    Development Of Body Lotion From Ethanol Extract Of Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthoriza Roxb) As Antioxidant

    Kulit, sebagai bagian terluar dari tubuh dan penjaga utama dari radikal bebas, dapat dilindungi oleh senyawa antioksidan. Lotion tubuh adalah produk kosmetik yang dioleskan pada kulit luar untuk meningkatkan daya tarik. Temulawak (Curcuma xanthoriza Roxb) mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan, mencegah kerusakan kulit akibat radikal bebas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan bahwa lotion tubuh yang mengandung temulawak dapat memiliki sifat antioksidan. Penelitian ini meliputi persiapan bahan simplisia, ekstraksi etanol temulawak, pembuatan lotion tubuh dengan ekstrak etanol temulawak, pengujian stabilitas lotion tubuh, dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Lotion tubuh dengan ekstrak etanol temulawak pada konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, dan 1% menunjukkan stabilitas pada sifat organoleptik, homogenitas, dan pH. Namun, pengamatan tentang kemampuan penyebaran dan daya lekat menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 0,25% lebih baik. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan lotion tubuh dengan ekstrak etanol temulawak menggunakan konsentrasi 1% untuk mewakili formulasi pada konsentrasi 0,25% dan 0,5% dan memberikan hasil nilai IC50 sebesar 77,6435 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol temulawak (Curcuma xanthoriza roxb) dapat diformulasikan menjadi lotion dan menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat.   &nbsp

    PERBANIDNGAN TOTAL FENOLIK EKSTRAK ETANOL HASIL METODE MASERASI DAN SOKLETASI DARI DAUN PEDADA (Sonneratia alba Smith.) MENGGUNAKAN SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV-VIS

    Telah dilakukan penelitian penentuan perbandingan kadar fenolik total hasil ekstrak etanol maserasi dan sokletasi dai daun pedada (Sonneratia alba Smith.) menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-VIS. Penelitian ini bertujuan unutk mengetahui kadar fenolik total dari ekstrak etanol daun pedada dengan metode ekstraksi yang berbeda. Nilai persen rendemen dari daun pedada secara maserasi adalah sebesar 11,3% sedangkan dari ekstraksi dengan cara sokletasi didapatkan persen rendemen sebesar 3,7%. Kandungan fenolik total pada ekstrak maserasi sebesar 58,31 g GAE/mg dan pada ekstrak sokletasi sebesar 26,11 g GAE/mg. Data yang diperoleh dari data Analisa statistik  menggunakan One Way Annova dengan nilai (p-value)< 0,05 dinyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kandungan fenolik total ekstrak daun pedada dari hasil metode maserasi dan sokletas

    Platinum and Cobalt hydroxide – modified Platinum Electrode as Sensor for Electrochemical Oxidation of Amoxicillin

    Antibiotics have recently gained in popularity due to their usage in medical treatment and the process of removing them from the environment. Amoxicillin is one of the antibiotics that constitutes the study's subject. On a Pt disc electrode and a cobalt hydroxide modified-Pt electrode, the scan rate and pH in the electrochemical oxidation of amoxicillin were investigated. The voltammetry measurement's current peak revealed that changing the electrode surface could increase the electrochemical response and sensitivity of the working electrodes. The Pt/Co(OH)2 modification working electrode had a high sensitivity in the electro-oxidation determination of amoxicillin, with a linear range of the sensor of 20 to 80 M and a limit of detection of 7.15 M for the Pt disc electrode and 3.64 M for the cobalt hydroxide modified Pt electrode. The findings of determination in real samples with electro-oxidation using a modified electrode were in good agreement with a confidence level of 95 percent, according to the comparing method with HPLC

    Synthesis, Characterization of Polyvinyl Alcohol-Chitosan-ZnO/CuO Nanoparticles Film and Its Biological Evaluation as An Antibacterial Agent of Staphylococcus aureus

