The Analysis of the Prevalence of Diabetes in the Third Age in a Northeast State Between the Years From 2002 To 2013
Diabetes potentiates when the body can not control the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood. This disease develops when the body does not produce enough amounts of the hormone called insulin. The elderly are more fragile in not producing adequate insulin for their proper functioning, since the prevalence is related to aging, sedentary lifestyle and obesity, and these last two factors, in turn, intensify with the advancing age. The decompensated glycemia accentuates frequent difficulties in this phase of life. It can incapacitate the elderly because it increases the risk of dementias such as Alzheimer’s, in addition to diabetic neuropathy, which causes the elderly to lose firmness on the floor, the use of many medications and other problems that impact the quality of life and increase the risk of death

Field-level model approach to assess water and nutrient use efficiencies : WaterFARMING project. Report for deliverable 2.1
- Two models have been chosen for field-level assessment of crop yields and water- and nutrient use efficiencies: WOFOST and DAISY.- For WOFOST a post-doc (João Vasco Silva), who is an expert in this modelling approach has been added to the team. He is also the lead author of this report.- For DAISY, a brief description of the model and data requirements are provided as a guide for the consortium on data needs.- For WOFOST calibration and evaluation protocols and associated data needs have been worked out. Detailed templates have been developed and distributed in the team.- For sites in Germany and the Netherlands detailed experiments have been chosen that are ideally suited for model calibration and evaluation. The quality and detail of the data available is very high. In Denmark, data are available from a combined food and energy system for the modelling task.- Finding suitable experimental data for the other countries is ongoing, there being some challenges in this regard. In view of this we aim to find experimental data for at least one site in South Europe and one in North Africa
Os resultados indicaram que o aumento da lotação de criação prejudicou (PThe effect of vitamin C supplementation (75 and 150 mg/kg) was evaluated in male broiler feeding under heat stress, crowding and normal floor space conditions. The results showed that crowding conditions (10 vs. 14 birds/m²) affected negatively (
ANN-based energy reconstruction procedure for TACTIC gamma-ray telescope and its comparison with other conventional methods
The energy estimation procedures employed by different groups, for
determining the energy of the primary -ray using a single atmospheric
Cherenkov imaging telescope, include methods like polynomial fitting in SIZE
and DISTANCE, general least square fitting and look-up table based
interpolation. A novel energy reconstruction procedure, based on the
utilization of Artificial Neural Network (ANN), has been developed for the
TACTIC atmospheric Cherenkov imaging telescope. The procedure uses a 3:30:1 ANN
configuration with resilient backpropagation algorithm to estimate the energy
of a -ray like event on the basis of its image SIZE, DISTANCE and
zenith angle. The new ANN-based energy reconstruction method, apart from
yielding an energy resolution of 26%, which is comparable to that of
other single imaging telescopes, has the added advantage that it considers
zenith angle dependence as well. Details of the ANN-based energy estimation
procedure along with its comparative performance with other conventional energy
reconstruction methods are presented in the paper and the results indicate that
amongst all the methods considered in this work, ANN method yields the best
results. The performance of the ANN-based energy reconstruction has also been
validated by determining the energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy
range 1-16 TeV, as measured by the TACTIC telescope.Comment: 23pages, 9 figures Accepted for publication in NIM
Synthesis, Characterization, Dft And Td-dft Study Of The [fe(mnt)(l)(f-bunc)2] Octahedral Complex (l = Phen, Bipy)
FeBr2 has reacted with an equivalent of mnt2- (mnt = cis-1,2-dicyanoethylene-1,2-dithiolate) and the a-diimine L (L = 1,10-phenantroline, 2,2'-bipyridine) in THF solution, and followed by adding of t-butyl-isocyanide to give [Fe(mnt)(L)(t-BuNC)2] neutral compound. The products were characterized by infrared, UV-visible and Mössbauer spectroscopy, besides thermogravimetric and conductivity data. The geometry in the equilibrium was calculated by the density functional theory and the electronic spectrum by the time-dependent. The experimental and theoretical, results in good agreement have defined an octahedral geometry with two isocyanide neighbours. The π→ πz.ast; intraligand electronic transition was not observed for cis-isomers in the near-IR spectral, region.32718121817+S1-S2Makedonas, C., Mitsopoulou, C.A., Laholz, F.J., Balana, A.I., (2003) Inorg. A Influência De Crenças E Tabus Alimentares Na Amamentação
Cultural factors, such as food taboos, negatively influence the promotion of breastfeeding, resulting in early weaning. The aim of this study was to investigate differences in eating habits of a group of mothers in relation to breastfeeding. Cross-sectional study consisting of mothers of children under two years old enrolled in the Child Care Program of two Basic Health Units of Guarapuava-PR. One located in the peripheral region (US 1) and the other in the central area (US 2) to detect differences in eating habits of this population. The study included 96 mothers with mean age 25,11 years, of which 86.5% said they believed that some food would undermine breastfeeding. The main foods to be avoided, according to the mothers, were acidic foods, alcohol, chocolate and soft drinks. Mothers of units 1 and 2 have made mention consumption of foods derived from corn, and only two mentioned in the U.S. 2 beer consumption as food lactogenic black. No differences were found between the health U.S. 1 and U.S. 2. In relation to dietary restrictions were not found relevant data related to the taboos of the interviewees. Highlights the importance of orientation to promote breastfeeding and encourage mothers to solve any doubts, avoiding early weaning and continued breastfeeding until two years of age or older child.40222122
