    This study is using a qualitative that aimed to describe the social livelihoods of weavers' families in Bira, knowing their cultural values that affect the lives of weavers' families. The subject in this study was selected purposively from weavers' families in Bira with the following criteria. (1) Bira women who are working as silk weavers and (2) Bira women whose husbands sail and return after months. In addition, additional informants were also chosen: village heads, staffs and community leaders. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data collected from the observations, interviews, and documentation analyzed qualitatively with Compound Analysis techniques. The results of this study concluded as follows: (1) The Social livelihoods life of the Weaver family in Bira was very simple, both from the level of education and income level. However, they still exist to carry on weaving activities, to family income, as well as to kill boredom, waiting for the husband to return from the sea, and without realizing it, it turns out weaving as maintaining their culture which is inherited from parents, grandmothers, and predecessors decades ago. They were also very loyal to their husbands, and because of that they never sounded an affair, they never divorced even though they were left behind long ago by husbands who sailed. (2) The life of the Weaver family in Bira is strongly influenced by cultural values which are reflected in their views on the meaning and principle of life, the meaning, and principle of work and creation, the meaning of the relationship with nature and the meaning of living relationships with fellow human beings. They view life as part of their service; they do not dream much to see life as an attempt to gain a position. Work is for life, not to achieve position and life solely for charity and devoted. The nature according to them can be conquered to be used for the life of mankind. They assume that generally humans are good and that is why cooperation is needed.     Artikel ini bertujuan memperoleh gambaran kehidupan masa lalu empat Majikan dan Pembantu Rumah Tangga, kecenderungan pola interaksi sosial diantara mereka, dan status sosial yang cenderung melahirkan hubungan yang asosiatif dan disasosiatif antara Majikan dan PRT. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan strategi fenomenologis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian pada empat Pembantu Rumah Tangga dan Majikannya di kota Makassar. Analisis data dilakukan dengan deskriptif kualitatif dengan model komponensial analisis. Penelitian ini berkesimpulan bahwa latar kehidupan masa lalu dan kondisi-kondisi kekinian antara Majikan dan PRT berbeda, dan perbedaan ini melahirkan hubungan yang tidak seimbang dan menjadi embrio lahirnya hubungan patron klien

Bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pemanfaatan buah kecombrang menjadi produk minuman yang layak dijadikan industri rumah tangga. Pada tahun pertama dilaksanakan pengembangan Model Joke untuk memandu penelitian ini, dilanjutkan dengan eksperimen di laboratorium untuk mendapatkan formula yang tepat yang dijadikan prototype model dan bahan ajar dalam pelatihan. Menggunakan model pelatihan yang sudah dikembangkan dari model pembelajaran life skills berbasis wirausaha. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan model penelitian dan pengembangan (Model Joke), Model Pelatihan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Berbasis Industri Rumah Tangga, Buku Ajar, Produk Minuman dan Sirup Kecombrang Aneka Rasa, Artikel yang dipersentasikan pada Seminar Nasional dan Internasional, dimuat dalam prosiding dan jurnal. Tujuannya untuk menyebarluaskan kepada masyarakat pemanfaatan kecombrang menjadi industri rumah tangga yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Puji syukur penulis panjatkan ke hadirat Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas pertolongan dan tuntunan-Nya sehingga penelitian tahun pertama ini dapat diselesaikan. PENDAHULUAN Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang berbentuk eksperimen, dilaksanakan selama dua tahun dan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pemanfaatan buah kecombrang menjadi produk minuman yang layak dijadikan industri rumah tangga. Kecombrang banyak tumbuh liar dimana-mana dengan sangat mudah tetapi pemanfaatannya masih sangat terbatas karena belum diketahui secara luas oleh masyarakat. Oleh karena itu perlu disebarluaskan dan didiseminasikan melalui hasil penelitian agar dapat dimanfaatkan secara luas oleh masyarakat karena dapat meningkatkan produktivitas masyarakat miskin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah buah kecombrang menjadi minuman dengan formula yang tepat, meningkatkan kualitas rasa, warna, tekstur, aroma, daya tahan, label dan kemasan yang baik sehingga 4 layak dijadikan industri rumah tangga yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pengembangan Model Joke, dilanjutkan dengan eksperimen di laboratorium untuk mendapatkan formula yang tepat dan lebih baik. Hasil penelitian laboratoriun ini dijadikan bahan ajar dalam pelatihan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat desa dengan menggunakan model pelatihan dan pemberdayaan yang sudah dikembangkan dari model pembelajaran life skill. Dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan/ pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk membuat minuman aneka rasa dengan rasa, warna, tektur, dan kemasan yang telah diuji di laboratorium. Pelatihan dilaksanakan bekerjasama dengan Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa. Masyarakat dimotivasi membudidayakan tanaman kecombrang sebagai bahan baku industri rumah tangga. Dengan demikian kecombrang yang selama ini tumbuh liar dan belum dikenal secara luas oleh masyarakat dapat dibudidayakan menjadi tanaman produktif yang memiliki khasiat dan manfaat yang sangat baik

