Gerakan Religio-Kultural MTA Dakwah, Mobilisasi Dan Tafsir- Tanding
This article investigates the role of Majelis Tafsir Al-Qur\u27an (MTA), a dakwah movement operating aminly in Central Java. MTA is known as the Muslim purist movement whose mission focuses on the purification of Islam by utilizing the slogan back to the Qur\u27an and Sunnah. Using the social movemenet theory, the author analyzes the extent to which MTA uses cultural dakwah or symbolic-cultural mobilization as its dakwah strategy in order to produce counter-interpretation towards the established and hegemonic interpretation of the Javanese culture. Cultural dakwah can mean a bolization process of Javanese symbols by ataching new meaning and interpretation to thos symbols. The author further argues that even though the MTA\u27s dakwah movement is mainly characterized by confontative attitudes, the MATA has also shown its acomodative character by introducing new new understanding and meaning of the existing cultural symbols
THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTSâ READING COMPREHENSION COMPETENCE AND GRAMMAR MASTERY WITH RESPECT TO TENSES AND PRONOUNS (A Case Study at Kurnia Excellent Course, Demak)
ABSTRACT
This study aims at finding out the correlation between studentsâ reading comprehension competence and grammar mastery with respect to tenses and pronouns.
There are three stages in conducting this research.
The first is gathering, selecting and classifying data. Spreading questionnaire and conducting test are used to gather factors that influence studentsâ learning outcomes and studentsâ ability in reading comprehension, tenses and pronouns mastery. The population in this study is the students of Kurnia Excellent Course, Demak in the Academic Year of the 2010/2011.
The second stage is to analyze data using product moment correlation test to know the correlation between grammar mastery consisting of tenses and pronouns with reading comprehension. Meanwhile, multiple linier regression is used to know the correlation between tenses and pronouns mastery simultaneously with reading comprehension competence.
The third is to present the results. The results show that tenses mastery significantly correlate with reading comprehension (r = 0.919), the correlation between pronouns mastery and reading comprehension is significant too (r = 0.899). Multiple regression analysis obtain p-value less than 5%, so there is significant correlation between tenses and pronouns mastery with reading comprehension. Most of the students at Kurnia Excellent Course, Demak in the Academic Year of the 2010/2011 have mastered pronouns, tenses and reading comprehension. Model Tafsir Al-QurâÄn MTA (Majelis Tafsir Al-QurâÄn) di antara Tafsir dan Ideologi
This article deals with the QurâÄnic interpretation offered by Majelis Tafsir Al-QurâÄn (MTA). It tries to answer several questions: to what extent MTA has interpreted the QurâÄn, how it fits (or does not fit) with its ambitious claim that it does not offer any kind of QurâÄnic interpretation, and how this interpretation demonstrates the development of MTAâs thought in understanding the QurâÄn. This article reaches the conclusion that, although MTA claims not to interpret the QurâÄn, in fact it has made such a certain degree of interpretation of the QurâÄn. Its puritan ideology seems to have played a considerable role in colouring its QurâÄnic understanding. SOME DIFFICULTIES IN UNDERSTANDING ENGLISH TENSES AND ASPECTS FOR INDONESIA LEARNERS
Banyak pembelajar bahasa Inggris mengira bahwa tenses mempunyai hubunngan yang erat dengan waktu. Mereka sering membagi tenses menjadi beberapa macam waktu umpamanya sekarang, lampau, sedang, selesai, akan datang, dll. Mereka sering mendapatkan kesukaran karena kenyataannya baik guru maupun pembelajar tidak pernah memahami perbedaan antara tenses dan aspek. Dengan memberi pengertian yang jelas konsep tenses dan aspek serta teknik pengajaran tata bahasa yang menekankan pada pemahaman kedua konsep tadi pengajar bisa dengan mudah mengajak pembelajar mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan tersebut
