Fast Color Removal Method Considering Differences between Colors

    Get PDF
When a color image is converted into a monochrome one, luminance components of the pixels have been used as gray-levels for the representation of the monochrome image in HDTV standard. However, saliencies of the image embedded only in the chrominance components are disappeared in the monochrome image converted by using luminance components. To cope with this problem, A.A. Gooch et al. have proposed the salience-preserving color removal method called “Color2Gray.” The monochrome image well reected the impression of an input color image can be yielded by Color2Gray. However, the calculation cost of that algorithm is tremendous, and its utility is not so much. In this paper, fast Color2Gray algorithms are proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through the experiments

AbstractThe study of blocking semiovals in finite projective planes was motivated by Batten in connection with cryptography and was begun by Dover . In this note, two new families of blocking semiovals are constructed in desarguesian planes

AbstractThe study of blocking semiovals in finite projective planes was motivated by Batten in connection with cryptography. Dover in studied blocking semiovals in a finite projective plane of order q which meet some line inq− 1 points. In this note, some blocking semiovals in PG(2, q) are considered which admit a homology group, and three new families of blocking semiovals are constructed. Any blocking semioval in the first or the third family meets no line in q− 1 points

AbstractA (u,k;λ)-difference matrix H over a group U is said to be of coset type with respect to one of its rows, say w, whose entries are not equal, if it has the property that rw is also a row of H for any row r of H. In this article we study the structural property of such matrices with u(<k) a prime and show that u|λ and, moreover, H contains u (u,k/u;λ/u)-difference submatrices and is equivalent to a special kind of extension using them. Conversely, we also show that any set of u (u,k′;λ′)-difference matrices over U yields a (u,uk′;uλ′)-difference matrix of coset type over U
