In the long term, the innovative development strategy efficiency is considered as the most crucial condition for assurance of economic system competitiveness in market conditions. It determines the problem relevance of such justification strategies with regard to specific systems features and conditions of their operation. The problem solution for industrial enterprises can be based on mathematical models of supporting the decision-making on the elements of the innovative manufacturing program. An optimization model and the planning method of innovative products volume and variety are suggested. The feature of the suggested model lies in the nonlinear nature of the objective function. It allows taking into consideration the law of diminishing marginal utility. The suggested method of optimization takes into account the system features and enables the effective implementation of manufacturing capabilities in modern conditions of production organization and sales in terms of market saturation

Nowadays thermography technique is widely used in clinical and diagnostic procedures. Thermal “portrait” fixed by infra-red thermotracer in rest conditions is characterized by mosaic temperature distribution on skin surface and large individual differences in this pattern. We obtained significant correlations between maximal and average temperature on sportsmen upper body part and important indexes of aerobic capacity – VO2max and anaerobic threshold. We suggest mechanisms responsible for its formation and also propose hypothesis assuming possible role of brown adipose tissue influence on thermal “portrait” forming

An algorithm of the wildfire classification by its acoustic emission spectrum using Wireless Sensor Networks

Crown fires are extremely dangerous as the speed of their distribution is dozen times higher compared to surface fires. Therefore, it is important to classify the fire type as early as possible. A method for forest fires classification exploits their computed acoustic emission spectrum compared with a set of samples of the typical fire acoustic emission spectrum stored in the database. This method implies acquisition acoustic data using Wireless Sensors Networks (WSNs) and their analysis in a central processing and a control center. The paper deals with an algorithm which can be directly implemented on a sensor network node that will allow reducing considerably the network traffic and increasing its efficiency. It is hereby suggested to use the sum of the squares ratio, with regard to amplitudes of low and high frequencies of the wildfire acoustic emission spectrum, as the indicator of a forest fire type. It is shown that the value of the crown fires indicator is several times higher than that of the surface ones. This allows classifying the fire types (crown, surface) in a short time interval and transmitting a fire type indicator code alongside with an alarm signal through the network

The purpose of the study was to search for the relationship of Pulse Debt Accumulation Intensity (PDАI) with the rate of formation of oxygen demand and the accumulation of lactate in the blood during the performance of limiting cyclic exercises of various durations. Methods: 14 athletes‑cyclists (1st category, 20 ± 3 years, MОC — 52.9 ± 5.10 ml / min / kg), performed a series of bicycle ergometric exercises of maximum power on different days at a fixed duration of 10, 30, 60, 120, 360 and 1800 s. Based on the pulse sums of the five‑minute recovery (minus the pre‑start HR level) and the exercise time, the intensity of accumulation of pulse debt was calculated for all exercises in each subject. The rate of accumulation of lactate concentration in the blood (SNCL) and the rate of formation of oxygen demand (OCR) were also calculated. Results: SOCS, SNCL and PDАI have a close non‑linear relationship with exercise time (respectively: r2 = 0.84, r2 = 0.91, r2 = 0.96, at p < 0.05), as well as with relative exercise power (respectively: r2 = 0.80, r2 = 0.86, r2 = 0.90, at p < 0.05). INPD has a close relationship with SRCS and SNCL (respectively: r2 = 0.80, r2 = 0.94, p < 0.05).Conclusions: The results of the study make it possible to use the INPD heart rate indicator for a fairly reliable determination of exercise intensity and for predicting the level of lactate accumulation, and on this basis, determining the direction of the exercise and normalizing the training load

PURPOSE: To determine bioactivity and duration of effect of intravitreal aflibercept injection (also known as vascular endothelial growth factor Trap-Eye) for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). METHODS: In this double-masked, phase 1 study, 28 patients with lesions ≤12 disc areas, ≥50% active choroidal neovascularization (CNV), and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) ≤20/40 were randomized 1:1 to a single intravitreal injection of aflibercept 0.15 or 4 mg. The primary end point was the change from baseline in central retinal/lesion thickness (CR/LT) at week-8. Secondary outcomes were the change from baseline BCVA, the change in CNV lesion size and area of leakage, and proportion of patients requiring repeat injection at 8 weeks. RESULTS: Mean percent decrease in CR/LT for the 4-mg and 0.15-mg groups was, respectively, 34.2 versus 13.3 at week 4 (P=0.0065), 23.8 versus 5.9 at week 6 (P=0.0380), and 25.2% versus 11.3% at week 8 (P=0.150). The 4-mg group gained a mean of 4.5 letters in BCVA (6/14 patients gaining ≥10 letters) versus 1.1 letters in 0.15-mg group (1/14 gaining ≥10 letters) at week 8. Fewer patients needed retreatment in the 4-mg group at week 8. No serious adverse event or ocular inflammation was reported in either group. CONCLUSIONS: Intravitreal aflibercept 4 mg had a safety profile similar to that of the very low dose 0.15 mg, and was well-tolerated. The 4-mg dose significantly reduced foveal thickening at weeks 4 and 6, significantly improved BCVA at weeks 6, and reduced the need for repeat injection after 8 weeks compared with intravitreal aflibercept 0.15 mg in neovascular AMD patients

The article discusses the concept of constructing a repository of data on travel routes for the intellectual transport system of the city. The mathematical apparatus of a formalized description of a transport system based on a hypernet, whose arcs are paths of movement, is given. A recursive algorithm for obtaining data on paths of movement, as well as a mechanism for using adjacency matrices for route connections, is considered. Research is carried out as part of the project AR05133699 “Research and development of innovative telecommunication technologies using modern cyber-technical means for the intellectual transport system of the city”

Genetic Mechanisms in Apc-Mediated Mammary Tumorigenesis

Many components of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway also play critical roles in mammary tumor development, yet the role of the tumor suppressor gene APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) in breast oncongenesis is unclear. To better understand the role of Apc in mammary tumorigenesis, we introduced conditional Apc mutations specifically into two different mammary epithelial populations using K14-cre and WAP-cre transgenic mice that express Cre-recombinase in mammary progenitor cells and lactating luminal cells, respectively. Only the K14-cre–mediated Apc heterozygosity developed mammary adenocarcinomas demonstrating histological heterogeneity, suggesting the multilineage progenitor cell origin of these tumors. These tumors harbored truncation mutation in a defined region in the remaining wild-type allele of Apc that would retain some down-regulating activity of β-catenin signaling. Activating mutations at codons 12 and 61 of either H-Ras or K-Ras were also found in a subset of these tumors. Expression profiles of acinar-type mammary tumors from K14-cre; ApcCKO/+ mice showed luminal epithelial gene expression pattern, and clustering analysis demonstrated more correlation to MMTV-neu model than to MMTV-Wnt1. In contrast, neither WAP-cre–induced Apc heterozygous nor homozygous mutations resulted in predisposition to mammary tumorigenesis, although WAP-cre–mediated Apc deficiency resulted in severe squamous metaplasia of mammary glands. Collectively, our results suggest that not only the epithelial origin but also a certain Apc mutations are selected to achieve a specific level of β-catenin signaling optimal for mammary tumor development and explain partially the colon- but not mammary-specific tumor development in patients that carry germline mutations in APC
