Application of the Central-Difference with Half-Sweep Gauss-Seidel Method for Solving First Order Linear Fredholm Integro-Differential Equations

    Get PDF
The objective of this paper is to analyse the application of the Half-Sweep Gauss-Seidel (HSGS) method by using the Half-sweep approximation equation based on central difference (CD) and repeated trapezoidal (RT) formulas to solve linear fredholm integro-differential equations of first order. The formulation and implementation of the Full-Sweep Gauss-Seidel (FSGS) and Half- Sweep Gauss-Seidel (HSGS) methods are also presented. The HSGS method has been shown to rapid compared to the FSGS methods. Some numerical tests were illustrated to show that the HSGS method is superior to the FSGS method

Convective and radiative heat transfer in a high-swirl direct-injection diesel engine

    Get PDF
The investigation described in this thesis is a study of instantaneous heat fluxes (total and radiative) and their variation with operating conditions in a high-swirl direct-injection diesel engine. The problem is approached experimentally and methods for prediction of convective and radiative components are suggested. Total heat fluxes were measured using a thin-film type thermocouple developed in the course of the work, while the radiant flux was measured by a pyroelectric infrared detector. The experimental observations demonstrate variations in local heat fluxes which are moderate under motored conditions but large in the fired engine. Some of the observed features of flux variation with time and with location have been shown to be qualitatively explicable in terms of probable local events during the cycle. [Continues.

THE ROLE OF BRAND LOVE AS MEDIATION FACTOR TOWARD CUSTOMER LOYALTY

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to explain the effect either directly or indirectly directly from the brand love mediation variables on the relationship of brand trust variables consisting of Brand Excellence, Brand Strength and Brand Uniqueness on Brand Loyalty to Car customers in Aceh. Method data collection used is to spread the questionnaire to as many as 400 respondents, with sampling technique that is Purposive Random Sampling Based on result of data analysis, hence can be concluded that variable of brand image proved to have partially and simultaneous, positive and significant influence to brand love. This condition means that the better image of mrek will affect the increasing of brand love to car customers in Aceh. Keywords: Brand Image, Brand Love, Brand loyalt

Newton-sor iterative method for solving the two-dimensional porous medium equation

    Get PDF
In this paper, we consider the application of the Newton-SOR iterative method in obtainingthe approximate solution of the two-dimensional porous medium equation (2D PME). Thenonlinear finite difference approximation equation to the 2D PME is derived by using theimplicit finite difference scheme. The developed nonlinear system is linearized by using theNewton method. At each temporal step, the corresponding linear systems are solved by usingSOR iteration. We investigate the efficiency of the Newton-SOR iterative method by solvingthree examples of 2D PME and the performance is compared with the Newton-GS iterativemethod. Numerical results show that the Newton-SOR iterative method is better than theNewton-GS iterative method in terms of a number of iterations, computer time and maximum absolute errors. Keywords: porous medium equation; finite difference scheme; Newton; Successive OverRelaxation, Gauss-Seidel

Infectious Bronchitis Vaccination Protocols for Laying Hens

    Get PDF
A research was conducted to investigate the effects of vaccination protocols for Infectious Bronchitis (IB) on egg production, egg quality, and IB antibody titres of laying hens. Different initial vaccination (Control, VicS eye, VicS spray, VicS water, A3 eye, A3 spray, and A3 water) for IB were administered to day-old Isa Brown hens.  Half the hens were revaccinated regularly during lay whereas the other hens were not vaccinated. Results showed that initial vaccination treatment had significant effects on hen day egg production and egg quality of egg weight, shell reflectivity, shell breaking strength, shell thickness, albumen height, Haugh Units, and IB antibody titre levels, but had no effect on percentage of shell and yolk colour. Egg weight and shell reflectivity were less favourable in the control hens.  In contrast, shell breaking strength and shell thickness were highest for the group that initially received A3 vaccine in water. However, regular revaccination had some deleterious effects on egg production and egg quality. There were no significant effects of revaccination on IB antibody titres. It is concluded that there was little advantage in regularly revaccinating laying hens for IB virus, since they had received appropriate initial vaccination.

NEUCOMP2 - parallel neural network compiler

    Get PDF
A parallel neural network compiler (NEUCOMP2) for a shared-memory parallel machine has been implemented by introducing parallelism in NEUCOMP. The parallel routine detects the program loops of the sequential version generated by NEUCOMP, undergoing analysis of the data dependences and transforms it into a parallel version. Experiments were carried out to study the performance of the NEUCOMP2 programs for the backpropagation network. NEUCOMP2 was developed and run on the Sequent Balance 8000 computer system at Parallel Algorithm Research Centre, U.K
