    Get PDF
A decade of development Papua special autonomy authority, it still spawned numerous ripples of dissatisfaction. The authority should be implemented optimally, faced with various obstacles, both internal within the government and the people of Papua, as well as external mainly from the Central Government. However, there is no denying behind the dissatisfaction, the fact that there is success and progress that will benefit the government and the people of Papua. Dissatisfaction that arises only because the treatment of the special autonomy is half-hearted and inconsistent, so the degree of achievement of development should be more meaningful again. This study is considered very important to give meaning to the success of development inspired by the values of special autonomy in its rules implementation. Besides being one of the chain of the management cycle of development, is also a mandate of Act No. 21 of 2001. In connection with that, as product policies, its review refers to the policy dimensions of implementation and performance policy

Projects are an integral part of business growth. Ensuring that structures are put in place to allow for success is important within projects. However, projects can have different issues throughout execution, which include, project delays, poor conflict management processes and limited resourcing. Therefore, an investigation into the aforementioned areas to examine the impact they have on project success was deemed necessary for the research report. Based on the issues highlighted, the purpose of this study is to examine the views on project success and the impact of human capital on project success through the lens of three practicing project managers in selected financial services industry in Botswana. A multiple-case study framework has been developed in order to address the key issues being tackled in the study. Areas of exploration include an examination of key team roles and how they would apply in the context of the selected financial institutions as well as an examination of whether all of Belbin's key team roles are necessary in a team setup from the case studies. A look into how the project managers view project success as well as the constituents of success within the organisations they represent. Lastly, the study investigates the underpinnings of conflict management within their various organisations and how the navigate issues arising. Finally, an analysis of the results is done leading to the research findings and conclusions of the study

Exploring Learner Participation in Waste-Management Activities in a Rural Botswana Primary School

    Get PDF
In Botswana, participation in environmental learning activities has been perceived as a central component of environmental education in formal education. Driven by the need to implement the objective of making the participatory approach part of the infusion of environmental education in the school curriculum as prescribed by the infusion policy, Botswana schools have come up with initiatives to involve learners in environmental education activities that seem to have ‘a direct, perceived benefit to the learners’ (NEESAP, 2007:9). Within this approach it is expected that learners should participate in these activities. However, Ketlhoilwe (2007) revealed that there has been a normalisation of environmental education into existing school culture through equating waste-management activities with environmental education. This generally entails cleaning activities by learners to maintain ‘clean schools’, which is directly associated with environmental education. Drawing from detailed case study data in one rural primary school with Standard 6 learners, I used Cultural Historical Activity Theory to investigate and explain how learners participate in these waste-management activities. Findings from this study revealed that attempts by teachers to meet the policy imperative through prescription of rules, and ascribing roles to learners in waste-management activities, create tensions. This gave rise to an elusive object of learner participation, as the purpose for their participation in these activities is not clear

The Information Systems (IS) discipline in academia has seen an overall decline in enrollment for undergraduate studies. In conjunction with this statistic is that U.S. military veterans who are eligible for educational benefits, of the populous, only 40% use their benefits to. This emergent research 1) discusses the relevancy of the issue in the context of declining enrollments and the increasing demand for technologically-skilled talent, 2) identifying and categorizing manuscripts into relevant topics, as well as 3) suggesting future research

This study covers the gains of development programs within 5 years, including: macro achievements and outcomes for each development field. In addition, it is also obtained a description of the degree of relevancy, coherence, and correspondence between the realization of programs and activities with targeted goals, as well as the achievement of the mission and the development agenda so it can be measured the degree of the medium-term vision achievement. This emergent research discusses the challenges of military veterans’ civil life integration, post-secondary education, and highlights the unique position of Information Systems (IS) discipline in addressing some of those challenges. This paper provides a literature review identifying and classifying a set of 32 core papers from the much wider literature. The classification is at two levels consisting of 12 themes embedded in 4 larger contexts. This research forms the basis for our further research and facilitates other researchers in exploring how IS curriculum, IS faculty engagement with veterans, and IS department interaction with university administration have an opportunity to more effectively address the beforementioned challenges

This report discusses about the final year project entitled “Application of the Central Composite Design and Response Surface Methodology to the Treatment of Wastewater Contaminated with Diethanolamine using Fenton’s Reagent”. The purpose of this project is to study on the degradation of Diethanolamine using Fenton’s oxidation and to determine the optimum dosage of the reagents that gives the maximum rate of degradation. The reagents are hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion. In this project, the degradation of diethanolamine using Fenton’s reagent and the influence of reagents dosage is tested through experimental work .The optimum conditions for its degradation is determined using statistical approach by using central composite design and response surface methodology. Based on the experimental and statistical approach, the optimum value of H2O2 concentration, and FeSO4, 7H2O concentration are 2.119M and 0.0396M respectively

An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis of Evangelical Pastors’ Competencies in Biblical Male Sexuality and Spiritual Formation

    Get PDF
The purpose of this interpretative phenomenological analysis study was to understand how Evangelical pastors’ knowledge of biblical male sexuality, pedagogical knowledge, and relational knowledge affected their ministry praxis of teaching, educating, and discipling men in living sexually pure lives from a biblical perspective. Biblical sexuality is a significant component in the spiritual formation of Christian men. Current studies show that sexuality remains an awkward topic in Evangelical churches today. As a result, Christian men are not getting the help they need in this critical part of their spiritual development. Participants (N=7) were male Evangelical pastors serving as senior pastors in small churches with no professional counselors on staff. The competencies in teaching, educating, and discipling Christian men regarding male sexuality from a biblical perspective are generally defined as having the comprehensive knowledge of what the bible teaches about male sexuality as well as having the technical skills to educate men about biblical male sexuality through relational spiritual formation, and discipleship. The theories that guided this study are Shulman’s (1986) Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and Solid Pastors Ministry’s (2018) Relational Competency (RK)
