    The Geology of the Flag Pond Quadrangle, Tennessee-North Carolina

    Purpose and Scope of the Investigation: Several workers, as indicated in the following section, have commented upon the geology of the Flag Pond Quadrangle, but none have mapped or studied the area in detail--nor indeed, much of the adjacent region. Consequently, the purpose of this investigation is to obtain a comprehensive picture of the geology of the quadrangle. The geology of the quadrangle is divisible into two natural units or parts, each with problems unique unto itself. The first of these units is the crystalline complex, the second is the sedimentary sequence which rests upon the crystalline rocks. The purpose of this study with regard to the crystalline group is first to determine the character of these rocks and to delineate mappable units within them. Secondly, an attempt is made to establish the chronological and structural relationships of the mappable units. Finally tentative conclusions as to the origin and history of the crystalline complex are presented. The study of the crystalline rocks of the area is based exclusively on field examination and thin-section analysis. Laboratory investigations of the crystalline rocks are beyond the scope of this investigation. The sedimentary rocks have been studied, subdivided and described by various workers at several localities outside the Flag Pond area. This study is concerned with the stratigraphy of the Flag Pond area, the character and distribution of the formations, their relationship to other rock units, and, finally, their geologic history.     Management of an Intruded Ankylosed Immature Permanent Maxillary Central Incisor: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

    Objectives Intrusive luxation is a severe type of dentoalveolar injury, which causes damage to the pulp and supporting tissues of a tooth, as the tooth is apically dislocated into the alveolar process. Case This report describes a case of re-eruption of an intruded immature severely ankylosed upper permanent central incisor. A seven-year-old boy was referred to the pediatric dental clinic three months after a traumatic injury. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed intrusive luxation of the immature left upper permanent central incisor. In the first visit, initial bracketing was performed, and the left central incisor was engaged. In the second visit (after four weeks), the tooth showed no movement and produced a metallic sound in percussion. The tooth was consequently luxated and engaged again with a heavier force and followed-up monthly. Conclusion It re-erupted completely, and the follow-up periapical radiographs showed that root formation continued, and the root apex was approximately closed.

    Abstract Economic development in today's societies has provided the bad for the development of economic offences and consequently. Today, one of the simplest and sometimes safest ways to make money can be an investment in the field of the stock exchange. Investing personal money through investment in the economic cycle has helped the economic cycle a lot and has prevented inflation and stagnation in this cycle and on the other hand. It has provided conditions for some offences. The stock exchange can be a good platform to commit classic offences such as the betrayal of trust, theft and fraud and also can ease offences such as different types of fraud, cybercrimes and so on. Therefore, the governments have always thought about controlling and protecting the capital and the investors to prevent the chaos in the stock exchange and consequently, the economy of the society. The actions of activists in the capital market, which are against the principles and regulations of the market can be classified into 3 groups: 1. Regulative offences 2. Disputes 3. Offences. The occurrence of any of these acts is inevitable and can pave the way for distort of regulation and the security of governor on the investment activities of the states. Therefore, this study has attempted to consider the abovementioned issues as much as possible in Iran and US countries. Menginvestasikan uang pribadi melalui investasi dalam siklus ekonomi telah banyak membantu siklus ekonomi dan telah mencegah inflasi dan stagnasi dalam siklus ini dan sebaliknya. Ini telah memberikan kondisi untuk beberapa pelanggaran. Bursa saham dapat menjadi platform yang baik untuk melakukan pelanggaran klasik seperti pengkhianatan kepercayaan, pencurian dan penipuan dan juga dapat meringankan pelanggaran seperti berbagai jenis penipuan, kejahatan dunia maya dan sebagainya. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah selalu memikirkan untuk mengontrol dan melindungi modal dan investor untuk mencegah terjadinya kekacauan di bursa efek dan akibatnya, perekonomian masyarakat. Tindakan para pegiat pasar modal yang bertentangan dengan prinsip dan ketentuan pasar dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi 3 kelompok: 1. Tindak pidana regulasi 2. Sengketa 3. Pelanggaran. Terjadinya salah satu tindakan ini tidak dapat dihindari dan dapat membuka jalan bagi distorsi regulasi dan keamanan gubernur atas kegiatan investasi negara. Oleh karena itu, studi ini berusaha untuk sedapat mungkin mempertimbangkan masalah-masalah tersebut di atas di negara-negara Iran dan AS. Сегодня один из самых простых и иногда самых безопасных способов заработать деньги - это инвестировать в фондовую биржу. Вложение личных денег посредством инвестирования в экономические циклы  помогло экономическим циклам и предотвратило инфляцию и стагнацию в них, и наоборот. Это создало условия для совершения нескольких преступлений. Фондовая биржа может быть хорошей платформой для совершения классических преступлений, таких как обман доверия, кража и мошенничество, а также может смягчать такие преступления, как различные виды мошенничества, киберпреступность и т. д. Поэтому правительство всегда думает о контроле и защите капитала и инвесторов, чтобы предотвратить хаос на фондовой бирже и, как следствие, защитить народную экономику. Действия участников рынка капиталов, противоречащие рыночным принципам и нормам, можно разделить на 3 группы: 1. Нормативные преступления 2. Споры 3. Нарушения. Совершение одного из этих действий неизбежно и может приводить к регулирующим и безопасным действиям губернатора для инвестиционной деятельности страны. Таким образом, данное исследование направлено на то, чтобы как можно больше рассмотреть эти проблемы в Иране и США.     The Accuracy of Ultrasonography in Detection of Ulnar Collateral Ligament of Thumb Injuries; a Cross-Sectional Study

