Strain Rate Contribution due to Dynamic Recovery of Ultrafine-Grained Cu−Zr as Evidenced by Load Reductions during Quasi-Stationary Deformation at 0.5 Tm
During quasi-stationary tensile deformation of ultrafine-grained Cu-0.2 mass%Zr at 673 K and a deformation rate of about 10−4 s−1 load changes were performed. Reductions of relative load by more than about 25% initiate anelastic back flow. Subsequently, the creep rate turns positive again and goes through a relative maximum. This is interpreted by a strain rate component ϵ˙− associated with dynamic recovery of dislocations. Back extrapolation indicates that ϵ˙− contributes the same fraction of (20±10)% to the quasi-stationary strain rate that has been reported for coarse-grained materials with high fraction of low-angle boundaries; this suggests that dynamic recovery of dislocations is generally mediated by boundaries. The influence of anelastic back flow on ϵ˙− is discussed. Comparison of ϵ˙− to the quasi-stationary rate points to enhancement of dynamic recovery by internal stresses. Subtraction of ϵ˙− from the total rate yields the rate component ϵ˙+ related with generation and storage of dislocations; its activation volume is in the order expected from the classical theory of thermal glide
Damage and fracture in creep of a cladding alloy Zr1%Nb of the VVER reactor-type
Zirkoniová povlaková slitina Zr1%Nb (modifikace slitiny E 110) je používána k pokrytí
paliva v reaktorech typu VVER.
coolant accident).A sponge-based Zr1%Nb cladding alloy (modified E110 alloy) is used as a fuel cladding
material in the VVER-type reactors. Despite of sufficient creep data describing deformation
processes in thermal creep of the alloy available in the open literature, we are still some distance
from a complete understanding of damage development and fracture. This work aims to describe fracture processes of Zr1%Nb alloy in exponential (power-law breakdown region) creep
at service temperature and under condition simulating to some extent reactor accident, such as
the LOCA (loss of coolant accident)
Detection of defects by acoustic emissions (AE) under high-temperature creep conditions

prediction and identification of material defects to avoid a disaster of running equipment. The
paper analyzes the measured data and analysis of signals at the level of individual emission
events during the creep test of a copper based on the results of previously performed microstructural and fractographic analyses of its creep damage evolution and fracture. The aim of the
model study is to contribute to the successful application of AE for real operating components
of power equipments and thus to increase their operational safety
Applicability of empirical formulas for prediction of creep behaviour and lifetime of high-temperature materials
a hlubší interpretaci.
Creep lifetime predictions of high temperature structural materials loading at high temperatures, based on the knowledge of their creep behaviour, coming out of the results of creep testing. However, creep testing is very time consuming and expensive. That is why those various
methodological procedures based on physically verified empirical relationships have been proposed to shorten creep testing and deeper understanding of the results. The present study is
especially focused on an experimental correlation between creep plasticity and creep rate sensitivity to stress. The application of such approach is demonstrated on service exposed low alloy

Creep damage assessment study of steels for energy facilities
chování těchto ocelí v provozu, existují způsoby hodnocení pevnosti při tečení a degradace využívající různé druhy diagnostických technik umožňující vysoce přesné metody předpovídání
TK03020089 – THÉTA a projektu č. TN1000015 NCK Strojírenství.To ensure the long-term safe use of creep-resistant steels at elevated operating temperatures,
basic creep strength studies and degradation assessments are essential. Although there is still
a lack of systematically obtained reliable data on the creep behaviour of these steels in operation, there are methods for assessing creep and degradation strength using various types of
diagnostic techniques to allow highly accurate methods of predicting creep-resisting behaviour.
This paper deals with one of them, namely the investigation of creep behaviour and the development of damage of the operated steam pipeline steel various degrees of degradation using an
advanced acoustic emission detection method
