Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, especially 2D organic nanomaterials with unprecedentedly diverse and controlled structure, have attracted decent scientific interest. Among the preparation strategies, the top-down approach is one of the considered low-cost and scalable strategies to obtain 2D organic nanomaterials. However, some factors of their layered counterparts limited the development and potential applications of 2D organic nanomaterials, such as type, stability, and strict synthetic conditions of layered counterparts. We report a class of layered solvent knitting hyper-cross-linked microporous polymers (SHCPs) prepared by improving Friedel-Crafts reaction and using dichloroalkane as an economical solvent, stable electrophilic reagent, and external cross-linker at low temperature, which could be used as layered counterparts to obtain previously unknown 2D SHCP nanosheets by method of ultrasonic-assisted solvent exfoliation. This efficient and low-cost strategy can produce previously unreported microporous organic polymers with layered structure and high surface area and gas storage capacity. The pore structure and surface area of these polymers can be controlled by tuning the chain length of the solvent, the molar ratio of AlCl(3), and the size of monomers. Furthermore, we successfully obtain an unprecedentedly high–surface area HCP material (3002 m(2) g(−1)), which shows decent gas storage capacity (4.82 mmol g(−1) at 273 K and 1.00 bar for CO(2); 12.40 mmol g(−1) at 77.3 K and 1.13 bar for H(2)). This finding provides an opportunity for breaking the constraint of former knitting methods and opening up avenues for the design and synthesis of previously unknown layered HCP materials

NA N342K Mutation Enhances the Pathogenicity of Influenza B Virus in Mice

Influenza B virus is a significant respiratory pathogen responsible for seasonal influenza. In recent years the B/Yamagata lineage has demonstrated a rapid increase, predominantly featuring the neuraminidase (NA) N342K mutation. This study determined the impact of the NA N342K mutation on the pathogenicity of influenza B virus and elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Gene fragments with specific mutations were generated using site-directed mutagenesis PCR, resulting in recombinant viruses (rAH127 and rAH127/NA N342K ). C57BL/6 mice were infected to evaluate the impact of amino acid mutations on virus pathogenicity. Body weight, survival rate, virus replication, and lung pathology were compared among the groups. NA enzyme activity was assessed to determine the mechanisms underlying the effects of amino acid mutations on the pathogenicity of influenza B virus. The NA N342K mutant virus exhibited significantly increased NA enzyme activity (3.19-fold) and viral replication capacity in MDCK cells (6.76-fold) compared to wild-type virus. These changes led to enhanced pathogenicity in mice, characterized by severe weight loss, increased mortality, and heightened lung tissue inflammation. The NA N342K mutation likely enhances virus replication and pathogenicity by increasing NA enzyme activity. These findings contribute to understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying influenza B virus pathogenicity and have implications for targeted therapeutic strategies

Coexistence of superconductivity with exotic ferromagnetic state in pressurized non-superconducting UTe2_2

The discovery of superconductivity in heavy Fermion UTe2_2, a candidate topological and triplet-paired superconductor, has aroused widespread interest. However, to date, superconductivity has only been reported in nonstoichiometric crystals of UTe2_2 with a Te deficit. Here, we demonstrate that the application of uniaxial pressure induces superconductivity in stoichiometric UTe2_2 crystals. Measurements of resistivity, magnetoresistance and susceptibility reveal that uniaxial pressure results in a suppression of the Kondo coherent state seen at ambient pressure, leading to the emergence of superconductivity initially at 1.5 GP, followed by the development of bulk superconductivity at 4.8 GPa. The superconducting state coexists with an exotic ferromagnetically ordered (FM) state that develops just below the onset temperature of the superconducting transition. High-pressure synchrotron x-ray diffraction measurements performed at 20 K indicate that no structural phase transition occurs over the measured pressure range. Our results not only demonstrate the coexistence of superconductivity with an exotic ferromagnetic state in pressurized stoichiometric UTe2_2, but also highlight a vital role of Te deficiency in developing superconductivity at ambient pressures.Comment: 17 pages, 4 figure

The aim of the study was to examine how each of these metalinguistic awareness skills would exert their influence on the success of reading in Chinese with age. The results showed that all three metalinguistic awareness skills significantly predicted reading success. It further revealed that orthographic awareness played a dominant role in the early stages of reading acquisition, and its influence decreased with age, while the opposite was true for the contribution of morphological awareness. The results were in stark contrast with studies in English, where phonological awareness is typically shown as the single most potent metalinguistic awareness factor in literacy acquisition. In order to account for the current data, a three-stage model of reading acquisition in Chinese is discussed.National Natural Science Foundation of China and Knowledge Innovation Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

ObjectivesThis study was conducted in order to develop and validate an ultrasonic-based radiomics nomogram for diagnosing solid renal masses.MethodsSix hundred renal solid masses with benign renal lesions (n = 204) and malignant renal tumors (n = 396) were divided into a training set (n = 480) and a validation set (n = 120). Radiomics features were extracted from ultrasound (US) images preoperatively and then a radiomics score (RadScore) was calculated. By integrating the RadScore and independent clinical factors, a radiomics nomogram was constructed. The diagnostic performance of junior physician, senior physician, RadScore, and radiomics nomogram in identifying benign from malignant solid renal masses was evaluated based on the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) in both the training and validation sets. The clinical usefulness of the nomogram was assessed using decision curve analysis (DCA).ResultsThe radiomics signature model showed satisfactory discrimination in the training set [area under the ROC (AUC), 0.887; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.860–0.915] and the validation set (AUC, 0.874; 95% CI, 0.816–0.932). The radiomics nomogram also demonstrated good calibration and discrimination in the training set (AUC, 0.911; 95% CI, 0.886–0.936) and the validation set (AUC, 0.861; 95% CI, 0.802–0.921). In addition, the radiomics nomogram model showed higher accuracy in discriminating benign and malignant renal masses compared with the evaluations by junior physician (DeLong p = 0.004), and the model also showed significantly higher specificity than the senior and junior physicians (0.93 vs. 0.57 vs. 0.46).ConclusionsThe ultrasonic-based radiomics nomogram shows favorable predictive efficacy in differentiating solid renal masses
