    International audienceA cDNA library of Ob1771 preadipocytes was constructed, and a cDNA clone designated pOb24 was isolated by differential screening. The pOb24 mRNA, 6 kilobases in length, rose sharply in early differentiating Ob1771 and 3T3-F442A cells and decreased thereafter. In mouse adipose tissue, it was present at a high level in stromal-vascular cells (containing adipose precursor cells) and at a low level in mature adipocytes. Thus, pOb24 mRNA appears to be both in vitro and in vivo an unique marker of the preadipose state, i.e. of cell commitment during adipose cell differentiation. In contrast to glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase mRNA, the emergence of pOb24 mRNA in Ob1771 cells required neither growth hormone or triiodothyronine as obligatory hormones nor insulin as a modulating hormone. Comparative studies of the expression of pOb24 and dihydrofolate reductase genes during the cell cycle suggest that arrest at the G1/S boundary was critical for the entry into the preadipose state. Tumor necrosis factor and transforming growth factor-beta were able to induce a large decrease of pOb24 mRNA level in growth-arrested Ob1771 cells. This decrease was shown to be only confined to early differentiating, glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase negative cells as no decrease of pOb24 mRNA level was observed in glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase positive cells. This result suggests that signals generated by tumor necrosis factor and transforming growth factor-beta have no effect on a commitment-related gene in late differentiated cells

    L’Inra, en partenariat avec l’universitĂ© Paris-XIII (UniversitĂ© Sorbonne Paris Nord), l’Inserm, le Cnam et Grenoble INP, a contribuĂ© Ă  dĂ©velopper un Ă©tiquetage nutritionnel Ă  cinq couleurs, le Nutri-Score, dont l’objectif est d’inciter les Français Ă  limiter leur consommation de produits riches en gras, en sel, en sucre et en calories, pour lutter contre la progression de l’obĂ©sitĂ© et des maladies chroniques. Au terme d’un dĂ©bat public animĂ©, d’une Ă©tude grandeur nature testant quatre systĂšmes d’information, et de travaux de recherche qui ont constituĂ© progressivement un dossier scientifique permettant de soutenir la dĂ©cision politique, un arrĂȘtĂ© interministĂ©riel a reconnu en octobre 2017 le Nutri-Score comme le systĂšme d’information nutritionnelle officiel pour la France.MalgrĂ© des rĂ©sistances initiales, le Nutri-Score a Ă©tĂ© adoptĂ© sur la base du volontariat par plus de 200 entreprises, distributeurs et industriels, reprĂ©sentant fin 2019 plus de 20% des parts de marchĂ© des produits laitiers, des plats cuisinĂ©s et des aliments transformĂ©s suivis par l’Observatoire de l’alimentation (OQALI).Cette Ă©volution prĂ©sage d’un impact nutritionnel potentiellement important pour les consommateurs, dans la mesure oĂč le Nutri-Score leur donnera les moyens d’amĂ©liorer la qualitĂ© nutritionnelle de leurs achats alimentaires. D’autre part, on observe que les industriels ont engagĂ© les premiĂšres reformulations nutritionnelles de leurs produits alimentaires, afin d’amĂ©liorer leurs scores. Le Nutri-Score a rapidement dĂ©passĂ© les frontiĂšres françaises : il a Ă©tĂ© adoptĂ© en Belgique en 2018 puis en Allemagne et en Espagne en 2019. En France, l’AssemblĂ©e Nationale a votĂ© en 2019 un amendement pour rendre l’utilisation du Nutri-Score obligatoire pour la publicitĂ© alimentaire. Les pouvoirs publics ont Ă©galement annoncĂ© son extension Ă  la restauration collective et aux aliments vendus en vrac.
