    Librarian Love and Positive Change in Student Personality Development: A Library Management Perspective

    Librarian behavior has brought a positive change in the students\u27 lives. Librarian love encourages the students\u27 stay in the public libraries of high schools. A decade ago, the world paid a high price for corporal punishment; in turn, the students faced a high level of stress and anxiety. However, UNESCO has launched a slogan, \u27No punishment but love\u27 all over the world. Therefore, this study measures the impact of librarian love on students\u27 personality development, e.g., discipline, emotional behavior, and perceived respect. Additionally, this study sees whether the high school librarians perceive a positive impact on their discipline, emotional behavior, and respect towards love. The study targeted 45 high schools of District Sheikhupura in the province of Punjab. The researcher personally distributed 480 survey questionnaires among the library teachers; however, 403 were returned valid and filled. The survey questionnaire was translated into Urdu, a native language of Pakistan, because it was too difficult to collect data from the English school. Smart PLS 3.3.3 was applied to test the model, and the study meets the measurement scales\u27 criteria of validity and reliability. The study supported that librarian love has a significant and positive influence on students\u27 discipline, emotional behavior, and perceived respect. It means librarian love brings a positive change in the personality and academic performance of the students in terms of discipline, emotional behavior, and respect. The study provides the guidelines as policy implications to the school education departments to ensure the strategy of love by the librarians so that the habit of spending more and more at libraries would be common

    A Comprehensive Analysis on Solar PV Maximum Power Point Tracking Techniques

    In this paper, electrical power is generated from solar energy using Solar PV cell. The system is designed with 1- KW PV module and connected with DC/DC converters with DC load.There are two main drawbacks with PV plants, the high cost of PV cells and their conversion efficiency. In the I-V characteristics of PV module which is non-linear but has a unique maximum power point. To increase or to maximize the output power of photo-voltaic system Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques are used. These techniques give maximum output power, irrespective of the irradiation condition, temperature and load electrical characteristics. For the purpose of tracking the maximum power the MPPT techniques use some electronic converters. This paper presents comparative analysis of two well-known maximum power point tracking algorithms- perturb-and- observe (P&O), and Fuzzy Logic Control Technique (FLC) are utilized with DC-DC Buck-Boost converters to observe various output response like power and voltage and comparisons between the controlling techniques using FLC and P&O for Solar PV system which provides a convenient choice of right technique for DC micro grid system and find out the efficiency of the converter

    Librarian Behaviors, Students’ Personality and Academic Performance: A Case of Public Libraries

    While technology has enabled academic libraries to go digital, it requires a librarian with great knowledge and real-world experience to perform the job well. To address this issue, a librarian equipped with skills for digitization and digitalization is key. Academic libraries have always used digitalization to encourage librarian behaviors. This research examines the effects of negative/positive librarian behavior patterns on student personality and academic performance immediately. The project is an endeavor to better understand how teachers\u27 actions impact their students\u27 performance and personality. The present study acknowledges the library education dynamics and the way that student performance and personality are linked to librarian behaviors, specifically in the context of advanced public universities (HEIs). This research involved administering surveys to Pakistani students at HEIs. The investigator requested the students of the HEIs to respond to positive and negative behavior and attitude as exhibited by the librarians. The students proposed that professors and faculty tell students how the behavior of librarians influences their own performance and personality. The investigation found that the student\u27s academic performance and personality were strongly impacted by the librarian\u27s positive feelings, while the librarian\u27s attitude was greatly influenced by the student\u27s performance. This research also offers managerial implications and directions for future study

    Use of Corticosteroids in Rheumatoid Arthritis

    Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks the joints producing an inflammatory synovitis that often progresses to destruction of the articular cartilage and ankylosis of the joints. Aim was to evaluate the use of corticosteroids in rheumatoid arthritis. This was a retrospective study, which was carried out in different hospitals. Method; A total 25 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were studied. These patients either presented in clinics or hospital outdoor department of Jinnah hospital, Sir Ganga Ram hospital and Services hospital Lahore between the period of 12 June 2010 to 30 July 2010. Results; From the data collected it has been found that Corticosteroids have been widely used for suppressing pain and inflammation in RA. Conclusion; Corticosteroids can improve the symptoms of patients with rheumatic diseases. They may also have a disease-modifying effect in rheumatoid arthritis. Corticosteroids have a clear role in the management of rheumatic disease. Their toxicity requires that they are used only when necessary, at the lowest dose possible and for the shortest duration of time. Consideration should be paid to the measures that can be taken to limit toxicity