    The objective of the research is to estimate the fertilizer dosage on rice production. This study was conducted from October to December 2002 at Simeulue Barat. Dosage of fertilizer combination would give high result for local rice variety: 135 kg ha N 144 kg ha P20s 120 kg ha K20+7 kg ha S+3000 kg ha Dolomite 15 kg PPC (u-Nutrima-L), where for rice variety: 135 kg ha N + 144 kg ha P-Os + 60 kg ha1 K,0+ 7 kg ha S 1500 kg ha Dolomite +15 kg PPC. The maximum yield of prime variety use of: 8,41 ton ha -1 and local variety is 5.64 ton ha1. This data shows that the maximum yield difference between prime variety (TR-64) and local variety was about 2,95 ton ha - 1 (54,03 %)

    Science and technology are very helpful in order to accelerate human work, for this reason human resources are needed that have high productivity and work efficacy so that they are able to produce the latest innovations that can meet market share needs. Education is one attempt that made to form human resources so that they can become someone who is able to analyze and be able to create the latest innovations. Many educational practitioners believe that the use of media or tools really helps the learning process activities both inside and outside, especially helping to improve student learning outcomes. In the Family Welfare Education Undergraduate Program with a concentration in Cosmetology, Makassar State University, there is a bun styling course, one of the subjects of which is Simpolong Tettong bun. The learning method currently established is a conventional learning system with the lecturer as the main source who demonstrates how to make Simpolong Tettong bun. This textbook on the Simpolong Tettong bun material was created by the author himself and is expected to add to the repertoire and references of learning media for bun styling courses. Why a textbook? Because it contains tutorials with practical explanations, easy to brought along and re-read anytime and anywhere. Research and Development (R&D) is a type of research which is used for produce certain products, and examine the efficacy of these products. The development model used by researchers is the Thiangarajan model (1974) using the 4-D model, by the definition of Define, Design, Development and Dissemination, because it is more appropriate to use as a principle to develop teaching materials that aim to improve student learning outcomes in PKK Department of Cosmetology Concentration at FT UNM

    Investigating the Project Based Learning practice on students’ social skill enhancement

    This study aims at finding out the Project Based Learning (PBL) practice in enhancing students’ soft skill. The subject of this research is four lecturers and thirty five students. The method of this research is qualitative using ethnographic design to explore to what extent the lecturers and students’ perspective on PBL material. Data was collected using observation. The results showed that the adoption of project-based learning model learning (PBL) is effective in enhancing the soft skills of students. The practice of PBL was measured by observing lecturers and students’ perspective on PBL including syllabus, module, worksheet, and soft skill indicated the very good and good level respectively. Thus, the PBL practice could give meaningful contribution to students’ socialskill enhancement

    This article is the result of preliminary research of the ongoing development research project. This study aims to produce a model and learning tool based on problem based learning (PBL). The learning tools include: Learning implementation plan (RPP), module, and model book based on problem based learning method (PBL), this study also aims to improve students'scientific thinking skills. The research method used was a research development approach. This development research adopted the Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel model which modified through four stages: define, design, development and disseminate. The subjects of this research were two lecturers from the Knowledge of Food Material class and 32 students of that class.
