A holographic computation of the central charges of d=4, N=2 SCFTs
We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute the central charges of the d=4,
N=2 superconformal field theories arising from N D3-branes at singularities in
F-theory. These include the conformal theories with E_n global symmetries. We
compute the central charges a and c related to the conformal anomaly, and also
the central charges k associated to the global symmetry in these theories. All
of these are related to the coefficients of Chern-Simons terms in the dual
string theory on AdS_5. Our computation is exact for all values of N, enabling
several tests of the dualities recently proposed by Argyres and Seiberg for the
E_6 and E_7 theories with N=1.Comment: 16 pages; v4: one reference adde
The gravity duals of SO/USp superconformal quivers
We study the gravity duals of SO/USp superconformal quiver gauge theories
realized by M5-branes wrapping on a Riemann surface ("G-curve") together with a
Z_2-quotient. When the G-curve has no punctures, the gravity solutions are
classified by the genus g of the G-curve and the torsion part of the four-form
flux G_4. We also find that there is an interesting relation between anomaly
contributions from two mysterious theories: T_{SO(2N)} theory with SO(2N)^3
flavor symmetry and \tilde{T}_{SO(2N)} theory with SO(2N) x USp(2N-2)^2 flavor
symmetry. The dual gravity solutions for various SO/USp-type tails are also
studied.Comment: 27 pages, 13 figures; v2 minor corrections, typos corrected, Figure

N=2 SU Quiver with USP Ends or SU Ends with Antisymmetric Matter
We consider the four dimensional scale invariant N=2 SU quiver gauge theories
with USp(2N) ends or SU(2N) ends with antisymmetric matter representations. We
argue that these theories are realized as six dimensional A_{2N-1} (0,2)
theories compactified on spheres with punctures. With this realization, we can
study various strongly coupled cusps in moduli space and find the S-dual
theories. We find a class of isolated superconformal field theories with only
odd dimensional operators and superconformal field theories with
only even dimensional operators .Comment: Minor changes are made; refrences are added; 21 pages, 18 figure
Four-Dimensional SCFTs from M5-Branes
We engineer a large new set of four-dimensional N=1 superconformal field
theories by wrapping M5-branes on complex curves. We present new supersymmetric
AdS_5 M-theory backgrounds which describe these fixed points at large N, and
then directly construct the dual four-dimensional CFTs for a certain subset of
these solutions. Additionally, we provide a direct check of the central charges
of these theories by using the M5-brane anomaly polynomial. This is a companion
paper which elaborates upon results reported in arXiv:1112:5487.Comment: 45 pages, 11 figure
Global Structure of Moduli Space for BPS Walls
We study the global structure of the moduli space of BPS walls in the Higgs
branch of supersymmetric theories with eight supercharges. We examine the
structure in the neighborhood of a special Lagrangian submanifold M, and find
that the dimension of the moduli space can be larger than that naively
suggested by the index theorem, contrary to previous examples of BPS solitons.
We investigate BPS wall solutions in an explicit example of M using Abelian
gauge theory. Its Higgs branch turns out to contain several special Lagrangian
submanifolds including M. We show that the total moduli space of BPS walls is
the union of these submanifolds. We also find interesting dynamics between BPS
walls as a byproduct of the analysis. Namely, mutual repulsion and attraction
between BPS walls sometimes forbid a movement of a wall and lock it in a
certain position; we also find that a pair of walls can transmute to another
pair of walls with different tension after they pass through.Comment: 42 pages, 11 figures; a few comments adde
Exactly Marginal Deformations and Global Symmetries
We study the problem of finding exactly marginal deformations of N=1
superconformal field theories in four dimensions. We find that the only way a
marginal chiral operator can become not exactly marginal is for it to combine
with a conserved current multiplet. Additionally, we find that the space of
exactly marginal deformations, also called the "conformal manifold," is the
quotient of the space of marginal couplings by the complexified continuous
global symmetry group. This fact explains why exactly marginal deformations are
ubiquitous in N=1 theories. Our method turns the problem of enumerating exactly
marginal operators into a problem in group theory, and substantially extends
and simplifies the previous analysis by Leigh and Strassler. We also briefly
discuss how to apply our analysis to N=2 theories in three dimensions.Comment: 23 pages, 2 figure
Loop and surface operators in N=2 gauge theory and Liouville modular geometry
Recently, a duality between Liouville theory and four dimensional N=2 gauge
theory has been uncovered by some of the authors. We consider the role of
extended objects in gauge theory, surface operators and line operators, under
this correspondence. We map such objects to specific operators in Liouville
theory. We employ this connection to compute the expectation value of general
supersymmetric 't Hooft-Wilson line operators in a variety of N=2 gauge
theories.Comment: 60 pages, 11 figures; v3: further minor corrections, published

A_{N-1} conformal Toda field theory correlation functions from conformal N=2 SU(N) quiver gauge theories
We propose a relation between correlation functions in the 2d A_{N-1}
conformal Toda theories and the Nekrasov instanton partition functions in
certain conformal N=2 SU(N) 4d quiver gauge theories. Our proposal generalises
the recently uncovered relation between the Liouville theory and SU(2) quivers.
New features appear in the analysis that have no counterparts in the Liouville
case.Comment: 23 pages. v2: some typos correcte
Towards a 4d/2d correspondence for Sicilian quivers
We study the 4d/2d AGT correspondence between four-dimensional instanton
counting and two-dimensional conformal blocks for generalized SU(2) quiver
gauge theories coming from punctured Gaiotto curves of arbitrary genus. We
propose a conformal block description that corresponds to the elementary SU(2)
trifundamental half-hypermultiplet, and check it against Sp(1)-SO(4) instanton
counting.Comment: 39 pages, 11 figure