    Introduction: Timely diagnosis and treatment of traumatic injury to ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of thumb is of special importance for preserving the full function of the hand. Therefore, the present study has been designed with the aim of evaluating the accuracy of ultrasonography in detection of these injuries. Methods: The present diagnostic accuracy study was performed on traumapatients over 15 years oldwho had clinical evidence of injury to UCL of thumb and were admitted to the emergency department. All patients were evaluated regarding injury to the mentioned ligament via ultrasonography and MRI and finally, the accuracy of ultrasonography in this regard was measured considering MRI as the reference test. Results: 20 individuals with the mean age of 38.60 § 13.45 (16 – 64) years were evaluated (60% male). Based on ultrasonography andMRI findings 7 (35%) individuals and 7 (35%), respectively had complete ligament rupture (kappa: 0.560 (95% CI: 0.179 – 0.942)). Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, and positive and negative likelihood ratio of ultrasonography in detecting injuries of the mentioned ligament were 71.42 (30.25 – 94.88), 84.61 (53.66 – 97.28), 71.42 (30.25 – 94.88), 84.61 (53.66 – 97.28), 2.5 (0.71 – 8.82), and 0.18 (0.04 – 0.67), respectively. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, performance of ultrasonography by a radiologist in the emergency department has 80% accuracy in detecting traumatic injuries of UCL of the thumb

    Radioprotective effects of Silymarin on the sperm parameters of NMRI mice irradiated with γ-rays

    Free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) are generated using various endogenous systems or from external sources such as exposure to different physiochemicals. Ionizing radiation damage to the cell can be caused by the direct or indirect effects of radiotherapy processes. Silymarin (SM), a flavanolignan compound, has been identified as a natural potent antioxidant with cytoprotection activities due to scavenging free radicals. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the radioprotective effect of SM on sperm parameters of mice induced by γ-rays. A total number of 40 adult, male NMRI mice were randomly divided into four equal groups. The control group was neither treated with SM nor irradiated by γ-rays. The second group was only irradiated with 2 Gy of γ-rays. The third group was firstly treated with 50 mg/kg of SM for 7 consecutive days, and one day later, last injections were irradiated by 2 Gy of γ-rays. The fourth groups received only 50 mg/kg of SM for 7 consecutive days. All the animals were treated intraperitoneally. Histopathological and morphometrical examinations were performed. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey post hoc test. A value of p < 0.05 was considered significant. The results showed that in the radiation-only group when compared with those treated with SM and irradiated, a significant different was observed in testicular parameters and DNA damage (p < 0.05). In conclusion, SM can be considered as a promising herbal radioprotective agent in complementary medicine which may play an important role to protect normal spermatocytes against possible effects of γ-radiation-induced cellular damage

    A Fast Adaptive Wavelet Scheme in RBF Collocation for Nearly Singular Potential PDEs

    We present a wavelet based adaptive scheme and investigate the efficiency of this scheme for solving nearly singular potential PDEs. Multiresolution wavelet analysis (MRWA) provides a firm mathematical foundation by projecting the solution of PDE onto a nested sequence of approximation spaces. The wavelet coefficients then were used as an estimation of the sensible regions for node adaptation. The proposed adaptation scheme requires negligible calculation time due to the existence of the fast DiscreteWavelet Transform (DWT). Certain aspects of the proposed adaptive scheme are discussed through numerical examples. It has been shown that the proposed adaptive scheme can detect the singularities both in the domain and near the boundaries. Moreover, the proposed adaptive scheme can be utilized for capturing the regions with high gradient both in the solution and its spatial derivatives. Due to the simplicity of the proposed method, it can be efficiently applied to large scale nearly singular engineering problems
