Foliations, solvability and global injectivity

Let F: R^n -> R^n be a C^\infty map such that DF(x) is invertible for all x in R^n. We know that F is a local diffeomorphism but, in general, it is not globally injective. We discuss the relations between some additional hypothesis that guarantee the global injectivity of F. Further, based on one of these hypotheses, we establish a necessary condition for the existence of F: R^n -> R^n such that det DF = h, where h: R^n -> [0,\infty) is a given C^\infty function

Educação ambiental : analise das práticas de ensino e o papel da disciplina de geografia na Escola Municipal Antônio Gonçalves Carvalho Filho

Curso de graduação em Geografia à Distância.Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo verificar e analisar o papel da Geografia no desenvolvimento da Educação Ambiental. A investigação pautou-se em uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a Educação Ambiental e um estudo de caso na Escola Municipal Antonio Gonçalves de Carvalho Filho, localizada em Palmas-TO. Pretendeu-se verificar como a inserção de conteúdos relacionados ao meio ambiente nas aulas de Geografia pode contribuir para formação da Educação Ambiental com alunos. Observou-se, que a questão ambiental é um tema que faz parte do ensino da Geografia e esse assunto traz reflexões importantes a ser incorporadas na Educação Ambiental. Sobre a importância do professor de Geografia no ensino da Educação Ambiental entendeu-se que ele possui papel fundamental nessa temática. Os procedimentos adotados na coleta de dados, foi a aplicação de um questionário com alunos do 8° ano do ensino fundamental da escola e entrevista com a professora de Geografia da referida escola. Concluiu-se com a pesquisa que a disciplina de geografia pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento da Educação Ambiental, haja vista que ela por possuir em seu currículo questões relacionadas ao meio ambiente, incorpora melhor o tema supracitado. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis research aims to verify and analyze the role of geography in the development of environmental education. The research was guided by a literature review on environmental education and a case study at the Municipal School Antonio Gonçalves de Carvalho Filho, located in Palmas-TO, who wished to verify as the inclusion of content related to the environment in geography lessons can contribute to formation of environmental education in students. It was observed that the environmental issue is a topic that is part of the teaching of geography and this issue has important considerations to be incorporated in environmental education. On the importance of geography teacher in environmental education teaching was understood that he has a primary role in this theme . The procedures adopted in data collection , was the application of a questionnaire with students of the 8th grade level of the school , and interview with school geography teacher. It was found through research that geography discipline can contribute to the development of environmental education , given that it by having in its curriculum issues related to the environment , incorporates better the above theme

A TEIA DE RELAÇÕES HUMANAS E A FORMAÇÃO DO MUNDO COMUM: A PLURALIDADE NA FILOSOFIA POLÍTICA DE HANNAH ARENDT

Este trabalho consiste numa análise da relação entre a noção de teia de relações humanas e o conceito de mundo comum no pensamento de Hannah Arendt (1906–1975). O mundo comum é público em oposição ao oculto que caracteriza vida privada. Constitui-se por um espaço que existe apenas na medida em que homens se vinculam por seus discursos e ações e, desse modo, revela seus atores. Este vínculo criado pelos homens, pela via dos atos e das palavras, é denominado pela autora como Teia de relações. Ao contrapor-se às formas de dominação totalitária, nas quais indivíduos encontram-se isolados e igualmente, destituídos de discurso político, Arendt compreende que discurso e ação referem-se à mediação que os indivíduos estabelecem entre eles por meio dos seus interesses. Desse modo, constituindo uma realidade mundana objetiva

Vico in prefaces:

Este escrito ensaia uma abordagem sobre a função do prefácio na filosofia de Giambattista Vico e também nos paratextos em alguns dos estudiosos que se dedicaram à sua obra nos séculos XIX e XX. O objetivo desta análise é indicar argumentos que revelam a atitude dos autores diante do contexto mais amplo no qual a obra se situa.  Defende-se a hipótese de que os prefácios em questão não apenas buscam construir melhores condições para a recepção da filosofia de Vico, também buscam defendê-la do desinteresse sofrido da parte dos seus pares. Além disso, percebe-se que a obra de Vico possui características que os prefaciadores não puderam contornar, como a dificuldade de sua escrita e a amplitude dos temas que aborda. Por fim, conclui-se que nos casos em questão, os prefácios ocupam a um só tempo uma função editorial, pedagógica e retórica e filosófica. This writing attempts an approach to the function of the preface in Giambattista Vico's philosophy and also investigates the peritexts in some of the scholars who dedicated themselves to his work in the 19th and 20th centuries. The aim of this analysis is to indicate some moments of the argument that reveal the authors' attitude towards the broader context in which the work is situated. Our hypothesis is that the prefaces in question not only seek to build better conditions for the reception of Vico's philosophy, but also seek to defend it from the lack of interest suffered by his peers. In addition, it is clear that Vico’s work has characteristics that the prefaces could not overcome, such as the difficulty of his writing and the breadth of the themes he reflects on. Finally, it is concluded that in the cases cited here, the prefaces occupy not only an editorial function but also a pedagogical, rhetorical and philosophical

Tempo e Política: a propósito da história ideal eterna de Vico

This essay seeks to problematize the conception of eternal ideal history in Scienza Nuova, (1744), by Giambattista Vico (1688 – 1744), with the purpose of explaining the ethical and political orientation of Viqui's proposal. According to Vico, human history follows a course of three ages: the age of gods, heroes and men in which the history of the world of nations took place. What legitimizes such a distinction, in Vico's perspective, is the form of organization of collective life that determines, in a certain sense, the human nature. For this reason, it is necessary to problematize the relationship between politics and history within Vico's thought. In the present work, Vico's idea is adopted as an interpretative hypothesis that, based on language, human beings constitute, in their own way, their way of living. In this communication, the three editions of the work in question (1725, 1730, 1744) are considered as the main bibliographical sources, as they make it possible to understand, from the beginning, the viquian elaboration of an ideal eternal history.Este ensaio buscar problematizar a concepção de história ideal eterna na Scienza Nuova, (1744), de Giambattista Vico (1688 – 1744), com o propósito de explicitar a orientação ética e política da proposta viquiana. Segundo Vico, a história humana segue um percurso de três idades: idade dos deuses, dos heróis e dos homens na qual transcorreu a história do mundo das nações. O que legitima tal distinção, no entender de Vico é a forma de organização da vida coletiva, algo que determina, em certo sentido, a natureza humana. Por essa razão, é necessário problematizar a relação entre política e história no interior do pensamento de Vico. No presente trabalho, adota-se como hipótese interpretativa a ideia de Vico de que com base na linguagem, o ser humano constitui à sua maneira sua forma de viver. Nesta comunicação consideram-se como fontes bibliográfica principal, a três edições da obra em questão (1725, 1730, 1744) por possibilitarem compreender desde o início a elaboração viquiana de uma história ideal eterna

A hierarquia social e o regime de oferta influenciam o consumo de água em bovinos leiteiros.

Pequenas propriedades leiteiras no sul do Brasil freqüentemente oferecem água para as vacas em um único bebedouro na sala de ordenha, o que pode limitar o consumo de água, com conseqüências negativas na produção e bem-estar animal. Para testar a influencia da restrição de água e dominância social na ingestão de água e no comportamento, 14 animais (novilhas, vacas em lactação e secas) foram submetidos a dois tratamentos num delineamento do tipo cross-over: acesso à água permanente (APer) ou restrito a uma vez ao dia (ARest) durante 17 dias em cada fase. A ingestão de água foi medida diariamente através de um relógio medidor de vazão acoplado à saída de água e o comportamento foi observado entre os dias 13 e 17 de cada fase, por observação visual direta, das 7:00 às 22:00 h. A dominância social e os tratamentos não influenciaram os comportamentos de comer ração/silagem, pastar, ruminar, de pé, deitada, inativa ou número de agressões, nem a distribuição espacial na sala de ordenha. Entretanto, vacas ARest beberam aproximadamente 70% do volume de água consumido pelas vacas APer (p<0,001). Em seis de oito oportunidades, vacas secas subordinadas não beberam água por até 48 horas. A limitação da disponibilidade de água uma vez ao dia na sala de ordenha pode reduzir a ingestão e prejudicar o consumo de alguns animais dentro do grupo

BALANÇO SOCIAL COMO INSTRUMENTO PARA AVALIAÇÃO DAS AÇÕES SOCIAIS DE INSTITUIÇÕES PÚBLICAS: UMA PROPOSTA À FUNDAÇÃO JOAQUIM NABUCO.

