    Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is one kind of an active remote sensing system, utilizing microwave to records the earth surface. One of the SAR\u27s satellites is ALOS PALSAR which is capable of penetrating clouds so that the underlying objects can be identified. ALOS PALSAR has a polarization system operating with single beam polarization (HH or HV), dual polarization (HH + HV or VV + VH) and full polarization (HH + HV + VH + VV). This study aims to use the backscatter value of ALOS PALSAR\u27s image for monitoring and mapping the forest. The Utilization of ALOS PALSAR imagery to measure forest biophysical parameters and saturation levels identified based on backscatter sensitivity. Image extraction is done through image calibration where the digital value is converted to sigma naught backscatter value then the result of calibration unit is changed to decibels. Backscatter sensitivity depends on forest structure which  can affect scattering mechanism. The backscatter value is also influenced by humidity and weather dynamics which can also affect the dielectric constant. The result of accurate classification of land use polarization fall in HH accuracy of 62,4%. Whereas for HV polarization accuracy obtained equal to 74,88%. &nbsp

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruhkombinasi media tanam abu vulkanik Merapi, (AVM),pupuk kandang sapi (PKS) dan tanah mineral (TM)terhadap Al-dapat tukar (Aldd), Fe- dan P2O5-tersediaserta berat kering pupus tanaman jagung. Percobaandilaksanakan dari bulan Desember 2010-April 2011dalam rumah kasa di Fakultas Pertanian UniversitasPadjadjaran pada ketinggian ±740 m dpl. Rancanganpercobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompokyang terdiri atas satu faktor, sembilan kombinasiperlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa kombinasi media tanam AVM,PKS dan TM berpengaruh nyata terhadap P2O5-tersedia dan berat kering pupus tanaman jagung,tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap Aldd) dan Fetersedia.Berat kering tanaman jagung berkorelasipositif dengan ketersediaan P2O5 (R2= 0.209); tetapiberkorelasi negatif dengan Aldd (R2= 0.053) dan Fetersedia(R2 = 0.042)

    Knowledge, Attitude, and Behavior of Housewives in Using Styrofoam Packaging in West Jakarta

    Polystyrene foam or Styrofoam are widely selected as food packaging because they are able to maintain temperature of food, comfortably held, retain the freshness and integrity of the packaged, light, and inert food to the acidity of the food. However, the Styrofoam packaging has the disadvantages of transferring monomers and plastic materials into foods that are affected by temperature, contact time, and type of food. Foods and beverages containing alcohol or acids can also speed up the transfer of chemicals in the use of food packaging. Laboratory test results of the Indonesia National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BP-POM RI) showed that 17 types of Styrofoam food containers are safe to use or qualify, but the logo in the Styrofoam product is very important. In addition, temperature, type of food, and length of contact with the container also need to be considered because it can produce a styrene monomer residue. If the styrene monomer residue is > 5000 mg/l, it can cause cancer. This study aims to know the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of housewives in the use of Styrofoam. The design is cross-sectional with purposive sampling. The study was conducted during January–March with a sample of 100 housewives in Guji Village, Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta. The results showed that therewas a significant correlation between attitude (p = 0.044) and media exposure (p = 0.041) with the behavior using Styrofoam packaging. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize and educate the housewives about food packaging security, especially the proper way of using Styrofoam.     Shoreline change is a natural process caused by the transported sediment generated by nearshore current to preserve the mass rates. Shoreline change can be a shoreline loss called abrasion as well as shoreline expansion due to sedimentation called accretion. Abrasion and accretion phenomenon can be regarded as a threat if they cause damage or potentially disrupts human activity. Identification of land use as well as geographical and physical condition of a region can be approached by satellite image analysis. This research uses Landsat Satellite imagery to observe shoreline changes based on the position of shoreline recorded through satellite images of 2004, 2010, and 2016. The image of one period overlapped with other period images is used to calculate the increment or decrease of shoreline occurring at a particular location. The results of this study will show the trend of increasing or decreasing the shoreline based on certain time and positio

    SINTESIS NANO ZEOLIT ALAM MENGGUNAKAN METODE BALL MILLING. Telah disintesis nanozeolit alam Pahae dengan metode ball milling. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan nilai jual sumber daya alam Sumatera Utara khususnya zeolit. Zeolit digerus sampai halus, lalu diayak dengan ukuran 200 mesh. Zeolit kemudian diaktivasi secara kimia dengan menggunakan HCl untuk membersihkan zeolit dari pengotor, dan secara fisis dengan kalsinasi pada suhu 600 oCselama 2 jam untuk mengurangi kadar air. Selanjutnya, serbuk zeolit yang sudah diaktivasi tersebut dimasukkan ke dalamball miling dan diaduk selama 10 jam untuk mendapatkan serbuk nanozeolit. Hasil X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) menunjukkan dua fasa dominan yaitu calsium aluminium silicate hydrate (CaAl2Si10O24.7 H2O) dan aluminium oxide (Al2O3). Dengan persamaan Scherer diperoleh ukuran kristal rata-rata zeolit adalah 74 nm. Hasil X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF)menunjukkan kandungan zeolit alam Pahae terdiri dari senyawa Na2O (1,03%), MgO (0,82%), Al2O3 (17,29%), SiO2 (71,06), K2O (4,63%), CaO (1,92%), TiO2 (0,51%) dan Fe2O3 (2,75%)

    Mass production media of biofertilizer must be able to maintain the shelf-life in accordance with provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 01 of 2019 concerning Organic Fertilizer, Biofertilizer, and Ameliorant. This paper review aims to provide an overview of the media of mass production Azotobacter biofertilizer in Indonesia. Azotobacter biofertilizer in the form of a single liquid or solid fertilizer must have a minimum population of 1x108 CFU/g. Isolation of the nitrogen fixer microbe Azotobacter can be carried out through one or more agroecosystems, after that grown at selective media, pick the carrier either liquid or solid carrier, and additive that can increase microbial viability. Liquid carriers have more advantages over solid carriers. Before commercializing, it is necessary to check the quality of the biofertilizer referring to applicable regulations. &nbsp
