Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an advanced and complex developmental disability. Furthermore, it is described as a disorder that occurs during the early developmental stages, characterized by limited, repetitive behavioral patterns and interests or activities, problems in various forms of social communication and interaction that persist throughout life. The problems that children with ASD experience in social communication and interaction skills also lead to problems in acquisition of social skills. Children with ASD experience mutual social communication difficulties, as well problems in non-verbal social behavior and establishing social relationships. Social stories are written with a perspective of a child in a special format to explain social situations to children with ASD, to instruct social skills and allow them to cope with difficulties in social situations. In the present study, the effectiveness of social story tablet computer software on the acquisition of social skills by children with ASD was analyzed. Two male and 1 female 5-7 years old students who were diagnosed with ASD were included in the study. The social stories developed by the authors before the instruction were adapted to tablet computer environment. The teachers employed in the institution and were the instructors of the students in the study group were informed about the presentation of these stories to the children with ASD and the application. The “sharing” behavior was selected among the social stories that were developed based on the course requirements. In the first two study sessions, the authors provided feedback for the teachers who conducted the study. The study was conducted with a single-subject design with multiple probe model with probe conditions across participants design. The study findings demonstrated that social story tablet computer program was effective on the acquisition of social skills by children with ASD. An increase in the sharing behavior of all three participants was observed. Furthermore, three participating teachers expressed positive views on the social story tablet computer software

How Do Mobile Wallets Improve Sustainability in Payment Services? A Comprehensive Literature Review

Easy access to the Internet, smartphones, and mobile-based banking change customer shopping intentions. As a crucial component of financial technology (Fintech), mobile wallets enable customers to shop via smartphones. Mobile wallets present a cashless transactional method, cost-efficient services, and traceable options that improve sustainability in payment services. Over the last decade, mobile wallet services have evolved and attracted considerable attention from customers and companies. Due to the need for a comprehensive mobile wallet literature survey, this article aims at filling this research gap by covering articles published between 2012 and 2022 over the Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct databases. A clear filtering policy was conducted to observe the related article topics. Thus, 128 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analyzed. Moreover, the articles were initially classified into three main groups, which was performed via scanning and categorizing all studies in the last ten years from different databases. In addition, the literature was systematically reviewed, providing a better understanding of mobile wallets and contributing to the literature by researching how this service can be improved for payment services with a focus on sustainability. The conducted literature review revealed that mobile wallets could be promoted in terms of environmental traceability, customer lifetime value, and security

Probabilistic Wind Power Forecasting by Using Quantile Regression Analysis

Effective use of renewable energy sources, and in particular wind energy, is of paramount importance. Compared to other renewable energy sources, wind is so fluctuating that it must be integrated to the electricity grid in a planned way. Wind power forecast methods have an important role in this integration. These methods can be broadly classified as point wind power forecasting or probabilistic wind power forecasting methods. The point forecasting methods are more deterministic and they are concerned with the exact forecast for a particular time interval. These forecasts are very important especially for the Wind Power Plant (WPP) owners who attend the energy market with these forecasts from day-ahead. Probabilistic wind power forecasting is more crucial for the operational planning of the electricity grid by grid operators. In this methodology, the uncertainty in the wind power forecast for WPPs are presented within some confidence. This paper presents a probabilistic wind power forecasting method based on local quantile regression with Gaussian distribution. The method is applied to obtain probabilistic wind power forecasts, within the course of the Wind Power Monitoring and Forecast Center for Turkey (RİTM) project, which has been realized by TÜBİTAK MAM. Currently, 132 WPPs are included in the project and they are being monitored in real-time. In this paper, the results for 15 of these WPPs, which are selected from different regions of the country, are presented. The corresponding results are calculated for two different confidence intervals, namely 5–95 and 25–75 quantiles
