Google Classroom in Graduate Education: Its Effectiveness and Challenges in An Island University in The Central Philippines
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness and challenges in the use of google classroom in Graduate Education at Guimaras State University, an island university in the Central Philippines, for Academic Year 2022-2023. A descriptive research design was used in this study utilizing 330 respondents who were purposively chosen through convenience sampling technique. A researcher-made questionnaire was employed in gathering the data needed. Frequency count, percentage ranking, mean, Mann Whitney U-test, Kruskal Wallis H-test, Chi-square and Spearman’s rho were the statistical tools used and the level of significance was set at .05. It was found out that the use of google classroom in Graduate Education at Guimaras State University was at very high level of effectiveness as assessed by the respondents as a whole and when classified according to age, civil status, course, type of program and status of employment; the graduate students considered the use of google classroom challenging due to lack of high speed internet in the island province; the respondents had varying assessment on the level of effectiveness in the use of google classroom when they were classified according to civil status, course and type of program but similar when they were classified according to age and status of employment. The respondents encountered different challenges when they were classified in terms of their age, course and type of program and encountered similar challenges in the use of google classroom in their graduate studies when they were classified according to their civil status and status of employment; and the effectiveness and challenges in the use of google classroom in the Graduate Education were not significantly related
Interdisciplinarity in the Philippine Academia: Theory, History, and Challenges
Forum Kritika on Interdisciplinarity in the Philippine Academia discusses the history of how universities and academics construct their respective notions of disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity. Our decision to engage with this development in tertiary education takes off from a historical phase in our educational system. Questions on the character of disciplines have heightened in the last half-century, and this phenomenon does not only emerge out of the critical practice of the people who are part of universities, but the external world of the universities have started to knock on the university doors. Informed by the present situation of our universities and the educational system at large, we both argue that both disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity are modern constructs that should be understood by elucidating dialectics of theoretical and historical underpinnings. The tandem of history and theory provides the frames for us to better see the challenges when universities implement such paradigm, and this forum hopes to shed some light to our fellow academics as the Philippines undergo crucial changes, revamps, and overhauls in our educational system

El trabajo que se presenta a continuación constituye un ejercicio de problematización conceptual a partir del cual se plantea la importancia de pensar a la teoría pedagógica como configuración, así como las implicaciones que esto tiene en sus usos y las mediaciones que se despliegan en este proceso. Como tal, plantea exigencias específicas relacionadas con el sentido que tiene dicha construcción para pensar el momento histórico que estamos viviendo y el papel del conocimiento en este contexto. Esta cuestión adquiere una dimensión central en ámbitos que, como el educativo, se han caracterizado por la incorporación de esquemas de explicación que reducen la complejidad del fenómeno a aspectos de carácter económico, político, social, ideológico, cultural o psicológico, sin reconocer su especificidad histórica, teórica y epistemológica.The following research constitutes an exercise of conceptual problematization from which the importance of the configuration of pedagogical theory is presented, as well as the implication that this has in its uses and mediations that unfold in this process. As such it lays out specific requests or demands related to the meaning that such construct has so as to think about the historical moment we are living and the role of knowledge in this context. relat?rios de invent?rios florestais de florestas naturais. O App Cubagem foi desenvolvido com
o foco em c?lculos de volume de ?rvores cubadas utilizando os m?todos de Smalian ou Huber,
realizar an?lises descritivas e ajustar modelos volum?tricos utilizando estes dados. O web app
App Invent?rio Florestal foi desenvolvido com enfoque em florestas equi?neas, e pode estimar
a altura de ?rvores n?o medidas, volume de ?rvores inserindo os coeficientes de um dos modelos
dispon?veis, realizar uma an?lise descritiva dos dados e fazer estimativas de amostragem.
Concluiu-se que os web apps foram desenvolvidos com sucesso, e podem ser acessados

inventory data from even-aged and uneven-aged forests using R language in an online platform.
The web apps were developed in the Laborat?rio de Mensura??o e Manejo, at the Federal
University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys ? UFVJM, Campus JK, Diamantina/MG
Rodovia MGT 367 ? Km 583, n? 5000. The apps were hosted using Amazon Web Services
EC2. The Operating System used was Ubuntu Server 16.04. Three apps were developed. The
web app App Invent?rio de Nativas was developed with focus on uneven-aged forests, aiming
to provide most variables, indexes and graphics used in reports of inventories of natural forests
The web app App Cubagem was developed with focus on tree volume measurements and
estimation using Smalian or Huber?s method and volumetric models, and descriptive analysis
of data. With web app App Invent?rio Florestal we aimed to allow the user to estimate the
height of non-measured trees, estimate the volume of trees using coefficients of one of the
available models, make a descriptive analysis of their data, and make sampling estimates of
inventory data of even-aged forests. We concluded that the web apps were developed
successfully, and can be accessed remotely by a web browser

