A Visual Aid for Chemical Education -Am Experimental System for Chemical Kinetics Involving Redox Reactions-
An experimental system consisting of a clock reaction and Belousov-Zhabotinskii reactions is proposed. Both reactions are characterized by remarkable color change. Simplified reaction schemes are presented for easy understanding of the reaction kinetics

The Electrochemical study of Platinum Metal Complexes Study on the Electrode Reactions of Ru(Ⅱ) and Os(Ⅱ) αα´-Bipyridine Complexes in Non aqueous solvent
Electrode reactions of Ru(II) and Os(II)αα′-bipyridie complexes, M(bip)2X2, where X2 is acac, C2O4, py・H2O or py・Cl, are studied in this report. These complexes have been found to undergo one oxidation and two reduction processes each corresponding to a reversible one electron transfer, similarly to other M(bip)2X2 complexes in our previous reports. The electrode potentials of M(bip)2X2 complexes are summarized and the effect of the ligand X2 0n the electrode potentials, the relation of absorption peaks and the electrode potentials are discussed in terms of their electronic configurations. The effect of temparature, electrolysis time, the concentration of supporting electrolyte on the electrode reactions are also examined
