A Low Power Asynchronous Viterbi Decoder using LEDR Encoding

    Get PDF
With the consumer demand for increased content and as a result, increasing high data bandwidth continuing to drive communications systems, coding for error control has become extraordinarily important. One way to improve the Bit Error Rate (BER), while maintaining high data reliability, is to use an error correction technique like the Viterbi algorithm. Originally conceived by Andrew Viterbi as an error-correction scheme for noisy digital communication, the Viterbi algorithm provides an efficient method for Forward Error Correction (FEC) that improves channel reliability. Today, it is used in many digital communications systems in applications as diverse as LTE Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), CDMA and GSM, digital cellular, dial up modems, satellite, deep-space communications, and 802.11 wireless LANs. Though it is useful for error correction it dissipates large power. A lot many researches were carried out at architectural as well as algorithmic level to optimize the ACS (Add compare and Select) unit and Survival Memory Management in Synchronous Viterbi Decoders. But still there is a problem of power dissipation which requires more technical solutions. Due to requirements of high speed, low power, low weight and long battery life a low power Viterbi decoders has a great demand in the communication field. This paper proposed the method for survivor path storage and decoding as Minimum Transition Hybrid Register Exchange Method along with handshaking protocol as Level Encoded dual rail (LEDR) encoding to make the system asynchronous. The whole system has been designed on algorithmic level and Simulation is done on Xilinx Tool for Asynchronous Viterbi Decoder using MTHREM

The antioxidant potency of acetone, chloroform and methanol extracts of Argemone mexicana was investigated by employing in vitro systems like nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) and 1,1-Diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging assay whereas antimutagenic activity was determinedby Maron and Ames assay using Salmonella typhimurium TA100 tester strain against sodium azide. In this study, dried fruits of A. mexicana were extracted with different solvents by maceration method in order of increasing polarity. It was observed that, acetone extracts were comparatively more effective than the other extracts in both the assays. The maximum inhibitory activities noticed were 79.0 and 71.0% in NBT and DPPH assay, respectively, at the maximum concentration tested. The inhibitory potential was compared with standard antioxidant (L-ascorbic acid). The IC50 value of the acetone extract of the fruit of A. mexicana was more than that of L-ascorbic acid showing the maximum inhibitory effect. Among the different extracts, the antimutagenic effect of methanol extract was found to be more followed by acetone and chloroform extracts. The methanol extract showed maximum inhibition of 80.5% at doses of 1.00~1033 μg/ml in pre-incubation modes of the experiments, respectively. Chloroform extract showed maximum inhibition of 62.14 and 50.71% in co-incubation and pre-incubation mode of experiments at the highest concentration tested. Antimutagenicity of the acetone extract was more in co-incubation than pre-incubation mode of theexperimentation. These results indicate that, A. mexicana fruit extracts have antioxidant as well as antimutagenic properties. The antioxidant and antimutagenic activities were significantly correlated.Key words: Argemone mexicana, antioxidant, antimutagenic, sodium azide

Multi drug resistance and &#946-lactamase production by Klebsiella pneumoniae

    Get PDF
The extended spectrum -lactamase (ESBL) production and multidrug resistant of Klebsiella pneumoniae in children below 5 years of ages are investigated. The K. pneumoniae strains isolated from patients suffering from intestinal and extra intestinal infection between the 0 - 5 year’s ages of children showed resistant to the three antibiotics (ceftazidime, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone), and coexist with non -lactam resistance and ESBL production. All the strains were susceptibility to the antibiotic, imipenem. Out off 110 strains only 9 strains produced ESBL. The plasmid responsible for the antibiotic resistance and ESBL production can be transferred to recipient Escherichia coli strain

Crop Security Model for Improvement in Agricultural Productivity Using Iot: Smart Farming

    Get PDF
Most of the time in agriculture field, crops ravaged by local animals that leads to huge losses for the farmers. It’s very difficult for farmers to barricade entire fields and monitors continuously. Here the crop protection system model is developed for the farmers to prevent the crops from the animals. The model adopts the Arduino Uno based system and uses wired security that gives the shock to animals if they are approaching the field. The fire sensor is also used in the model to detect fire issues. In such situations, the microcontroller will turn ON the motor if there is a fire that interns intimate the farmers through mobile application. The temperature sensor and humidity sensors are also used in the model to provide the details of temperature and soil moisture of the field. The experimental values obtained by the model ensure complete safety of crops from animals and from fire thus protecting the farmer’s loss. In addition, mobile applications are also developed to provide the details of parameters such as temperature, moisture, water levels to farmers

Limb body wall complex (LBWC) /Body stalk syndrome anomaly refers to a rare complicated polymalformative fetal malformation syndrome of uncertain etiology firstly described by Van Allen et al in 1987. There are very few cases reported in literature and thus we report a rare case of LBWC. Twenty seven years female presented to labour room with 32 weeks of gestation with no prenatal care and delivered a low birth weight still born fetus weighing 1100gms. On fetal autopsy large abdominal wall defect was noted with difficulty in identifying abdomino-pelvic organs and ambiguous genitalia. Placenta weighed 250gms with attached short umbilical cord measuring 7cms, arising from periphery. A cyst noted attached to placental membrane measuring 9x5cms which on dissection retrieved partially maldeveloped organs. Post mortem radiological findings included Absence of right femur with short tibia and right fibula, Complex vestibral malformation, Craniosynostosis and Overcrowding of ribs
