    Natural Rubber Industry cause negative inrpact by its waste like gaseous waste which need appropriate treatment. This situation reduce arnenity of community which live around the rubber factory. Problents which occur while designing the appropriate treatntent for gaseous waste like treatment unit are expensive and there are several options for gaseous treatment method. This paper discuss the use of expert system for supporting the decision to handle gaseous waste which is produced by crumb rubber factory. According ta the result of knowledge acquisition from experts can be concluded that the recommendation for treatment of gaseous waste from cruntb rubber factory are decided by several criterias which are factory location, community acceptance around the factory, crumb rubber processing method, gaseous waste handling criteria, fund availability, and condition of wastewater treatment facilities.     Processing cassava into various food products is an effort to produce the economic added value of cassava. The processing also needed to reduce the damage of fresh cassava. This study was aimed to asses the performance of ‘kelanting’ as an indigenous snack and its added value. Data were collected at the Plamboyan Farmer Women's Small Group (KWT) in Rejomulyo Village, Palas Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency from August 2019 to November 2019 using questionnaire. The descriptive analysis used to describe the industry performance, while the added value calculated quantitatively using Hayami Table. The results showed that the performance of the processing of cassava by the Plamboyan Small Women Farmers Group (KWT) was affected by the high availability of raw materials, i.e. ‘mentega’ cassava as local variety and how to process ‘kelanting’. The added value of processing cassava become ‘kelanting’ was Rp 5,493.00/kg with a value-added ratio of 64.55% which was classified as high value-added (>40%).     Natural rubber processing demand has increased every year because of the demand from  tire industries and other rubber based industries.  The problem of RSS industries with raw material of field latex was low quality of final products.  The purposes of this study were to identify factors that affected quality of RSS (Ribbed Smoked Sheet) product and to construct  strategies to improve the quality of  RSS (Ribbed smoked sheet) products.  Data were collected in two ways, there were primary data and secondary data.  Data were analyzed using SWOT method and continued using qualitative (descriptive) method.  Weighting results showed for internal factors had strength value  of 2,879, and weaknesses value of 2,705 then the difference value +0.174.  While the weighting for external factors had opportunities value  of 2,410, and threats value  was 1.306. then the difference value was +1,433 .  The conclusion  that could be drawn from this research is that The quality of RSS product can be improved by  strictly implementing the standard operating procedure ,  developing human resource abilities, collaborating research with other institutions , implementing  and  monitoring the use  of SNI 06-2047-2002 for latex raw materials.     Financial Feasibility Study of Liquid Smoke Industry from Palm Oil Empty Fruit Bunch in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province

    Abstract— The objective of this research was to examine the feasibility of liquid smoke production from palm ail empty fruit bunch (EFB). This research was a survey with expert respondents to collect primary data while literatures and reports study as secondary data. The result of study showed that the liquid smoke industry from EFB was feasible to be developed with eligibility criteria Rp. 991,486,765 of NPV ; 2.50 of Net B/C; 36.59 % of IRR ; and 2.83 years of PBP.  The result of sensitivity analysis showed that the liquid smoke industry from EFB more sensitive for liquid smoke price decerasing than raw material and other inputs price increasing.Keywords— Financial Feasibility, Liquid Smoke, EFB

    West Lampung is one of coffee production center in Lampung. Some farmers have began to ferment their coffee bean  biologically using Luwak .This project was aimed to study whether the establishment of ‘Luwak’ coffee industry  at West Lampung will bring benefit to farmers. The result of the study shows that the market for ‘LUWAK’ coffee is very potential because the plantation/production area at West Lampung is widely available. By using CAMCE China technology it can be estimated that the total production  of 3200 kg per year will be achieved.  CAMCE was chosen because it uses latest technology, needs lower investing cost in equipment , and offers a complete factory construction. In addition there are plenty of human resources available to be involved in establishing this industry

