This study aims to analyze the evolution of the economic and financial performance of three largest publicly listed companies in the field of incorporations, through liquidity indicators; debt and capital composition; operational profitability and rentability, from 2009 to 2018, assessing the impact of the economic recession period (2014-2018), in relation to the previous period. As for the methodological aspects, it is a descriptive, documentary and quantitative research. The companies selected were the first three in the ranking of Construction Business Intelligence in 2016: MRV Engenharia & Participacoes SA, Direcional Engenharia SA and Cyrela Brazil Realty AS. The data were collected at [B]3 – Brasil, Bolsa e Balcão and treated by the software Stata, with the application of Wilcoxon tests (to compare the results before and after the economic recession) and the Kruskal-Wallis test (to compare the performance between companies). The results revealed a statistically significant influence of the economic recession, with reduction in the short-term debt ratio (MRV and Direcional); increased fundraising for third parties (Direcional and Cyrela); reduction in the Ebitda´s Margin (MRV) and profitability (Cyrela). It also found significant differences between companies’ liquidity and debt indicators.

This research aimed to develop accurate information about the effects of two simulated herbicide drift (clomazone and sulfentrazone) on the growth of Votorantim Celulose e Papel Eucalyptus grandis x E. urohylla comercial clones (VCP1 and VCP2). This research imposed doses to clomazone ranging between 0 and 2000 mL ha-1 and 0 to 1500 mL ha-1 to sulfentrazone. One cutting of each clone was planted in 5.0 liter plastic pots filled with sandy soil. 80 days after the planting, the herbicide applications were carried out. The treatments were applied to plots with completely randomized blocks with a 2x8 factorial design and replicated three times. The clomazone effects resulted in yellowish, pinkish young leaves and, in some cases, a whitening effect between leaf veins and strongly green and thicker older leaves. The growth parameters were reduced between 13 and 57% and the critical doses of clomazone were from 800 to 1200 ml ha-1, for the clones VCP1 and VCP2, respectively. For sulfentrazone, the drift symptoms included speckling and spotting of younger and older leaves, and purple rings around the spots. High deformation of younger leaves, regular deformation of older leaves, and apical dominance also occurred. The growth parameters indicated a reduction between 9 and 66%. The critical doses to sulfentrazone were 75 - 1200 ml ha-1, for the clones VCP1 and VCP2, respectively. We may conclude from this research that clomazone and sulfentrazone drift could affect the development of the clones evaluated.Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq

The need for discovering new compounds that can act selectively on pathogens is becoming increasingly evident, given the number of deaths worldwide due to bacterial infections or tumor cells. New multifunctional biotechnological tools are being sought, including compounds present in spider venoms, which have high biotechnological potential. The present work aims to perform the rational design and functional evaluation of synthetic peptides derived from Lachesana tarabaevi spider toxin, known as latarcin-3a. The antimicrobial activity was tested against Gram-positive and -negative bacteria, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) between 4 and 128 μg.ml−1. Anti-biofilm tests were then performed to obtain MICs, where the peptides demonstrated activity from 4 to 128 μg.ml−1. In vitro cell cytotoxicity assays were carried out from tumor cell lines, lineages C1498, Kasumi-1, K-562, Jurkat, MOLT4, and Raji. Erythrocyte integrity was evaluated in the presence of synthetic peptides analog, which did not promote hemolysis at 128 μg.ml−1. The peptide that showed the best antibacterial activity was Lt-MAP3 and the best antitumor was Lt-MAP2. In conclusion, rational design of multifunctional antimicrobial peptides may be promising alternative tools in the treatment of emerging diseases such as bacterial infections and tumor cells.</p