    The polyvinyl alcohol-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles film was researched. Synthesis, characterization, and its biological evaluation as an antibacterial of Staphylococcus aureus were the aims of this research. The biosynthesis of ZnO, CuO, and ZnO/CuO nanoparticles was done using the biological method. The polyvinyl alcohol-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles film was synthesized using the casting method. All the products were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Polyvinyl alcohol-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles film as a paper disk for the evaluation as an antibacterial agent through the agar disk diffusion method. The absorption bands of ZnO, CuO, and ZnO/CuO nanoparticles can be observed at 318, 274, and 252 nm, respectively. The peaks at wavenumbers 433-673 and 619 cm-1 were Zn-O and Cu-O groups, respectively. The Zn-O and Cu-O groups at ZnO/CuO nanoparticles can be observed at 474 and 619 cm-1. The appearance of Zn-O and Cu-O groups at film PVA-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles indicates the wavenumber between 433 and 673 cm-1. The physical structure of ZnO, CuO, and ZnO/CuO nanoparticles is crystalline form. The crystallite size of ZnO, CuO, and ZnO/CuO nanoparticles was estimated at 1.0572, 6.6315, and 2.3333 nm respectively. The physical structure of film PVA-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles is amorphous. The surface morphology of films C, D, and E was affected by the addition of chitosan and ZnO/CuO nanoparticles. The film of PVA-chitosan-ZnO/CuO nanoparticles (C, D and E) can act as an antibaterial agent of Staphylococcus aureus.The inhibition zone of film D is higher than A, B, C, and E

    ABSTRAK Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) di SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago Banyuasin Sumatera Selatan mempunyai tema pemanfaatan kulit buah naga merah. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan penyuluhan kepada siswa/I SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago tentang pemanfaatan ekstrak air kulit buah naga merah sebagai media uji kualitatif larutan formalin. Preparasi ekstrak air kulit buah naga merah adalah dengan metode blender yaitu mencampurkan kulit buah naga merah dengan aquades dalam suatu alat bantu blender. Ekstrak air kulit buah naga merah yang diperoleh kemudian diinteraksikan dengan larutan formalin 2 % (v/v) dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dari hasil interaksi yang terjadi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa ekstrak air kulit buah naga merah dapat digunakan sebagai media uji secara kualitatif larutan formalin 2% (v/v). PKM ini telah diikuti 31 orang siswa/I SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago. Hasil diskusi, tanya jawab dan mengisi angket kuisioner menunjukan bahwa materi PKM, urutan dalam penyampaian materi, teknik atau cara penyampaian materi dan manfaat dari materi yang telah disampaikan mendapat sambutan atau penilaian rata-rata baik. Kata Kunci: Kulit Buah Naga Merah, Formalin, Penyuluhan  ABSTRACT Community service activities at SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago Banyuasin, South Sumatra, focuses on the use of red dragon fruit peel. The purpose of this activity is to advise SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago students on the use of an aqueous extract of red dragon fruit peel as a qualitative test medium for formalin solutions. The preparation of aqueous red dragon fruit peel extract is carried out using the blender method, mixing red dragon fruit peel and distilled water in a blender. Aqueous extracts of recovered red dragon fruit peel were then interacted with a 2% (v/v) formalin solution to further discuss the consequences of the interactions that occurred. The results obtained showed that an aqueous extract of red dragon fruit peel can be used as a qualitative test media in a 2% (v/v) formalin solution. 31 students from SMA N 1 Tanjung Lago participated in this PKM. Discussions, questions and answers, and responses to surveys yielded favorable responses on average to PKM materials, the order in which materials were provided, the technique or method of providing materials, and the benefits of materials provided.  Keywords: Red Dragon Fruit Peel, Formalin, Counselin

    The Film of Chitosan-ZnO Nanoparticles-CTAB : Synthesis, Characterization and In Vitro Study

    The synthesis of film chitosan- ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB were studied. The aims of this research were synthesis of the film chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB, its characterization and, application of the film chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB as an antibacterial of Staphylococcus aureus. The film of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB was synthesized by the casting method and characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. The film of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB was used as an antibacterial agent with the agar disk diffusion method. The result showed that the Zn-O group at the film of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB was detected at a wavenumber between 578-619 cm-1. The band at 2852.72-2854.65 cm-1 is the band of C-H groups in the film of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB. The effect of ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB changed of the physical structure of chitosan. The average of the inhibition zone in the film of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles-CTAB I, II and III was 10.37 ± 0.55, 11.31± 1.27 and 10.38 ± 0.24 mm respectively
