On domination number of 4-regular graphs

    Get PDF
summary:Let GG be a simple graph. A subset S⊆VS \subseteq V is a dominating set of GG, if for any vertex v∈V −Sv \in V~- S there exists a vertex u∈Su \in S such that uv∈E(G)uv \in E (G). The domination number, denoted by γ(G)\gamma (G), is the minimum cardinality of a dominating set. In this paper we prove that if GG is a 4-regular graph with order nn, then γ(G)≤411n\gamma (G) \le \frac{4}{11}n

Gearbox fault diagnosis based on autocorrelation and HHT

Propose to a method of gearbox fault diagnosis based on autocorrelation and HHT. The method of Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) separate gearbox vibration signal data into several intrinsic mode function (IMF). Through the autocorrelation analysis of each IMF component, which can effectively eliminate the noise component, rapidly and accurately screen out IMF component containing characteristic information of gear fault, and then transform it for Hilbert-Huang, and get the gearbox fault characteristic frequency. After testing real gearbox vibration signals, it shows that the method has higher engineering value

Effect of Corrosion and Corrosion Rate on the Mechanical Performance of Carbon and Stainless Steel Reinforcing Bars

Steel corrosion is a predominant factor leading to age-related structural degradation. To understand the different effects of pitting corrosion on the mechanical performances of deformed carbon and stainless steel reinforcing bars, an artificially accelerated method was conducted to corrode the steel bars. Using a 3D laser scanner, the three-dimensional models of corroded steel bars were reconstructed. The corrosion characterization was identified based on these 3D profiles. The results indicate that the number and the depth of corrosion pits of both types of steel increase with the increase of corrosion rate, however the pitting corrosion of stainless steel is much more obvious than the carbon steel. Axial tensile tests of corroded carbon and stainless steel bars were carried out. The tensile test results show that both the yield and ultimate loads linearly decreased with an increase of corrosion loss while the ductility decreased correspondingly. With the increase of corrosion loss, brittle fracture gradually occurred in the corroded carbon steel bars at the location of critical cross-sectional area. However, the degradation ratio of elongation of stainless steel is less than that of the carbon steel

Study of the Counter Anions in the Host-Guest Chemistry of Cucurbit[8]uril and 1-Ethyl-1′-benzyl-4,4′-bipyridinium

A series of 1-ethyl-1′-benzyl-4,4′-bipyridinium compounds with different counter anions (BEV-X2, where the X is Cl, Br, I, PF6, ClO4) were synthesized. By using of NMR, MS, electrochemistry, Na2S2O4-induced redox chemistry, and UV-Vis, the role of the different counter anions in the host-guest chemistry of cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) was studied for the first time. The result demonstrated that BEV-X2 can form a 1 : 1 host-guest complex with CB[8] in water. Theoretical calculation further suggested that the viologen region was threaded through the cavity of CB[8], while the corresponding counter anions were located outside the cavity. Some difference can be observed on UV-Vis titration and Na2S2O4-induced redox chemistry, which showed that the counter anions have some effect on the host-guest chemistry. All these provide new insights into CB[8] host-guest system

Threshold Chloride Concentration of Stainless Steels in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution

    Get PDF
To evaluate whether stainless steel can replace carbon steel as rebar in reinforced concrete structures exposed to aggressive environment, the threshold chloride concentration of carbon steel, austenitic and duplex stainless steels were experimentally studied in this paper. The solutions with pH ranging from 9.5 to 13.6 were used herein to simulate the pore liquids in both alkaline and carbonated concretes. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) tests were carried out in the solutions with chloride concentration ranging from 0 to 5.0M and at a temperature around 25°C. The activation of pitting corrosion was determined when corrosion current increased and polarization resistance decreased significantly. The test results show that the pH value has a great effect on the evolution of the film resistance, and stainless steels have much higher corrosion resistance than carbon steel subjected to chloride environments

swTVM: Exploring the Automated Compilation for Deep Learning on Sunway Architecture

The flourish of deep learning frameworks and hardware platforms has been demanding an efficient compiler that can shield the diversity in both software and hardware in order to provide application portability. Among the exiting deep learning compilers, TVM is well known for its efficiency in code generation and optimization across diverse hardware devices. In the meanwhile, the Sunway many-core processor renders itself as a competitive candidate for its attractive computational power in both scientific and deep learning applications. This paper combines the trends in these two directions. Specifically, we propose swTVM that extends the original TVM to support ahead-of-time compilation for architecture requiring cross-compilation such as Sunway. In addition, we leverage the architecture features during the compilation such as core group for massive parallelism, DMA for high bandwidth memory transfer and local device memory for data locality, in order to generate efficient code for deep learning application on Sunway. The experimental results show the ability of swTVM to automatically generate code for various deep neural network models on Sunway. The performance of automatically generated code for AlexNet and VGG-19 by swTVM achieves 6.71x and 2.45x speedup on average than hand-optimized OpenACC implementations on convolution and fully connected layers respectively. This work is the first attempt from the compiler perspective to bridge the gap of deep learning and high performance architecture particularly with productivity and efficiency in mind. We would like to open source the implementation so that more people can embrace the power of deep learning compiler and Sunway many-core processor

Glyco-modification of Protein with O-cyanate Chain-end Functionalized Glycopolymer via Isourea Bond Formation

    Get PDF
Glycoengineering aimed at addition of carbohydrates to proteins is an attractive approach to alter pharmacokinetic properties of proteins such as enhancing stability and prolonging the duration of action. We report a novel protein glyco-modification of BSA and recombinant thrombomodulin with O-cyanate chain-end functionalized glycopolymer via isourea bond formation. The protein glycoconjugates were confirmed by SDS-PAGE, western blot, and MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry. Protein C activation activity of the glyco-modified recombinant thrombomodulin was confirmed, proving no interference to activity from the glycopolymer modification. The isourea bond formation under mild conditions was demonstrated as an alternative method for protein modification with polymers
