Kilka uwag o specyfice pojęcia narodu i mniejszości narodowej w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej
Some Remarks on a Peculiarity of the Concepts of Nation and National Minorities in East-Central EuropeThe paper presents a short comparative analysis of the concepts of nation and national minority which appear in Western and Eastern parts of Europe. The Western, political concept of nation was contrasted with the Eastern idea of nation as a cultural entity. Causes of this dissimilarity are related to different social and political history of the both parts of the Continent. The differences, in the case of Western Europe, led to a phenomenon of overlapping of the Zeszyty Naukowe Instytutu Spraw Publicznych Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskieg
Deterioration and renovation of the cultural built-up environment: the case of Cracovie In Cracovie, the cultural built-up environment is drastically deteriorated. Three main causes can be incriminated: the wild industrial development based on outdated technologies ; the excessive extension of the agglomeration designed without functional planning ; and the long-time lack of restoration and preservation works. Nowadays, deterioration keeps going on, and restoration is still very limited due to a wide range of financial, political and technological constrains
Społeczeństwo obywatelskie a polityka - uwagi o historycznych uwarunkowaniach i perspektywach społeczeństwa obywatelskiego w Polsce
roli. Znacznie więcej uwagi poświęcili mu filozofowie społeczni XVIII i XIX
stulecia, zwłaszcza brytyjscy i niemieccy, zajmujący się problematyką rozwoju społecznego.
Żywo dyskutowane, ale niejednoznacznie rozumiane, straciło z czasem
swój poznawczy i teoretyczny appeal. Obecnie obserwujemy jednak renesans tego
pojęcia, związany m.in. z przemianami ustrojowymi w krajach Europy Środkowowschodniej,
w tym w Polsce."(...
Struktura społeczna uniwersytetu. Wspólnota i hierarchia
społeczeństw europejskich, należy do najbardziej złożonych tworów społecznych.
Tożsamość Europy a jej wewnętrzne granice
Uczeni i publicyści
chętnie zresztą mówią o różnych granicach Europy: geograficznych, politycznych,
kulturowych, ekonomicznych itd. (z reguły chodzi o jej granicę wschodnią,
oddzielającą Europę od Azji; znacznie rzadziej o południową)."(...
Obywatel w państwie. Kilka uwag o typach ładu zbiorowego i społeczeństwie polskim
In the paper the author singles out three types of social order, that is the way of
a social organization from the political power point of view: 1) religious order, 2) masterful
order, and 3) civil order. The basic form of the social order is the state. According to
the author the main difference between, from one had, the first two types, and the third
from the other, lies in different political relation between the government and the rank and
fi le members of the state. In the case of the fi rst two types – religious and masterful – all
members, “citizens”, are subject to the state, whereas in the case of civil order – the state
is subject to its citizens. Poland after demise of communism has developed apparently
a civil state, but Polish civil society has been still rather weak. The author of the essay is
searching for the roots of this weakness in the Polish history

Association as a Type of Social Group