El cáncer colorrectal es una patología que está en auge desde hace unos años y que, según pronósticos basados en estudios recientes, continuará aumentando con el tiempo. Esta patología puede ser genética o causada por cambios en el estilo de vida saludable y, debido al aumento de prevalencia, se ha visto la necesidad de encontrar otras alternativas terapéuticas que sean más eficaces en estadios más avanzados de la enfermedad. Estos nuevos fármacos pretenden, a grandes rasgos, disminuir el número de recidivas y aumentar el tiempo de supervivencia libre de progresión en estados muy avanzados de la enfermedad; se presentan así terapias que se emplean tras el fracaso de todas las anteriores
Políticas y reformas educativas en México: tensiones y articulaciones
This article aims to locate some of the organizing principles that have been derived from the first phase of the research project “Policies and educational reforms in the recent history of Mexico, in Latin American context: tensions, forms of articulation and pedagogical alternatives”, which is being carried out at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM with the support from the General Direction of Academic Staff Affairs in coordination with the program on Alternativas Pedagógicas and Prospectiva Educativa en América Latina (APPeAL). We contextualize some of the arguments developed by the academic members of the research team in Mexico from the various lines of inquiry that were defined as a basis for addressing the issue, and that play out in this study as snapshots of our current analysis. Three of these lines of thought are presented, which focus on historical-genealogical dimensions, and on teachers, evaluation and indigenous education as part of some of the processes that have marked the process of educational reform in our country, particularly under the proposal made by the government of Enrique Peña Nieto.Este artículo tiene como objetivo situar algunos de los referentes ordenadores que han derivado de la primera fase de desarrollo del proyecto de investigación “Políticas y reformas educativas en la historia reciente de México en el contexto latinoamericano: tensiones, formas de articulación y alternativas pedagógicas”, que se realiza en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM con el apoyo de la Dirección General de Asuntos del Personal Académico en coordinación con el programa Alternativas Pedagógicas y Prospectiva Educativa en América Latina (APPeAL), así como contextualizar parte de las elaboraciones que los académicos integrantes del equipo de investigación de México hemos desarrollado a partir de las diversas líneas de indagación que se definieron como base para el abordaje del tema, y que juegan en este estudio como recortes de observación. En este trabajo se presentan tres de dichas líneas en las cuales se centra la atención en la dimensión histórico-genealógica, los docentes, la evaluación y la educación indígena como parte de algunos de los procesos que han marcado el proceso de reforma educativa en nuestro país, particularmente a partir de la propuesta hecha por el gobierno de Enrique Peña Nieto
Estrés laboral y desempeño de los asesores de banca por teléfono del Banco de Crédito del Perú, distrito de La Esperanza - año 2015
El presente trabajo se ha realizado con el propósito de determinar la relación entre el nivel de estrés laboral y el desempeño de los asesores de banca por teléfono que laboran en el centro de contacto BCP-Sede La Esperanza. Se utilizó el diseño descriptivo correlacional empleando la técnica de encuesta para la recopilación de datos, validado por juicio de expertos. Se consideró como población objeto de estudio a los asesores actuales del centro de Contacto BCP-Sede La Esperanza, conformada por un total de 175 personas, para determinar el tamaño de la muestra se utilizó el muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple con un margen de confianza del 95% y un margen error de 5% considerando una muestra de 121 asesores. Entre los resultados más relevantes se establece que existe una relación inversamente significativa entre el nivel de estrés y el desempeño laboral lo que implica que existe un alto nivel de estrés laboral lo que repercute en un deficiente desempeño laboral. Los factores que influyen en el alto nivel de estrés son la sobrecarga de trabajo, deficiente comunicación entre Jefe-subordinado y trato hostil entre los asesores. Frente a esta situación se sugiere implementar estrategias tales como Trabajo en equipo, mejor relacionamiento entre asesores, escuchar a los asesores frente a dificultades y problemas en el Centro de Contacto de Banca por teléfono BCP. Así como fortalecer de manera permanente los lazos de integración e identificación del centro de contacto con sus colaboradores.This work was carried out in order to determine the relationship between the level of work
stress and the performance of telephone banking advisors working in the contact center
BCP-See La Esperanza. Descriptive correlational design was used using the survey
technique for data collection, validated by expert judgment. It was considered as target
population to existing advisers center Contact BCP-See La Esperanza, comprising a total
of 175 people, To determine the sample size simple random probability sampling was used
with a margin of confidence 95% and an error margin of 5% considering a sample of 121
advisers.Among the most important results it is established that there is an inverse
relationship between the level of stress and job performance which implies that there is a
high level of job stress which results in poor job performance.The factors influencing the
high level of stress are heavy workloads, poor communication between boss-subordinate
and hostile treatment of advisors. Faced with this situation it suggests implementing
strategies such as Teamwork better relationship between consultants, listening to advisors
face difficulties and problems in the contact center phone Banking BCP. And permanently
strengthen the bonds of integration and identification of contact center colleagues.Tesi