Thisresearch was conducted in 2008aimed to determine to what extent the adoptionof the Social Balance Sheet (BS) can assist the process of evaluation of institutionalperformance in the social area of Joaquim Nabuco Foundation (Fundaj), through abetter quality of information disclosed to their internal stakeholders.It used thedeductive method. In regard of the type, this research can be consideredquantitative, being carried through the use of a case study.Data collection took placethrough application ofa questionnaire at two points: first, the respondents wereasked to read the Management Report (RG) of the institutionfor fiscal year2006and answer the questionnaire with questions that sought to evaluate the degree ofperception of the servers on thedisclosure of social actions undertaken by Fundaj,described in that report. Subsequently, the BS was prepared, which was senttogether with a second questionnaire to respondents who participated in the firstphase of research. The data from questionnaires for the RG and BS were analyzedseparately and in combination, through comparative study.In regard of nature of thecollected data, the descriptive and non parametric statistics tests were used: Mann-Whitney U, Crosstab and Chi-square.Given the comparison of the responses foundthat there was an improvement in perception of the quality of information regardingsocial actions undertaken by Fundaj. Another important factor found in researchrefers to the fact that 100% of respondents said that the institution should take theBS as a tool of accountability to society

Preservação de um fragmento florestal urbano-estudo de caso: a ARIE Mata de Santa Genebra, Campinas-SP

As florestas urbanas são reflexos dos processos de uso e ocupação das terras, que fragmentaram e isolaram a vegetação nativa em pequenos remanescentes nos centros urbanos. A análise do processo histórico das ações de preservação das florestas urbanas, criação e gestão permite compreender, fortalecer e reconhecer a importância destas áreas. O presente trabalho discute os diferentes processos e estratégias de conservação de algumas destas florestas, buscando compreender de que forma o histórico, bastante peculiar, da Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico Mata de Santa Genebra, em Campinas (SP), pode ser utilizado como modelo de preservação para áreas similares.The urban forests may be seen as a result of land use and occupation that disintegrate and isolate the native vegetation in small areas in urban centers. The historical process analysis of the urban forests preservation actions, creation and management allow comprehension, reinforcement and recognition of the importance of these areas. This research considers different ways of conservation processes and strategies, in some of these forests, aiming to understand how the very particular history of the Relevant Ecological Interest Area Mata de Santa Genebra, in Campinas (SP), can be used as a model of preservation to similar areas

ESTRUTURA FITOSSOCIOLÓGICA DE UMA FLORESTA ESTACIONAL DECIDUAL NA REGIÃO DE SANTA MARIA, RS

Em um inventário de 14 unidades amostrais, de 15 X 50 m (750 m2), realizado em uma Floresta Estacional Decidual, localizada no Morro do Centro de Instrução de Santa Maria, Distrito de Boca do Monte, em Santa Maria, RS, para um estudo da estrutura fitossociológica. Para tal, foram identificados e quantificados os indivíduos com circunferência a altura do peito (CAP) maior ou igual a 30 cm. Em cada amostra foram identificadas duas sub-amostras circulares concêntricas, para análise dos indivíduos em regeneração natural. Uma de 10 m² (raio de 1,78 m) para as classes de 0 a 15 cm e outra de 100 m² (raio de 5,64 m) para as classes de 15,1 a 30 cm de circunferência. Identificaram-se 51 espécies vegetais, distribuídas em 45 gêneros e 26 famílias botânicas. As espécies Cupania vernalis, Trichilia clausseni, Nectandra megapotamica, Myrcianthes pungens e Matayba elaeagnoides estão entre as mais características e importantes da associação, tanto em relação a estrutura vertical como horizontal
