% sand + 25% worm castings and T4= 75% sand + 25% sawdust) and four replications of 25 seeds. The seeds were sown in the substrates contained in wooden boxes (7,5 cm long x 23,5 cm wide x 39 cm deep). Each box was filled with approximately 6 kg of substrate. The substrates were irrigated once a day (until the tenth day), then twice a day until the end experiment (19 th day). Seedling height, root length, number of leaves, whole seedling fresh and dry matter weights, germination velocity index and germination percent were evaluated. It was concluded that the mix 75% sand + 25% worm castings was the most suitable for the initial growth of moringa and the substrate containing 100% sand provided the best germination index for this species
