The topicality of the investigated problem is stipulated by the demand for specialists able to develop algorithmic preparedness to perform professional activities, the level of which corresponds to modern level of technological production. The purpose of the article is to diagnose the influence of the synchronous pedagogical control on the development of preparedness for the algorithmic presentation of the independent work of the students of professional and pedagogical university. The leading approach to the study of this problem is the method of algorithmic presentation of the synchronous pedagogical control of the process of assimilation by the students of the professional knowledge and skills, enabling them to develop in algorithmic preparedness corresponding to the level of complexity of the implemented educational and professional activities. The article deals with the psychological and pedagogical approaches in the study of algorithmic preparedness to work independently as well as with the arrangements for the synchronous type of the pedagogical control in the discipline of profile preparation of students of the Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University and with the results achieved during experimental search of work indicating the effectiveness and efficiency of this type of control. The materials of the article may be useful to teachers of vocational training in the organization of practical training in the disciplines of profile preparation containing procedural knowledge and skills and, consequently, an algorithmic nature. © 2016 Dneprov et al

ALTERATION OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCE CONTENT IN "HEXACHLORAN DUST" PESTICIDE FORMULATION AT EXPOSURE TO ELECTRON BEAM

The most popular methods of organochlorinated pesticides (OCP) destruction, which are based on thermal dechlorination, are not ecologically safe. The other process – radiation-chemical degradation – has got some advantages. It does not involve high temperatures and expensive reagents. In this study, the effective OCP degradation was observed under irradiation of residuals of the active substance of ‘Hexachloran dust’ pesticide formulation, intended for utilization. Parameters for the preparation powder (dry form) exposure to electron beam are discussed. It is shown that at the exposure to electron beam at dose of 100 kGy, the degradation degree of hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers in a composition of active substance achieves 56.2–66.3%

Grin, T. V. Zvyagintsevа, O. V. Naumova, V. V. Grin Kharkiv National Medical University, Kharkov, [email protected] AbstractWe evaluated Thiotriazoline ointment effects modification by incorporating silver nanoparticles in experimental thermal burns. Studies were carried out on 78 rat population WAG (4 groups, each group of 6 rats): 1 – intact; 2 – burn (without treatment), 3 – burn + "Thiotriazoline ointment 2%", the reference drug; 4 – burn + Thiotriazoline ointment with silver nanoparticles (0.00081%). We studied the skin morphological changes upon thermal damage. We have found that the incorporation of silver nanoparticles in Thiotriazoline ointment modifies its healing action; reparative process takes place more intensively than with Thiotriazoline ointments, which is confirmed by destructive process restriction within epidermis and derma, epithelialization acceleration and complete closure of the defect at 21th day of thermal burn healing versus 28th day with reference drug use. Keywords: Thiotriazoline ointment with silver nanoparticles, thermal burns

Dynamic maps: a visual-analytic methodology for exploring spatio-temporal disease patterns

Abstract

Background

Epidemiologic studies are often confounded by the human and environmental interactions that are complex and dynamic spatio-temporal processes. Hence, it is difficult to discover nuances in the data and generate pertinent hypotheses. Dynamic mapping, a method to simultaneously visualize temporal and spatial information, was introduced to elucidate such complexities. A conceptual framework for dynamic mapping regarding principles and implementation methods was proposed.

Methods

The spatio-temporal dynamics of <it>Salmonella </it>infections for 2002 in the U.S. elderly were depicted via dynamic mapping. Hospitalization records were obtained from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. To visualize the spatial relationship, hospitalization rates were computed and superimposed onto maps of environmental exposure factors including livestock densities and ambient temperatures. To visualize the temporal relationship, the resultant maps were composed into a movie.

Results

The dynamic maps revealed that the <it>Salmonella </it>infections peaked at specific spatio-temporal loci: more clusters were observed in the summer months and higher density of such clusters in the South. The peaks were reached when the average temperatures were greater than 83.4°F (28.6°C). Although the relationship of salmonellosis rates and occurrence of temperature anomalies was non-uniform, a strong synchronization was found between high broiler chicken sales and dense clusters of cases in the summer.

Conclusions

Dynamic mapping is a practical visual-analytic technique for public health practitioners and has an outstanding potential in providing insights into spatio-temporal processes such as revealing outbreak origins, percolation and travelling waves of the diseases, peak timing of seasonal outbreaks, and persistence of disease clusters.</p
