    The Influence of Business Management on Income and the Risk of Income in the Broiler Chicken Farming

    Broiler meat is an important commodity to support national meat production and increase farmer's income. However, the broiler farmers are generally in a weak position in terms of poultry management. They require best management practices for increasing the business volume and income as well. This study aims to study the achievement of broiler farming business management, and the influence of the business management on income and its income in their broiler farms. This research was conducted in Lamongan regency. It used the primary data from selected the broiler farmers. The analysis method used was descriptive approach and multiple regression. The result shows that the achievement of broiler business management comprises planning 67.6%, organizing 65.68%, directing 84.18%, coordination 75.43%, and control 77.58%. The management of broiler business has a positive effect on income but negatively affects the income risk. In addition, the income of broilers is positively influenced by the cage size, experience, and business volume, and conversely, this is negatively affected by seed prices and feed prices. Meanwhile, the income risk of broiler business is positively influenced by seed price and feed price, and contrarily it is negatively influenced by the size of cage and the business volume

    The production risk of broiler farm management at plasma breeders: Evidence from Indonesia

    The broiler chicken business is essential to providing national meat consumption in Indonesia. However, the business also faces a very significant management risk.  The purpose of this research is to study broiler farm management and the effect of its business management on the production and production risk. This research was conducted in Lamongan regency of East Java by interviewing broiler chicken farmers and using descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research show that the implementation of broiler farm management reached 73.48% of ideal situation, with planning reaching 67.64% ideal situation, 65.58% for ideal organizing, 84.18% for optimal direction, 74.43% for ideal coordination, and 77.58% for ideal control. Also, the management had a positive influence on the production of the broiler livestock business, with an elasticity of 0.700. The management had a negative effect on the risk of production of broiler livestock business with the elasticity of 0.237. Production risk was negatively affected by the number of chicks and the amount of feed. To provide support for breeders in their business, it is necessary to have a policy of low cost of broiler cultivation, especially the cost of chicks and feed, by setting DOC prices and cheap or cheaper feed. Besides, it is required to develop cooperation with companies using broiler primary products, as well as certain policies so that there will be businesses that use broiler primary products as their main ingredient.JEL Classification D13; Q02; Q1

    This study aims to determine: (1) the factors that influence the production of broiler chicken farming, (2) the effect of broiler chicken business management on production, and (3) the effect of murotal Al-Qur'an and other production factors on production. This research was conducted in Malang Regency, with the consideration that Malang Regency is one of the three (3) big broiler-producing districts in East Java. As the unit of analysis is primary data from interviews with broiler breeders who were selected as respondents. The analysis tool uses multiple linear regression models using the natural form (Ln). The results showed that: (1) The production of broiler chicken farming was positively influenced by the number of seeds, the amount of feed, business management, business capacity, murotal Al-Qur'an and the volume of business above the average. Broiler chicken production is negatively affected by the area of ​​the house, the number of dead chickens, and the number of abandoned chickens. Independent variables that do not affect the production of broiler chicken farming are the management of broiler chicken raising and the number of person working days (HKO). To increase production, it is necessary to increase the number of seeds, the amount of feed, optimize the area of ​​the cage, reduce the number of dead chickens, reduce the number of dead chickens, improve business management, increase business capacity, utilize murotal Al-Qur'an and with business volume above average.     The Testing of Entrepreneurship as The Attempt to Remodel The Factor of Production in The Rice Farming

    The objective of this study was to test whether entrepreneurship can be included as a new production factor in farming business management. This study was intended to make improvement of classic economic factors of production. To achieve the purpose, the research was conducted on the rice farming at Pakis and Karangploso districts of Malang Regency, East Java. Methods analysis used were Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with PLS smart program. Primary data was collected from the farmers by interviews based on a list of prepared questions. The analysis result showed that entrepreneurship had direct effect to increase on the performance of paddy farming. This result makes more reinforced to incorporate entrepreneurship as new factor of production in farm management. The classic theory of factor of production was important to be updated because there are many empirical facts that conceptually had influence to the farming production. One of empirical facts was internal potential that owned by every farmer which is called as entrepreneurship spirit.JEL Classification: D24, L26, Q1

    The Study of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Adoption by Farmer in Improving Lowland Rice Farming

    The study of entrepreneurship and the adoption of innovations in farming so far shows a one-sided approach using a single equation model. It is not able to explore more in-depth information to improve farm management. This study aims to study (i) the performance of farming, (ii) the role of entrepreneurship and the adoption of innovative tractor use, and (iii) find the relationship between entrepreneurship, adoption of innovation, and the application of cultivation technology to the performance of lowland rice farming. The study was conducted in the village of Mattiro Ade, Patampanua sub-district, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi province. The survey was done on 50 lowland rice farmers who applied the tractor and combine harvester technology. The study uses a descriptive approach and the method of path analysis (partly least square). The results showed that the technology of tractor and combine harvester could improve farming performance, with an average yield of 6.62 tons of rice per hectare, a profit of 21.9 million rupiahs per hectare, with an R/C ratio of 3.21. Farmers exhibit perceptions of entrepreneurship and technology adoption at moderate levels. Farmers show limitations in access to information, loans or venture capital, and training in the use of tractors. The adoption of innovations by farmers deals with obstacles in terms of tractor operations, tractor prices, and the weak role of farmer groups. Entrepreneurship and technology adoption have a significant role in increasing the performance of lowland rice farming, where technology plays a role as an intervening variable. This research has important implications, namely the provision of extension workers and the empowerment of farmer groups to facilitate technology adoption and increase entrepreneurial entrepreneurship in farm management.JEL Classification: L26, O35, Q1

Proses yang mengubah seseorang menjadi anggota calon Brahmana adalah Penggolongan diri dan Perbandingan Sosial.
