Antioxidant Activity Test Combination Inclusion of Curcumin-β-Cyclodextrin Complex and Aloe vera

Free radicals occur from regular cellular metabolism. Free radicals are atoms or molecules with one or more unpaired electrons in their valence shell or outer orbit. Antioxidants are substances that are capable of neutralizing free radicals by contributing electrons to them. Curcumin is a polyphenolic molecule with numerous health benefits, including the capacity to combat free radicals as an antioxidant. Aloe vera is another plant known to contain a high concentration of bioactive compounds with antioxidant potential. Using the DPPH method, we evaluated the antioxidant capacity of the Curcumin-β-Cyclodextrin Complex and Aloe vera combination. According to the results of our investigation, the combination of curcumin-β-cyclodextrin and Aloe vera inclusion complexes has greater antioxidant capacity than the use of either component alone. However, additional research employing a variety of methodologies is required to determine the antioxidant potential of this combination

Arahan Pengembangan Kawasan Wisata Pantai Nepa Berdasarkan Preferensi Pengunjung Kecamatan Banyuates Kabupaten Sampang

Kecamatan Banyuates, Kabupaten Sampang, memiliki kawasan wisata pantai Nepa, yang terdiri dari 6 potensi wisata di 3 desa, yakni wisata alam pantai Nepa, wisata alam hutan kera Nepa, makam petilasan Raden Segoro, wisata arung laut, wisata budaya Rokat Tase', dan wisata buatan waduk Nipah, di Desa Batioh, Desa Nepa, dan Desa Montor. Penelitian deskriptif ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif, yang digunakan untuk mencapai sasaran pertama analisis potensi wisata, sasaran kedua analisis preferensi pengunjung, hingga sasaran terakhir merumuskan arahan pengembangan kawasan wisata pantai Nepa berdasarkan preferensi pengunjung. Rumusan arahan pengembangan kawasan tersebut menghasilkan arahan pengembangan berupa penyediaan, perbaikan, pemeliharaan, dan peningkatan akses prasarana dan sarana pariwisata, peningkatan kesadaran terhadap kelestarian lingkungan dan sikap masyarakat terhadap pengunjung dengan nilai-nilai sapta pesona, penambahan jenis atraksi wisata, penyediaan akomodasi, peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, dan promosi kawasan, untuk setiap potensi wisata

Vascular endothelial growth factor directly inhibits primitive neural stem cell survival but promotes definitive neural stem cell survival

There are two types of neural stem cells (NSCs). Primitive NSCs [leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) dependent but exogenous fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 2 independent] can be derived from mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells in vitro and from embryonic day 5.5 (E5.5) to E7.5 epiblast and E7.5-E8.5 neuroectoderm in vivo. Definitive NSCs (LIF independent but FGF2 dependent) first appear in the E8.5 neural plate and persist throughout life. Primitive NSCs give rise to definitive NSCs. Loss and gain of functions were used to study the role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A and its receptor, Flk1, in NSCs. The numbers of Flk1 knock-out mice embryo-derived and ES cell-derived primitive NSCs were increased because of the enhanced survival of primitive NSCs. In contrast, neural precursor-specific, Flk1 conditional knock-out mice-derived, definitive NSCs numbers were decreased because of the enhanced cell death of definitive NSCs. These effects were not observed in cells lacking Flt1, another VEGF receptor. In addition, the cell death stimulated by VEGF-A of primitive NSC and the cell survival stimulated by VEGF-A of definitive NSC were blocked by Flk1/Fc-soluble receptors and VEGF-A function-blocking antibodies. These VEGF-A phenotypes also were blocked by inhibition of the downstream effector nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B). Thus, both the cell death of primitive NSC and the cell survival of definitive NSC induced by VEGF-A stimulation are mediated by bifunctional NF-kappa B effects. This study aims to determine 1) the significance ofdifferences in the average financial performance of the DistrictGovernment of Bengkalis first period and second period, and 2) thesignificance of differences in the average well-being of communities inthe District Bengkalis in first period and second period. The researchwas conducted in the District Bengkalis, using secondary data, theanalytical techniques used are independent samplet-test of variablefinancial performance include : a) self-sufficiency ratio, b)effectiveness of local own-source revenue ratio, c) efficiencyexpenditure ratio, d) the ratio of expenditure harmony of and welfareof the community include an indicator variable a) HumanDevelopment Index (HDI), b) longevity, c) mean of years schooling,d) number of literacy, and e) decent live. The result of the financialperformance of the variable regions showed that : 1) self-sufficiencyratio was significant between period I and period II. 2) effectivenessof local own-source revenue ratio, efficiency expenditure ratio, theratio harmony of state apparatus expenditure and indirectexpenditure, the ratio harmony of public services expenditure anddirect expenditure was not significant between period I and period II.While the result of research on welfare variable showed that HumanDevelopment Index, longevity, mean years schooling, the number ofliteracy, and decent live was significant between period I and periodII

Perancangan Mobile Augmented Reality dengan Metode Interactive Multimedia System Design Development (Studi Kasus: Brosur di Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Dumai)

Media brosur merupakan salah satu media untuk menyampaikan informasi yang berfungsi sebagai menjelaskan atau mempresentasikan suatu produk, USAha, profil Perusahan atau sarana untuk beriklan. Oleh karena itu brosur sering kali di desain dengan semenarik mungkin agar menarik minat pembaca.Terkadang informasi yang tersedia di brosur tidak cukup memberikan banyak informasi karena terbatasnya ruang yang tersedia pada brosur. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, penulis melakukan penelitian menggunakan media brosur mobile augmented reality dengan pendekatan metode Interactive Multimedia System Design Development (IMSDD) untuk studi kasus mempromosikan informasi mengenai Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Dumai. Penggunaan metode IMSDD mampu menghasilkan objek 3D gedung dan video yang dikemas dalam bentuk media brosur sebagai user interfaces object 3D dan video berbasis teknologi Augmented Reality.Aplikasi ini menggunakan Virtualbutton pada marker untuk multiobjek 3D gedung dan video yang akan ditampilkan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi Heuristik dari pengujian alpha testing ditemukan bahwa pada aplikasi tidak mempunyai error prevention dan help user recognize yaitu tidak terdapatnya pesan error jika terjadi kesalahan tapi dua hal tesebut tidak berdampak pada penggunaannya karena jika konten dari 3D tidak muncul pada aplikasi yang berjalan, pengguna cukup kembali melakukan capturing pada marker

Analisis Komparatif Evaluasi Performa Algoritma Klasifikasi Pada Readmisi Pasien Diabetes

. Readmission is associated with quality measures on patients in hospitals. Different attributes related to diabetic patients such as medication, ethnicity, race, lifestyle, age, and others result in the calculation of quality care that tends to be complicated. Classification techniques of data mining can solve this problem. In this paper, the evaluation on three different classifiers, i.e. Decision Tree, k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN), dan Naive Bayes with various settingparameter, is developed by using 10-Fold Cross Validation technique. The targets of parameter performance evaluated is based on term of Accuracy, Mean Absolute Error (MAE), dan Kappa Statistic. The selected dataset consists of 47 attributes and 49.735 records. The result shows that k-NN classifier with k=100 has a better performance in term of accuracy and Kappa Statistic, but Naive Bayes outperforms in term of MAE among other classifiers
