Synthesis of Monochlorosilyl Derivatives of Dialkyloligothiophenes for Self-Assembling Mono layer Field-Effect Transistors
Unsymmetrical dimethylchlorosilyl-substituted α,α'-dialkylquater-, quinque-, and sexithiophenes were designed and successfully synthesized by a combination of Kumada and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions followed by hydrosilylation. Optimization possibilities of the hydrosilylation of low-soluble linear oligothiophenes by dimethylchlorosilane as well as the nonreactive byproducts formed are described. The molecular structures of the obtained dimethylchlorosilyl-functionalized oligothiophenes were proven by NMR and DCI MS techniques. These compounds were found to be stable and reactive enough, even in the presence of the nonreactive byproducts, to form semiconducting monolayers on dielectric hydroxylated SiO2 surfaces by self-assembly from solution. The semiconducting properties of these oligothiophene SAMs were as good as those of bulk oligothiophenes. This allowed the production of stable, even under ambient conditions, SAMFETs with a mobility of up to 0.04 cm2/(V s) and an on/off ratio up to 1 × 10^8.

Monomere in verschiedenen Verhältnissen copolymerisiert.
Abstract
2,7-polyfluorene has been studied recently extensively due to ease of its synthesis
high thermal and chemical stability as well as its high fluorescent quantum efficiency.
Unfortunately, the emission wavelength of 2,7-PF lies in an area with low sensitivity
to the human eye. The ladder poly(p(phenylene) (LPPP) exhibits the desired
wavelength in solution. However, due to the rigidity of the polymer backbone the
tendency of aggregation in film is very high. This leads to an emission in green and
reduction of quantum efficiency.
There is a need to synthesise polymers with higher emission wavelength than 2,7-
PF and lower aggregation tendency than LPPP. In this work polymers on the basis
of indenofluorene and fluorine with low aggregation tendency and high thermal and
chemical stability as well as good process ability has been synthesised.
The polymers are thermally stable (decomposition 310 C) and soluble in organic
solvents. The absorption maximum of 2,8-polyindenofluorene (2,8-PIF) in chloroform
Is at 416 nm and the emission maximum is at 432 nm. Unfortunately the se polymers
have a strong aggregation tendency.
In order to reduce the aggregation of the polymers, dendritic side chains have been
introduced to polyfluorene. The dendritic polyfluorenes (DPF) are readily soluble in
organic solvents and thermally stable up to 340 C. The absorption and emission
wavelength of the polymer in solution are the same as for 2,7-PF. After annealing at
100 C for 24 h the emission is only 8 nm shifted

CENTERED FEATURES FROM INTEGRAL IMAGES
An essential tool for fast image processing is the computation of image features. Integral
Images are a popular approach to obtain this goal. A drawback of this technique is that it
only allows for rectangular image features. In this paper, the goal is to investigate if
circular image features outperform rectangular image features using integral image
approach. Additionally, experimental work for the purpose of comparison between
different and new descriptor methods has also been presented in this paper
Star-Shaped Oligothiophenes for Solution-Processible Organic Electronics : Flexible Aliphatic Spacers Approach
Integrated complementary-like circuits based on organic ambipolar transistors
We report on an approach towards integrated complementary-like circuits based on organic ambipolar transistors. In particular, we show that ambipolar transport can be achieved within a single transistor channel using gold electrodes and a solution processable polymer-small molecule blend as the electroactive material. To demonstrate the suitability of these devices for practical utilisation in logic circuits we realise complementary-like voltage inverters comprised entirely of ambipolar transistors. Moreover, by integrating several such inverters we are able to demonstrate more complex circuits such as ring oscillators
