    ABSTRACT The objectives of the research are to examine the effect of the information asymmetry, profitability, and leverage on the firm value both simultaneously and partially. In this research the firm value using price to book value as the proxy. Data obtained from the financial statements and annual reports of manufacturing companies that listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Research conduct in 4 years (2012-2014). By using purposive sampling, there are 35 companies fulfilling the sample criteria of the sample. Multiple linear regression was used to test the hypothesis. The results of this research are information asymmetry, profitability, and leverage simultaneously affect on the firm value. Information asymmetry not partially affect on the firm value. Profitability partially affect on the firm value. Leverage partially affect on the firm value.Keywords: information asymmetry, profitability, leverage, firm value, price to book value.ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh asimetri informasi, profitabilitas, dan leverage terhadap nilai perusahaan secara simultan dan parsial. Dalam penelitian ini, nilai perusahaan diproksikan dengan price to book value. Data diperoleh dari laporan dan laporan tahunan perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Periode penelitian yang digunakan adalah 3 tahun yaitu 2012-2014. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling sehingga terdapat 35 perusahaan yang memenuhi kriteria sampel. Regresi linier berganda digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa asimetri informasi, profitabilitas, dan leverage berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Asimetri informasi tidak berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap nilai perusahaan. Profitabilitas berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap nilai perusahaan.     Chiropractic treatment of older adults with neck pain with or without headache or dizziness: Analysis of 288 Australian chiropractors' self-reported views

    © 2019 The Author(s). Background: Neck pain is a leading cause of individual and societal burden worldwide, affecting an estimated 1 in 5 people aged 70 years and older. The nature and outcomes of chiropractic care for older adults with neck pain, particularly those with co-morbid headaches, remains poorly understood. Therefore, we sought to ascertain: What proportion of Australian chiropractors' caseload comprises older adults with neck pain (with or without headache); How are these conditions treated; What are the reported outcomes? Methods: An online survey examining practitioner and practice characteristics, clinical patient presentations, chiropractic treatment methods and outcomes, and other health service use, was distributed to a random nationally representative sample of 800 Australian chiropractors. Quantitative methods were used to analyze the data. Results: Two hundred eighty-eight chiropractors (response rate = 36%) completed the survey between August and November 2017. Approximately one-third (M 28.5%, SD 14.2) of the chiropractors' patients were older adults (i.e. aged ≥65 years), of which 45.5% (SD 20.6) presented with neck pain and 31.3% (SD 20.3) had co-morbid headache. Chiropractors reported to combine a range of physical and manual therapy treatments, exercises and self-management practices in their care of these patients particularly: manipulation of the thoracic spine (82.0%); activator adjustment of the neck (77.3%); and massage of the neck (76.5%). The average number of visits required to resolve headache symptoms was reported to be highest among those with migraine (M 11.2, SD 8.8). The majority of chiropractors (57.3%) reported a moderate response to treatment in reported dizziness amongst older adults with neck pain. Approximately 82% of older adult patients were estimated to use at least one other health service concurrently to chiropractic care to manage their neck pain. Conclusion: This is the first known study to investigate chiropractic care of older adults living with neck pain. Chiropractors report using well-established conservative techniques to manage neck pain in older adults. Our findings also indicate that this target group of patients may frequently integrate chiropractic care with other health services in order to manage their neck pain. Further research should provide in-depth investigation of older patients' experience and other patient-reported outcomes of chiropractic treatment

    Risk assessment of sari fatemeh zahra hospital using failure mode effect analysis, individualized rapid assessment tool, and preliminary hazard analysis

    Abstract Background and purpose: Identification of risk in hospital waste management have a major role in reducing the cost of surplus and preventing the spread of diseases. In this quantitative analysis, we aimed at determining waste components, evaluating hospital waste management, and prioritizing the risks in Sari Fatemeh Zahra Hospital. Materials and methods: We performed a descriptive-cross-sectional study in 2015. Tchobanoglous method was used for quantitative-physical analysis of the waste. The individualized rapid assessment tool was applied to evaluate waste management. Preliminary Hazard Analysis and failure mode and effect analysis models were used to identify and prioritize the risks. Results: Total waste production, general waste, infectious wastes, and sharp objects were 1011.54, 600.45, 384.94, and 26.15 kg/day, respectively. Plastics, organic materials, and textiles constituted the highest amount of waste products. According to the individualized rapid assessment tool, the score obtained by the hospital was 82.15% indicating an excellent waste management. In preliminary hazard analysis, failure mode, and effect analysis models, 23 errors were observed, of which 9 had a priority number greater than 100. Conclusion: The models studied showed that mixing the sharp waste material with other garbage, disposal of non-infectious and semi-household waste in infectious bins and vice versa are of high risk and need corrective measures.     Molecular contribution of BRCA1 and BRCA2 to genome instability in breast cancer patients: Review of radiosensitivity assays

