    BANANA IV: Two aligned stellar rotation axes in the young eccentric binary system EP Crucis: primordial orientation and tidal alignment

    With observations of the EP Cru system, we continue our series of measurements of spin-orbit angles in eclipsing binary star systems, the BANANA project (Binaries Are Not Always Neatly Aligned). We find a close alignment between the sky projections of the rotational and orbital angular momentum vectors for both stars (beta_p = -1.8+-1.6 deg and |beta_s|<17 deg). We also derive precise absolute dimensions and stellar ages for this system. The EP Cru and DI Her systems provide an interesting comparison: they have similar stellar types and orbital properties, but DI Her is younger and has major spin-orbit misalignments, raising the question of whether EP Cru also had a large misalignment at an earlier phase of evolution. We show that tidal dissipation is an unlikely explanation for the good alignment observed today, because realignment happens on the same timescale as spin-orbit synchronization, and the stars in EP Cru are far from syncrhonization (they are spinning 9 times too quickly). Therefore it seems that some binaries form with aligned axes, while other superficially similar binaries are formed with misaligned axes.Comment: ApJ accepted, 10 pages, 7 figure

    This study aimed to know the best concentration of Liquid Organic Fertilizer enriched with Rhizobacteri Osmotolerance to enhance plant growth and yield of rice in drought stress conditions. This research was conducted using single factor experiment arranged in a completely randomized design (RAL). The treatments tested are concentrations of POC 5 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 10 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 15 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, POC concentration of 20 ml / l + NPK fertilizer 50% recommendations, and NPK fertilizer 100% recommendations with three replications. The results showed that Liquid Organic Fertilizer enriched with Osmotoleran Rhizobacter can reduce NPK fertilizers until 50%. Liquid Organic Fertilizer concentration of 15 ml / l + NPK fertilizers 50% tend to improve the growth and production of Ciherang rice in drought stress conditions

    Teachers in SMAN 1 Turen had tried to apply innovative learning models but some problems occurred in the implementation. The improvement of learning quality which emphasized on learning process could be done by giving students scientific experience. The scientific experience which was implemented in Hypothetical-Deductive Learning Cycle (HDLC), Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) and Direct Instruction method (DI) was expected to be able to improve the students\u27 achievement and higher order thinking skills. This research aimed to know the difference of the effect of using HDLC, STAD and DI based on prior knowledge on the chemical equilibrium toward achievement and high ordered thinking skill of XI IPA SMAN 1 Turen students. This research used a quasi experiment design with factorial design: 3x2. The research was performed in SMAN 1 Turen, research sample were chosen using cluster random sampling technique, consist of 3 classes, which are XI IPA 2 class (36 students) using HDLC, XI IPA 3 class (36 students) using STAD and XI IPA 4 class using MPL. The Instrument validity and reliability test showed that 30 questions were valid with content validity of 95,3% and the reliability of 0,917. Data was analyzed using program Statistical Package for Social Sciences 16.0 version for windows on significance degree a(alpha)= 0,05 with ANOVA test. The research showed that (1) There was a difference on students\u27 achievement and high order thinking skills of science XI SMAN 1 Turen students using HDLC, STAD and DI on the chemical equilibrium; (2) There was a difference on students\u27 achievement and high order thinking skills of science XI SMAN 1 Turen students with high and low level of prior knowledge on the chemical equilibrium; (3) There was a difference of students\u27 achievement and high ordered thinking skill using HDLC, STAD and DI with different prior knowledge

    Evolved stars hint to an external origin of enhanced metallicity in planet-hosting stars

    Exo-planets are preferentially found around high metallicity main sequence stars. We aim at investigating whether evolved stars share this property, and what this tells about planet formation. Statistical tools and the basic concepts of stellar evolution theory are applied to published results as well as our own radial velocity and chemical analyses of evolved stars. We show that the metal distributions of planet-hosting (P-H) dwarfs and giants are different, and that the latter do not favor metal-rich systems. Rather, these stars follow the same age-metallicity relation as the giants without planets in our sample. The straightforward explanation is to attribute the difference between dwarfs and giants to the much larger masses of giants' convective envelopes. If the metal excess on the main sequence is due to pollution, the effects of dilution naturally explains why it is not observed among evolved stars. Although we cannot exclude other explanations, the lack of any preference for metal-rich systems among P-H giants could be a strong indication of the accretion of metal-rich material. A pronounced peak of the critical velocity at unitarity demonstrates that superfluidity is most robust for resonant atomic interactions. Critical velocities were determined from the abrupt onset of dissipation when the velocity of a moving one dimensional optical lattice was varied.     The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of brand and endorser to brand awareness and its impact to purchase decision. The authors try to fulfill the research gap that exist, i.e. combining the brand and endorser in order to predict the brand awareness, that in our best knowledge still has less attention from researchers. Research samples a number of 100 respondents, were selected through non-random sampling technique, i.e. purposive sampling. Survey method was selected with questionnaire as a tool to gain primary data. Based on the path analysis results that has ben conduct, it\u27s revealed two sub-structure path equation&nbsp;Y = 0,585X1 + 0,229X2&nbsp;and&nbsp;Z = 0,237X1 + 0,108X2 + 0,510Y. Both brand and endorser, it\u27s significantly proven influencing of the brand awareness. The consumer purchase decision significantly formed by the brand awareness as the antecedent that formed by brand and endorser. This research revealed a gap that need to be revised in the next research. Endorser failed to become antecedent of consumer purchase decision.     This study discusses the communication between the child and the stepparent and use the theory that consists of communication theory, communication function, the purpose of communication, interpersonal communication, effective interpersonal communication, interpersonal communication role and function of interpersonal communication. This study used a qualitative method with descriptive qualitative approach. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The primary data of the interviews with sources consisting of four children and one stepparent. While the secondary data obtained from other sources such as books and online data searches. The technique of collecting data using interviews, observation, literature review and data searches online. From this research it is known that children who learn about and understand the prospective stepparent before she married biological parents do relatively better than those who do not recognize his step prospective parents before marriage. It is also known that the interpersonal communication of children with stepparents dependent based on the character of the child and the stepparent respectively. Penelitian ini membahas tentang komunikasi antara anak dengan orang tua tiri dan menggunakan teori yang terdiri dari teori komunikasi, fungsi komunikasi, tujuan komunikasi, komunikasi antarpribadi, komunikasi antarpribadi yang efektif, peranan komunikasi antarpribadi dan fungsi komunikasi antarpribadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer berupa hasil wawancara dengan narasumber yang terdiri dari empat orang anak dan satu orang tua tiri. Sedangkan data sekunder berupa data yang diperoleh dari buku dan sumber lain seperti penelusuran data online. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, kajian pustaka dan penelusuran data online. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa anak yang mengetahui dan mengenal calon orang tua tiri sebelum menikah dengan orang tua kandungnya hubungannya relatif lebih baik dibandingkan anak yang tidak mengenal calon orang tua tirinya sebelum menikah. Selain itu juga diketahui bahwa komunikasi antarpribadi anak dengan orang tua tiri tergantung berdasarkan karakter dari anak dan orang tua tiri masing-masing