    Bintaro fruit is a tropical plant that is widely grown in Indonesia, but it has not been utilized optimally.  Seed of bintaro fruit contains saponin steroids and fatty acids such as palmitat, stearat, oleat, miristat, linolenat, and linoleat fatty acid.  Kernel of bintaro fruit contains saponin and polifenol that are toxic for the pests and insects.  Kernel and seed of bintaro fruit may contain antibacterial activity.  Fatty acid content of bintrao fruit was influenced by level of its maturity, more mature contains more fatty acid.  The purpose of this research is to determine the most suitable solvent to produce the best extract which has activity of anti bacteria and find out the level of anti bacteria activity which is produced from seed and kernel extracts from the bintaro fruit by using difusi agar method.  This research was arranged in a Complete Randomized Block Design, two factorial with four replications.  The first factor was different part of the fruit: seed and kernel.  The second factor was different type of solvent: ethyl acetate, hexane and aquades.  The data were analyzed using Bartlett test for homogeneity and Tuckey test for additivity.  The data then were analyzed using Anova to see the differences between treatments and tested further using LSD of 5% level to determine the best treatment. The result of this research indicated that the kernel of bintaro fruit extracted with ethyl acetate produced the extract which has the highest resistant zone activity of anti bacteria (about 10,95 mm), categorized as an average activity of antibacterial, while bintaro seed extraxted with hexane has less active of antibateria (about 8,43 mm).  The most sensitive bacterium againts seed extracts and kernel of bintaro was Staphylococcus aureus.Keywords : antibacteria, bintaro fruit, extraction, and organic solvent

    Characteristics of Redestilled Dried Banana Leaves Liquid Smoke

    Banana leaves belong to the waste products of the banana plant and are a potential source of liquid smoke due to their abundance, containing 10.85% cellulose, 19.95% hemicellulose and 18.21% lignin. Liquid smoke has many uses, including as an antibacterial agent and food preservative. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of the liquid smoke from redistilled dried banana leaves. The process of making liquid smoke by pyrolysis, precipitation, distillation, and adsorption with activated zeolites. Liquid smoke is then physically observed for color and flavor, tested for compound content using GC-MS tests, and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the liquid smoke from redistilled dried banana leaves had a mild taste and pale yellow color. was found to contain 13.09% area, carbonyls in 1.42% area, and no HPA compounds.

    Pengasapan Ikan Kembung menggunakan Asap Cair dari Kayu Karet Hasil Redestilasi

    Asap cair dari kayu karet dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengawet ikan kembung (Rastrelliger kanagurta) karena mengandung senyawa fenol dan asam organik yang bersifat sebagai senyawa anti bakteri dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi asap cair kayu karet redestilasi dan lama perendaman ikan terbaik pada pengasapan ikan kembung. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial (RAK Faktorial) dengan perlakuan konesntrasi asap cair (10, 15 dan 20%) dan lama perendaman (10, 15 dan 20 menit). Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi angka lempeng total, kadar air dan organoleptik. Hasil terbaik yaitu menggunakan konsentrasi asap cair kayu karet redestilasi 10% dan lama perendaman ikan selama 15 menit dengan nilai angka lempeng total 4,4×103 CFU/g pada hari ke-0 dan 4,7×104 CFU/g pada hari ke-6, kadar air di bawah 60% selama penyimpanan, dan sifat organoleptik berupa skor aroma 4,48 (netral)dan skor penerimaan keseluruhan 4,51 (netral)

    Palm oil mill effluent treatment using anaerobic pond system was not effective because it needs large area and causes greenhouse gas emission. Thermophilic anaerobic digestion system can make hydraulic retention time of palm oil mill effluent becomes shorter. The purposes of this research were to determine the optimum temperature, net energy balance of the utilization from palm oil mill effluent at thermophilic temperature, and study the possibility of its application on palm oil mill.  Palm oil mill effluent and sludge characterization were determined by analyzing pH and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), then 40 L palm oil mill effluent and 10 L sludge were fermented in the bioreactor stirred at temperature 45oC and 55oC.  The data were presented in tables and graphs then analyzed descriptively. The Results showed that for 50 L palm oil mill effluent at 45oC needed 113,906 J/57 days and produced net energy value 22,078 MJ/57 days, while at 55oC needed 113,934 J/43 days and produced net energy value 23,622 MJ/43 days.  Based on the calculation palm oil mill with capacity of 60 tonnes FFB/hour, will produce electrical energy equivalent to 1,654 MW and produce extra energy value 13.699,32 MJ/hour in the processing of FFB into CPO.     This study aims to determine the analysis of the location of the establishment of a suitable banana chips industry in Lampung by using an exponential comparison method and the feasibility of financial analysis.. The research method uses observation, survey and interview techniques. To determine the location of the plant using the Exponential Comparison Method. The results showed that the suitable location was Ketapang sub-district in south Lampung regency with a value of 11129 and was declared financially feasible because it had a positive Net Present Value (NPV), the value of the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was greater than the prevailing interest rate at present, the value of the Benefit/Cost (B/C) ratio is more than 1 and the payback period (payback period 1 year 11 months) is the maximum business feasibility at a 15% increase in raw materials per year