    Generation of ribosome imprinted polymers for sensitive detection of translational responses

    Whilst the profiling of the transcriptome and proteome even of single-cells becomes feasible, the analysis of the translatome, which refers to all messenger RNAs (mRNAs) engaged with ribosomes for protein synthesis, is still an elaborate procedure requiring millions of cells. Herein, we report the generation and use of “smart materials”, namely molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) to facilitate the isolation of ribosomes and translated mRNAs from merely 1,000 cells. In particular, we show that a hydrogel-based ribosome imprinted polymer could recover ribosomes and associated mRNAs from human, simian and mice cellular extracts, but did not selectively enrich yeast ribosomes, thereby demonstrating selectivity. Furthermore, ribosome imprinted polymers enabled the sensitive measurement of an mRNA translational regulatory event, requiring 1,000-fold less cells than current methodologies. These results provide first evidence for the suitability of MIPs to selectively recover ribonucleoprotein complexes such as ribosomes, founding a novel means for sensitive detection of gene regulation

    Spondylodiscitis following endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair: imaging perspectives from a single centre's experience.

    OBJECTIVE: Very few reports have previously described spondylodiscitis as a potential complication of endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). We present to our knowledge the first case series of spondylodiscitis following EVAR based on our institution's experience over an 11-year period. Particular attention is paid to the key imaging features and challenges encountered when performing spinal imaging in this complex patient group. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Of 1,847 patients who underwent EVAR at our institution between January 2006 and January 2017, a total of 9 patients were identified with imaging features of spondylodiscitis (0.5%). All cross-sectional studies before and after EVAR were assessed by a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist and a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellow to evaluate for features of spondylodiscitis. RESULTS: All 9 patients had single-level spondylodiscitis involving lumbosacral levels adjacent to the aortic/iliac stent graft. Eight out of nine patients had an extensive anterior paravertebral phlegmon/abscess that was contiguous with the infected stent graft and native aneurysm sac ± anterior vertebral body erosion. Epidural disease was present in only 3 out of 9 patients and was a minor feature. MRI was non-diagnostic in 3 out of 9 patients owing to susceptibility artefact. 18F-FDG PET/CT accurately depicted the spinal level involved and adjacent paravertebral disease in patients with non-diagnostic MRI and was adopted as the follow-up modality in 3 out of 5 surviving patients. CONCLUSION: Spondylodiscitis is a rare complication post-EVAR. Imaging features of disproportionate anterior paravertebral disease and anterior vertebral body bony involvement suggest direct spread of infection posteriorly to the adjacent vertebral column. Use of MRI versus 18F-FDG PET/CT as the optimal imaging modality should be directed by the type of stent graft deployed

    A qualitative study of nursing student experiences of clinical practice

    BACKGROUND: Nursing student's experiences of their clinical practice provide greater insight to develop an effective clinical teaching strategy in nursing education. The main objective of this study was to investigate student nurses' experience about their clinical practice. METHODS: Focus groups were used to obtain students' opinion and experiences about their clinical practice. 90 baccalaureate nursing students at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery) were selected randomly from two hundred students and were arranged in 9 groups of ten students. To analyze the data the method used to code and categories focus group data were adapted from approaches to qualitative data analysis. RESULTS: Four themes emerged from the focus group data. From the students' point of view," initial clinical anxiety", "theory-practice gap"," clinical supervision", professional role", were considered as important factors in clinical experience. CONCLUSION: The result of this study showed that nursing students were not satisfied with the clinical component of their education. They experienced anxiety as a result of feeling incompetent and lack of professional nursing skills and knowledge to take care of various patients in the clinical setting