    Background: DNA repair pathways, cell cycle arrest checkpoints, and cell death induction are present in cells to process DNA damage and prevent genomic instability caused by various extrinsic and intrinsic ionizing factors. Mutations in the genes involved in these pathways enhances the ionizing radiation sensitivity, reduces the individual's capacity to repair DNA damages, and subsequently increases susceptibility to tumorigenesis. Body: BRCA1 and BRCA2 are two highly penetrant genes involved in the inherited breast cancer and contribute to different DNA damage pathways and cell cycle and apoptosis cascades. Mutations in these genes have been associated with hypersensitivity and genetic instability as well as manifesting severe radiotherapy complications in breast cancer patients. The genomic instability and DNA repair capacity of breast cancer patients with BRCA1/2 mutations have been analyzed in different studies using a variety of assays, including micronucleus assay, comet assay, chromosomal assay, colony-forming assay, γ-H2AX and 53BP1 biomarkers, and fluorescence in situ hybridization. The majority of studies confirmed the enhanced spontaneous & radiation-induced radiosensitivity of breast cancer patients compared to healthy controls. Using G2 micronucleus assay and G2 chromosomal assay, most studies have reported the lymphocyte of healthy carriers with BRCA1 mutation are hypersensitive to invitro ionizing radiation compared to non-carriers without a history of breast cancer. However, it seems this approach is not likely to be useful to distinguish the BRCA carriers from non-carrier with familial history of breast cancer. Conclusion: In overall, breast cancer patients are more radiosensitive compared to healthy control; however, inconsistent results exist about the ability of current radiosensitive techniques in screening BRCA1/2 carriers or those susceptible to radiotherapy complications. Therefore, developing further radiosensitivity assay is still warranted to evaluate the DNA repair capacity of individuals with BRCA1/2 mutations and serve as a predictive factor for increased risk of cancer mainly in the relatives of breast cancer patients. Moreover, it can provide more evidence about who is susceptible to manifest severe complication after radiotherapy. © 2020 The Author(s)

    A Survey of Air-to-Ground Propagation Channel Modeling for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

    In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly for small UAVs, due to their affordable prices, ease of availability, and ease of operability. Existing and future applications of UAVs include remote surveillance and monitoring, relief operations, package delivery, and communication backhaul infrastructure. Additionally, UAVs are envisioned as an important component of 5G wireless technology and beyond. The unique application scenarios for UAVs necessitate accurate air-to-ground (AG) propagation channel models for designing and evaluating UAV communication links for control/non-payload as well as payload data transmissions. These AG propagation models have not been investigated in detail when compared to terrestrial propagation models. In this paper, a comprehensive survey is provided on available AG channel measurement campaigns, large and small scale fading channel models, their limitations, and future research directions for UAV communication scenarios

    Oridonin Could Inhibit Inflammation and T-cell Immunoglobulin and Mucin-3/Galectin-9 (TIM-3/Gal-9) Autocrine Loop in the Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cell Line (U937) as Compared to Doxorubicin

    The T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-3 (TIM-3)/galectin-9 (Gal-9) autocrine loop is an indispensable signaling in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells, which induces their self-renewal through activation of nuclear factor-kappa b (NF-kB) and β-catenin pathways. In this study, we evaluated the effects of oridonin and doxorubicin on the TIM-3/Gal-9 autocrine loop. We also evaluated oridonin anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties on U937 cells, as an AML cell line in comparison to doxorubicin as a common anthracycline drug for AML treatment. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) was applied to evaluate the cytotoxicity of oridonin and doxorubicin on U937 cells and also to determine the impact of galectin-9 (Gal-9) on their proliferation. The effects of oridonin and doxorubicin on Gal-9, TIM-3, and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) gene expression were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The Gal-9 secretion level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and activation of NF-kB pathway was assessed by western blotting. In a dose-dependent manner, oridonin and doxorubicin were capable to eradicate U937 cells while Gal-9 expanded them. Following the treatment of U937 cells with oridonin, the expression of Gal-9, TIM-3, and IL-1β genes was down-regulated, and the Gal-9 secretion and NF-kB phosphorylation were diminished, whereas doxorubicin increased all of these factors. Doxorubicin is a common treatment agent in AML, but it may induce inflammation and up-regulate the TIM3/Gal-9 autocrine loop, consequently can enhance the possibility of disease relapse. Meanwhile, oridonin is capable to inhibit the essential signaling pathways in AML cells and reduce the inflammation and expansion of tumor cells and postpone AML recurrence

    Ubiquitous Spin Freezing in the Superconducting State of UTe2

    In most superconductors electrons form Cooper pairs in a spin-singlet state mediated by either phonons or by long-range interactions such as spin fluctuations. The superconductor UTe2_2 is a rare material wherein electrons are believed to form pairs in a unique spin-triplet state with potential topological properties. While spin-triplet pairing may be mediated by ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic fluctuations, experimentally, the magnetic properties of UTe2_2 are unclear. By way of muon spin rotation/relaxation (μ\muSR) measurements on independently grown UTe2_2 single crystals we demonstrate the existence of magnetic clusters that gradually freeze into a disordered spin frozen state at low temperatures. Our findings suggest that inhomogeneous freezing of magnetic clusters is linked to the ubiquitous residual linear term in the temperature dependence of the specific heat (CC) and the low-temperature upturn in C/TC/T versus TT. The omnipresent magnetic inhomogeneity has potential implications for experiments aimed at establishing the intrinsic low-temperature properties of UTe2_2.Comment: 33 pages, 9 figure
