The article aimed to analyze the literature published in the format of scientific articles about the inclusion of transvestites and transsexual in the context of education in Brazil. We identified the descriptors "Education", “Transvestites" and "Transsexuals" in the Virtual Health Library (Dec’s BVS) and collected, in the Periódicos Capes plataform, 232 articles, of which 19 met the inclusion/exclusion criteria, which were analyzed descriptively by pairs, through a literature review protocol elaborated by the authors. As results, eight articles composed the final sample that discuss the inclusion of these subjects from two aspects: Transsexual/ transvestite students transsexual/transvestite teachers. It was noticed that the educational spaces, especially the school, are one of the most hostile spaces for those who break with the norms of gender, being not prepared (and even not being interested) in working the true inclusion of these people

Mining Induced Ground Motions in a Tailings Dam

Mining induced seismicity can expose tailings dams to ground motions with potential to trigger a failure, if the structure reaches a certain level of vibrations that could exceed the seismic coefficient design criteria from pseudostatic analysis. Despite the cited risk, mainly for dams that are closer to open pits, few dams in Brazil are monitored by microseismic systems, and there are no references in the literature about continuous seismic monitoring both in open pit (source) and tailings dam, which represents the motivation of this paper. A microseismic system was commissioned in Cajati Mine, São Paulo, to record seismic events continuously in an array of 16 geophones (14 Hz and 4.5 Hz), installed in boreholes near the open pit (12 sensors) and in the dam (4 sensors), has measured values of PGA (Peak Ground Acceleration) and PGV (Peak Ground Velocity) related to 2,972 induced events from rock removal in the open pit. During the period monitored, the total of 109 events have triggered sensors in both structures, producing 920 seismograms, with the highest values of PGA and PGV of 0.0135 m/s2 (0.1358% of g) and 0.0892 mm/s. The highest PGA value is 36 times lower than the vertical coefficient of 3% of g defined by Brazilian technical standard to dam design criteria, normally used in common pseudostatic analysis from geotechnical engineers. A routine microseismic monitoring brings a new set of valuable actionable data and information to support the management of geotechnical tailings dams’ risks, under the conditions of vibrations induced by mining production

Through the journey of the plurality of feminisms, we find ourselves today in the fourth wave, in which cyberactivism predominates, with feminist articulations going through the street/network axis. Thus, we sought to consolidate the arguments in defense of feminism from the analysis of the opposite reactions found online. The locus was the cyberspace itself, where comments were found in web news posts that contained controversial contents linked to themes worked out by feminism in their plurality. The qualitative approach was defined based on non-participant systematic observation and content analysis. Nine categories were extracted, including blaming the victim of violence, discrediting female accusations of violence, stigma of prostitution, social concept of Marianism, objectification of the female body, myth of female hysteria, myth of maternal love, sexual and reproductive rights, demerit the relevance of female representativeness, among other subjects. It has been found that chauvinism and misogyny are social reproductions engendered regardless of gender; whereas the demands on female behavior are mostly associated with an accusatory tone, with responsibilities reversed; that there is still the view that women do not have emancipatory capacity to achieve their successes and that, thus, they must take hold of what man has achieved from his privileges; that sexist attitudes are detrimental to society as a whole and not only to women and; Thus, most of society still does not understand the relevance of female representativeness in the various spaces

The present study aimed to compare soleus, lateral, and medial gastrocnemius muscles activation during leg press and calf raise exercises in trained men. The study involved 22 trained men (27.1 ± 3.6 years, 82.7 ± 6.6 kg, 177.5 ± 5.2 cm, 3.6 ± 1.4 experience years) who performed one set of each exercise using a 10-repetition maximum (10RM) load in a counterbalanced randomized order and separated by 10 min of rest. The electromyographic signal was measured for the three major plantar flexors: soleus, medial, and lateral gastrocnemius. A comparison between exercises showed that the mean adjusted by peak values during the leg press were 49.20% for the gastrocnemius lateralis, 51.31% for the gastrocnemius medialis, and 50.76% for the soleus. Values for calf raise were 50.70%, 52.19%, and 51.34% for the lateral, medial gastrocnemius, and soleus, respectively. There were no significant differences between exercises for any muscle (lateral gastrocnemius (p = 0.230), medial gastrocnemius (p = 0.668), and soleus (p = 0.535)). The present findings suggest that both leg press and calf raises can be used with the purpose to recruit triceps surae muscles. This bring the suggestion that one can chose between exercises based on personal preferences and practical aspects, without any negative impact on muscle activation

For many years, two-dimensional (2D) cell culture has been used as a model to study diseases, having great importance in regenerative medicine, despite still having significant limitations. In order to circumvent these limitations, threedimensional (3D) cell culture proposes a more complex and sustainable organization that can be produced from adult stem cells (ASCs), embryonic stem cells (ESCs) or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The 3D culture enabledthe cultivation of cells in an environment closer to the physiological one, leading to the formation of different organspecific tissues. In other words, 3D cell culture makes it possible to create organic structures very similar to the organs of a human being, both structurally and functionally. In this way, we have what are called organoids. The use of organoids has grown exponentially in in vitro environments, allowing the analysis and observation of the various existing physiological phenomena. As an example, we can mention the brain organoids (“mini-brains”) reproduced in vitro, seeking to delineate the peculiarities and complexities of the human brain, in order to understand some neurological dysfunctions that affect this system, such as the two main neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases. Therefore, brain organoids may allow a remarkable advance in regenerative medicine applied to neurodegenerative diseases, as these “mini-brains” can be produced from the patient’s own cells. This will allow for personalized interventions, such as drug testing, in order to define what would be the best drug treatment. Consequently, this technology can enable more efficient and individualized therapies - which is fundamental for Personalized Medicine

Trigona spinipes (Dog bee) attack the apical bud of Khaya ivorensis causing atrophy and budding which provoke branches that will depreciate the shaft if not handled. Damage to the culture of K. ivorensis has been reported for Brazil, but never before for the Brazilian savannah. The aim of this study was to survey the dog bee attack and report as first record the presence and damage caused in the African mahogany plantations in the Brazilian savannah. The area has about of 16.6 hectares of African mahogany monoculture in the municipality of Piracanjuba, Goiás. It has been used 21 plots of 400 m², pre-defined and simple random sampling method, in which was carried out forest inventory and observation sprouts the apical part of the stem and consequent artificial pruning of sprouts. Also performing were viewed bees in foraging of activity by cutting the shoots of K. ivorensis. In planting, 6.14% of the trees had regrowth and this percentage may indicate the number of attacked trees. The total trees with regrowth is a large quantity of trees which may develop with problems, generating more than one stem or branch, thereby preclude the affected wood is used for furniture. &nbsp
