Social group categorization has been mainly studied in relation to ownership manipulations involving highly-salient multisensory cues. Here, we propose a novel paradigm that can implicitly activate the embodiment process in the presence of group affiliation information, whilst participants complete a task irrelevant to social categorization. Ethnically White participants watched videos of White- and Black-skinned models writing a proverb. The writing was interrupted 7, 4 or 1 s before completion. Participants were tasked with estimating the residual duration following interruption. A video showing only hand kinematic traces acted as a control condition. Residual duration estimates for out-group and control videos were significantly lower than those for in-group videos only for the longest duration. Moreover, stronger implicit racial bias was negatively correlated to estimates of residual duration for out-group videos. The underestimation bias for the out-group condition might be mediated by implicit embodiment, affective and attentional processes, and finalized to a rapid out-group categorization

Background. Glutaric aciduria type 1 is an autosomal recessive disease caused by mutations in the GCDH gene, which encodes the enzyme glutaryl‑CoA dehydrogenase. Metabolic crisis in type 1 glutaric aciduria is an acute life‑threatening condition that requires careful diagnosis with a number of other conditions and the immediate initiation of pathogenetic therapy.Materials and methods. Clinical manifestations, neuroimaging characteristics of the disease were studied in 46 patients with diagnosed glutaric aciduria type 1 confirmed by biochemical and molecular genetic methods. Methods: gas chromatography with mass spectrometry, tandem mass spectrometry, Sanger sequencing, chromosomal microarray analysis of the exon level. Results and discussion. A retrospective analysis of anamnestic and clinical data was carried out, and the nature and age of disease manifestation, provoking factors, a spectrum of clinical manifestations and neuroimaging data were assessed.Conclusion. How initiated treatment prevents progression of neurological symptom relief and patient adaptation. With the help of the goal, it is necessary to inform pediatricians, neurologists and neuroradiologists about this feature of the course of glutaric aciduria type 1 in order to increase the clinical alertness of this disease.

Aim. To work out the unified model for description of coloproctological service at the level of federal district.Material and methods. The study is the summary analysis of data from the annual statistical observation “The Report of the Chief Coloproctologist of the Russian Federal District” in 2016–2018. The analysis included the following stages: the estimation of staff situation; the assessment of the main parameters of out- and inpatient coloproctological care in 2018 in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) and in its federal subjects.Results. Staff number of doctors in federal subjects of the FEFD did not change significantly in 2016-2018, it was 0.7 per 100 thousand population. An extremely low availability of outpatient consultation of coloproctologist in all federal subjects of FEFD was found (550.2 per 100 thousand population vs 3000 per 100 thousand population in Russian Federation). The incidence of colonoscopy is the lowest among all Federal Districts of Russia as well – 5.5%. A mean number of endoscopists is above 7.0 per 100 thousand population, which can be considered as the minimal threshold parameter. The total average staffing of endoscopists in the far Eastern Federal district was 86.0% in 2016, 87.3% – in 2017, 85.8% – in 2018. The staffing situation improved in Khabarovsk Territory and in Sakhalin Region while other federal subjects showed negative trend.Conclusion. The analyzed parameters can be considered as an objective tool for the assessment of coloproctological care efficacy. In the FEFD it needs further development

Abstract. The aim of present study was to evaluate a role of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV) in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) progression under experimental conditions. To this purpose, structural core-protein and nonstructural proteins of viral replication complex, as well as genomic and replicative RNA chains were determined in PBMCs of CHC patients. Blood samples were analyzed from 83 patients at different stages of the disease. Viral proteins were identified in PBMC by cytochemical staining and flow cytometry using 17 monoclonal antibodies. Genomic and replicative HCV RNA chains were detected by means of RT-PCR. HCV proteins were present in PBMC of 86% patients, the occurrence of NS5A protein being the highest. Viral proteins were located exclusively in cytoplasm of the blood cells, predominantly, monocytes, the number of HCV-positive lymphocytes being much lower. Genomic and replicative HCV RNA chains were detected in 95 and 51% patients, respectively. A statistically significant positive correlation was revealed between accumulation of viral proteins in PBMCs, and CHC progression estimated on the basis of alanine aminotransferase level, histological activity index, and degree of liver fibrosis. In majority of the patients, an imbalance in lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio was shown. Accumulation of HCV proteins in PBMCs exhibited a statistically significant correlation with a decrease in total number of mononuclears. The data obtained suggest that PBMCs are a site of active viral replication, which may cause immune disorders and result into more severe clinical course of CHC. (Med. Abstract. The level of soluble forms (s–forms) of membranous antigenes can reflect the cellular immunity state and play a role of diagnostic and predictive markers in various diseases. Quantitative detection of the serum levels of sFas (CD95), sCD38 and sHLA–DR was carried out in 135 patients with acute and chronic hepatitis C. The concentrations of soluble antigens were defined in a sandwich ELISA with the use of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to sFas, sCD38 and sHLA–DR antigens. The received results have been compared to the virological, clinical and morphological data. The increase in the levels of the investigated antigenes has been registered both in acute and chronic courses of the disease in comparison with healthy donors. It has been established, that sFas and sHLA–DR levels directly correlated with accumulation of virus proteins in a liver cells and with the first genotype of HCV (1a and 1b), were considerably reduced in liver fibrosis, but were not connected with a degree of necroinflammatory changes in liver tissue and aminotransferase level. The sCD38 levels increased to the greater degree in comparison with sFas and sHLA–DR both in acute and in chronic hepatitis, it increased in high histologic activity of hepatitis and in the first genotype of HCV, but it was reduced in active expression of NS4A protein in liver cells. It was shown, that low sCD38 level in patients with acute hepatitis C can be favorable prognostic sign for the disease outcome. On the basis of the received results it is possible to conclude, that soluble forms of membranous antigenes play the important role in pathogenesis of hepatitis C. (Med.
