    The purpose of this poster is to further explore the idea of a “SMART” travel app. To design an app that is self-monitoring, that could analyze data and present the best travel options for customers in terms of available providers, price and time. Not only should the app be beneficial to customers but it should also be beneficial to providers. Through a series of analysis, questionnaires and eye tracking experiments our team was able to design an app that will provide customers with the information needed to make a well-informed decision on how to travel from point A to B, while also making sure that providers get the most out of their resources

    Dr. Vincent Duffy is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University holding a joint appointment with Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Duffy focuses on human factors engineering and ergonomic design. His interest in teaching began early when he was a teaching assistant for IE 386 at Purdue University while pursuing his master’s degree. As an industrial engineering master’s non-thesis student, Duffy realized he had a natural inclination toward teaching. This motivation, along with the support and mentorship of Ferdinand Leimkuhler, the head of the department, turned him toward the fi eld of research. He rejoined Purdue as a professor and has been teaching courses related to work design and analysis for 60 semesters

    Wishbone structure for double wishbone front-independent Suspension for a military truck application is presented. At present, the vehicle is equipped with rigid axle with leaf springs. There are two aspects that dictate the design of wishbone structure, viz. the path of relative motion between the constituents of the suspension system and the forces transmitted between them. Also, enhancement of mobility was made possible by maintaining the live axle in the system. A double wishbone, double coil spring with twin damper configuration was employed for this application. MBD Analysis was carried out using MSC ADAMS.     A new species of \u3cem\u3eIsometrus\u3c/em\u3e Ehrenberg, 1828 (Scorpiones: Buthidae) from southeastern plains of Tamil Nadu, India

    We here describe a new species of Isometrus Ehrenberg, 1828 from the southeastern plains of Tamil Nadu, India, which is known only from its type locality, Chengalpattu. The new species was recovered as sister to Isometrus nakshatra based on a molecular phylogeny inferred from COI and 16S mitochondrial genes. Sequence divergence between the new species and all the Indian congeners was 12.6–15.7 % for COI and 12.2–14.4 % for 16S. The new species can also be differentiated from all the Indian congeners based on the following set of characters: surface of carapace with mixed (coarse and fine) and dense granulation; telson vesicle length to depth ratio in males 3.5–3.7; chela length to width ratio in males 5.0–5.4; metasomal length to carapace length ratio in males 8.2–8.9; coarse granulation on mesosomal tergites V and VI along the margins; lateral supramedian and ventral lateral carinae on metasomal segments II–IV moderately to weakly granular; ventral median carina of telson vesicle weakly granular; spiniform granules of promedian carina of the pedipalp patella strongly developed. This is the ninth species of Isometrus described from India and the first species from southeastern peninsular India. This discovery highlights the need for more surveys from the eastern peninsular region

    Westernization and today’s changing life style is resulting in various health problems like Inflammatory Bowel diseases, which is a common entity encountered in surgical practise. Ulcerative colitis is the most common among them. Though it is believed to have auto immune and genetic origin, today’s life style, environment, diet and stress plays an important role in aetiology. The disease is prevalent in middle aged western and northern people characterised by abdominal pain with bloody diarrhoea, weight loss, anaemia and general debility. This condition has remissions and exacerbations. One should always keep in mind that inflammatory bowel diseases can have anorectal manifestations. Diagnosis is made on the basis of symptoms, stool exam. and endoscopy. Management is symptomatic i.e. antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, multivitamins, immune suppression and if required admission, intravenous fluids. if no response colectomy. As such there is no satisfactory treatment till date, so it remains the difficult issue. Here we need to have an alternative, safe, convenient treatment. Ayurveda has an answer for such cases

Isometrus tamhini sp. n. and I. amboli sp. n. are closely related to each other and differ from two other Indian species of the genus, I. thurstoni and I. maculatus, by the morphological features and a raw genetic divergence of over 10%

It is the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit. Beauty is the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, colour, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else. It pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. Beauty of person gives perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction. According to Ayurveda, the concept of beauty includes physical, mental, social and spiritual elements. Ayurveda is the science of health care and healing, works on four levels body, Breath, mind and spirit. When these are in perfect harmony, a person radiates with inner and outer beauty. In fact, the concept of beauty and cosmetics is as old as mankind and civilization. Ama (toxic materials) inside our body make a person ugly and diseased and Sodhana i.e. Panchakarma (purification) is the best therapeutic intervention to eliminate body toxins. Being Ayurveda as a life science and tradition of India, soon India will be the global cosmetic industry’s capital because of advantages of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic medicines

    Four new lithophilic species of \u3cem\u3eScorpiops\u3c/em\u3e Peters, 1861 (Scorpiones: Scorpiopidae) from peninsular India

    Four new lithophilic species of Scorpiops Peters, 1861 (Scorpiopidae) have been described from peninsular India using an integrated taxonomic approach. Three species Scorpiops vrushchik sp. n., S. nagphani sp. n. and S. neera sp. n. have been described from northern Western Ghats and S. lioneli sp. n. is described from Deccan Plateau. S. vrushchik sp. n. is closely related to S. tenuicauda and S. telbaila and differs by a raw genetic divergence of 9.6-9.8% from S. tenuicauda and 11% from S. telbaila. S. nagphani sp. n. is closely related to S. lioneli sp. n. and S. maharashtraensis and differs by a raw genetic divergence of 6.7% from S. lioneli sp. n. and 9.6% from S. maharashtraensis. S. neera sp. n. is closely related to S. deccanensis, S. satarensis and S. phaltanensis and differs by a raw genetic divergence of 6.1–7.1% from S. deccanensis, 7.3% from S. satarensis and 9.6–9.8% from S. phaltanensis. S. lioneli sp. n. is closely related to S. nagphani sp. n. and S. maharashtraensis and differs by a raw genetic divergence of 6.7% from S. nagphani sp. n. and 11% from S. maharashtraensis. Hemispermatophore morphology of all the new species is described with photographs. A taxonomic key to all species of Scorpiops from peninsular India is provided. This study elevates the number of species of Scorpiops found in India to 27, out of which 11 are found in peninsular India
